The Djoker Proposes Four Game Sets. No Ad. Two Hour Time Limit.

Imagine winning a slam by winning 12 games in an hour and a half lol
Welcome to the WTA.

Novak now is looking things by 39 year old point of view.
This wisdom never came when he was playing one 5 setter after another.
Come on champ . Your can think better than this

Gen Z were in diapers when Djoker was winning his first major.
Gen Z has since grown up and has exposed their limited attention span and overall limited mental capacity.
The GOAT Djoker, as always, is looking to the future and thinking pragmatically.

stupid statement but the sad thing is this could actually happen in 5 years.......the upcoming generations might not have the stamina nor the attention span required to last more than 2 hours in a tennis game......audiences interest and money will drive the sport more than anything.......amerianization of sports is such a bad thing to the world......the hydration breaks at the recent football world cup is probably the beginning of it......

Mixed Doubles is wildly successful with 4-game-sets. It sells out Ashe Stadium.
The old purists and traditionalists will cry, but they are in the small minority.
The general public are demanding shorter matches!

money speaks ultimately......we all should just be glad that we could watch real tennis when it still exists......the fun in cricket too is long gone, cricket used to be so much fun from the early 90s when i was a kid and all the way into 2010s before the shorter format took over like storm and destroyed the original format......no doubt the game today is more popular than ever in the usa, africa and europe but not in its original form......the same will happen to tennis......american interests > rest of the world interest, unfortunately......who knows americans might even replace tennis with pickleball in the future......

And people were mad when Nadal said the ATP Finals should rotate surfaces LOL
Novak's ideas being stupid (and they are ridiculously stupid in this case) doesn't excuse Nadal's stupid ideas.

ATP finals should be the crown jewel of the indoor season. ATGs used to be forced to adapt and learn fast court tennis instead of playing from the VIP stands on every surface.

Games without advantage would be the change that would kill the spirit of tennis the most. Tense tug-of-wars over advantages and deuces are the bread and butter of every epic tennis match.
College tennis viewership has increased after employing no-ad scoring, so you've got that all wrong.

You fail to understand that purists constitute a small minority of the audience. These purists also tend to be older.

The data shows that young people love the drama and sudden death of no-ad scoring.

Data from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) and broadcast partners indicates that no-ad scoring in college tennis increases fan engagement by creating higher-stakes, sudden-death moments. Furthermore, this scoring format has helped stabilize spectator viewership by reducing match durations, facilitating consistent television coverage.

Did no-Ad help make doubles more attractive? Nope. No-Ad would change the atmosphere of tennis matches for the worse. The electrifying atmosphere that is created in the crowds during the tug-of-war between advantages and deuces would be flushed down the toilet. Tennis without Ad is a impoverished game.

I've never noticed people losing interest in the 5th Set of marathon matches, so why shorten them?
The most interesting matches are the longest matches, so no need to shorten the sets.
Crowds are louder in the 4th hour of match than in the 1st hour of a match.
And crowds often get behind the player who is losing, because crowds want more tennis!

americans want everything their way....

Yes, US Open crowds are very loud, they love their marathons (y)
Plus you can tell that a lot of Americans (and non-Americans) travel to New York specifically for the US Open, so most of the crowd are actual tennis fans and club players who would like the matches to go as long as possible.

Blatant attempt to prolong his career, unbelievable. Surely grand slam tennis is all about the grueling five sets, otherwise what's the point of the the Grand Slam tournaments.

Novak is not giving this statement for his career. He is speaking what he thinks now. His career was over after that olympic gold.
Now he is only enjoying whatever top 10 player capacity he have .

Yeah I think anyone not blind to his concoctions of ideas can see what he's trying to do here. Too little too late.
