The Djokovic bubble, when will it pop? A prediction based on actual mileage

Well, since someone else bumped this:

If anything this highlights the uselessness of predictions. If you want to put a career into perspective, wait until it is over.

I remember 2015, when Jokofans thought he would never lose again. Then the way even his fans turned against him when things turned bad. Now his fans think he'll go on winning forever. In a few years we'll know. But right now we all blowing smoke out of our bums.
Hey Gezza. I agree with you. I'd like to add to your post the following - we can analyse the past but not the future, of course, however we also should add things that we know now. In this case about the GOAT. His focus is (openly) on breaking the records. He has 2-3 more records do break and he will do everything he can to do it now. Back in 2015 he was far off and perhaps he had different priorities. Knowing now that he is so close to the finish line (and I am not making any predictions at all) he wouldn't want to take the foot off the gas. I think that both Vajda and Goran have said this. Even the dipstick Srdj has said the same. I am sure the wife is supportive too. So having such an attitude we can perhaps say that over the next 2-3 years he will push it to cross the finish line hard. If he is healthy, live and playing I can see him ending his career as the most successful tennis player ever. His perspective in 2015 was totally different to his perspective of today. That is all I am saying.

Why are you not a fan of Srdjan?
He is the biggest supporter of Novak and his source of strength as well.... :X3:

Guruji, let me explain something to you. If you barrack for someone it does not mean you are blood related to that person. If you were born in the same city where other people were born, it does not mean you have to be friend of all the people born in that city. Right? Why should I be a fan of Srdj? Because of his son's tennis skills? Has he got anything that would attract my attention? Is he handsome enough so I turn gay for him? No! Is he smart enough so his intelligence attracts my attention to talk to him? No! Is there anything else that he has to offer to me?

Put a finger on your forehead and ask yourself why have you asked me that question in the first place.

If you cannot figure it out come back and I will try to guide you through it. :)

Pretty much. If you go back on this thread the most revealing comments are from 2018 pre Wimbledon. That was Novak´s low point but for many posters it was unequivocal proof that the “Novak will collapse“ narrative was right all along.

No one saw what would happen, that Novak would win the next 3 slams after FO18 or that he would win 6 of the following 10 slams. And this why I find all “eye test” and time travel tennis discussions fun but useless. The reality is that no one here has the knowledge to predict much of anything.

Ok.

After the OP Crionics seeing Djokovic deny Federer in 3 slam finals (2WB, 1US), he still thought Djokovic was a flash in a pan!

But but but...
Would he even care at this point?...
All the major category records are long gone...
I’ll keep it simple for ya: No OG (unlike several contemporary rivals, with last chance saloon looming large - you better believe he cares) no CYGS (unlike RL) = non singular GOAT.
‘Noleg’ isn’t playing any worse, he’s finally got some competition - going to be interesting to see if Earth’s Mightiest Whippet is up to it.

Man this was a wild ride. From incredible genius to hilariously inaccurate. I appreciate the attempt to do predictions grounded in stuff beyond just “he has to slow down at some point” though

…and along came Nardi to cast further doubt.
