He's leaving May 13th from Atlanta to Nice,France. Then he's playing the Open.
Does he have to qualify for French open ? with his ranking he should get in straight. but he will likely draw one of the top seeds though
DY if he wanted a coach; I sure he could contact Ivan Lendl! LOL!
Wimbledon has made the grass courts slower then traditionally. So Clay court players can win like Nadal on grass. The Donald if he wins Winbledon; I would just follow the the same course as Marion Bartoli and retire a superhero in tennis and will be in the record books for life!
The Donald is in Nice but must qualify. He is #4 seed and has to play twice Saturday if he wins the first of three qualifying rounds.
Plays Sunday for main draw spot vs 20-year-old Frenchman Lucas Pouille. Luckily, he won both matches Saturday in straights, while Pouille went three vs Devvarman and then won R2 in straights.
Spanked and fed a breadstick by young Pouille, 1&2!
just wanted to post this... how the heck is this possible - pouille is little chicken!!!
because the "the Duck" is quackers!!!
HA HA HA...
That would be "petit poulet" or "poussin", not Pouille. DY does play like something that sounds like the latter, no?
I saw that the Donald did not make the final cut and lost to someone before going into the main draw. You have to win three times and he only won twice. He got like 5 points for the effort. He now ranked back down to 80! Sad!
The way it is going it up in the air as to the main draw now! Since players who won that are below him will push him down even more. There are not a lot of points separating 80 from 100! It like 30-40 points.
Main draw for what? The USO? Yeah, that might be in question if he doesn't win matches between now and the cutoff date six weeks prior to then. He is in RG and Wimby.
Just hope Donald makes it to the third round of FO! If he does; he will get back to his highest ranking on the tour - 38 in the world! And if he beats any top 10 player; he gets bonus points depending on who it is of course. Djokovic or Federer would be close for The Donald to win and offer the most bonus points.
The Donald GO 1st round opponent is Dudi Sela (ISR)! I think the Donald can win this round! After that he either plays Feliciano Lopez (ESP) or a qualifier. Now that going be a challenge for The Donald - a top 20 tour player that is a clay court specialist!
They did away with bonus points more than a decade ago IIRC. And, no, DY will not climb to #38 with a 3R result...he is more than 400 points behind the current #38.
when does the Daffy lose, I mean play? cant find it on the schedule.
did Donald get a good draw this time ? maybe reach 3rd round ?
He's not on Sunday's schedule and the Monday lineup is not released yet. I think 1R also goes into Tuesday.
feli is spanish but he is not a clay court specialist.
My error; I just assume that any Spaniard; that clay would be his best surface!
DY/Sela is third match on Monday on court 9, following a women's singles and then Russell/Gonzalez matches. Should start 3pm or later.
Dudi Sela is a great name.
Is there a camera on court 9? (Court he will be on)
Lol! If you change the first-name spelling a bit, he could be the friendly guy on the corner with small little baggies in his backpack! Or worse, an "agent" for gay prostitution.
Up an early break!
DOnald was up 3-0
now its 3-1
4-1 DY is up
He's going all right...on another rollercoaster ride. Howdy Dudi time!
He needs the 3rd badly, no history of fighting adversity
Donald wins 6-1, 2-6, 6-1, 6-0. Rather surprising.
Surprising indeed. I picked the Dude to win...
Donald has a new career in the bakery biz, no?
Wow, three French bakery products.
I think he can defeat Lopez.
A lefty will win!
Lopez leads h2h 2-1, all on HC. DY also beat FLop on HC in qualies.
Could be close, then again...DY not the most consistent guy out there.
Didnt he beat Seppi in 5 sets at the Aussie Open this yr after blowing a lead in the 4th??
Close... He won from 2-1 sets down, 6-4 and 7-5 but served for the match at 5-4 in the fifth only to be broken and then broke back and served it out.
The Donald 2nd Round opponent is Feliciano Lopez (ESP) ! If he wins this round; he will be in the 3rd round! It going be a burner for sure for The Donald!
Looking good today!
I hope Donald wins this tiebreak. Its absolutely crucial .
Good stuff from Donald.
What's with Lopez today? His antics are ridiculous. He is commentating every point.
This is great from DY
Allez, DoYo! Nice job!
i stand by (...) flight of donald duck ?
well done by donald !
now GGL or mannarino in the next round...
Will be though vs probably Garcia-Lopez, but not impossible. I'm surprised by how well Young played this RG!
I think he's got another match in him.
The draw is not bad, even after that it could be Monfils or Foggy, both of whom can go into flake mode.
I can see me hitting with Donald before the french has really spiked his game.
Never been a Donald fan but that was a nice win against a tough opponent.
Separate names with a comma.
