Well you got your money's worth in the men's doubles after a quick ladies' final!

Bit like when we went in 2014, though I think the doubles matches were the other way around then.

    Enjoy!

Well, that Men's Final was a truly amazing display of high quality doubles tennis and epic drama. Great promotion of the doubles tennis. Special tribute to the public who filled in the CC stayed after women's finals and helped to make it an unforgettable final.

As for the match itself, I feel it was one of those rare occasion when I believe both teams deserved to win. I was happy for the winners but also sorry for the losers.

Deep in the fifth first I thought it would be Marach who will crack physically but astonishingly he kept holding his serve. Once Pavic saved 2 MP I thought they will prevail and then Kubot/ Melo saved 4 break points from 0-40 showing great mentality. Ironically enough it was finally Pavic who finally cracked mentally be broken for the first time when serving to stay in the match after he held his serve for 14 or 15 consecutive times. For me he still was the player of the match and he will certainly win many slams in the future as he's only 24 while while Marach (the oldest of the 4 with 37) may not have another opportunity.

Well whatever happens in this mixed final at least there'll be one British winner at this year's Championships. :) I like Murray and Hingis but Watson and Kontinen are the underdogs so I think I'll root for them.

Hopefully all Jamie Murray matches have regular shots of his mum in the stands.

Hingis seems to be in good form so far in both mixed and women's doubles.

Having said that, Hingray are now a break down after serving the bagel in the first set ...

Hingis/Murray v. H. Chan/M. Venus (not a clue who he is) in the mixed final today before Keys/Sloane.

Just wow! What a great match. Love Hingis/Murray pairing. Both brilliant doubles player. The energy and vibes between two are enjoyable to watch. It was just down to a few points here and there. Venus & Chan were also great. Great day to start Sat.

Didn't know Hingis' women's doubles partner, Yung Jan Chan is the sister of Michael Venus' mixed doubles partner, Hao-Ching Chan. Seems like Taiwan produces so many great women doubles specialist.

Congratulations to Hingis & Chan! Only saw a bit of the first set, but it looked like a good match (despite being a straightforward victory in the end).

Martina wins her first women's doubles GS since splitting from Mirza. Of course she won the mixed also yesterday.

I hope she continues playing for a few more years, it's great for the doubles game.

Martina's doubles partner YJ Chan is quite a doubles player herself. She was holding her own, hitting winners left and right and setting up many points for Hingis to close. Hingis knows how to pick a partner (and how to leave one when it stops working). The dynamics between the two is just a treat to watch. Same goes for Hingis/Murray.

Hingis and Murray seem to have a lot of fun together. I hope they keep playing together in mixed for a while!

It seems Martina was equivocal about them playing again in 2017, saying she wants to enjoy the moment rather than think about the future.

Whether that is because she will play with someone else, is thinking about retiring for good, or honestly just doesn't want to think about the best year yet, remains to be seen.

I for one hope she keeps playing and we finally get that Hingerer ticket in 2020 ...
