+++++ The Dunlop Aerogel 4D 200 User's Group +++++

I just bought my first 4D 200 Tour, got it strung with L-Tec by way of JET method @ 40lbs. Looking forward to hitting with it. I did add 5grams to change the balance a little.

Hey there, I got a question for you 4D 200 users!
I'm currently using the Wilson Blade BLX 98, but I think it's sw is a bit too high for me (I'm 16 years old, quite tall but not very strong). Also, the comfort isn't too good.
I was thinking of switching to the 4D 200 16x19, as it is cheap as heck, and seems like a good replacement/upgrade!
The 18x20 has a stock sw of 337 which is obviously not my cup of tea, but I think I might add some lead to the 16x19 to up the sw to 320-325 or so.
What are your opinions of this switch? From the BLX 98, to the 4D 200 16x19?

I hope to hear from you guys!
PS: I'm a 4.0 rated player, with semi western grips, average amount of spin.
PSS: Sorry for digging up an old thread!

Also, can anyone compare the Pure Drive Roddick 2012 with the Dunlop Aerogel 4D 200 16x19? It seems like balance and weight are almost the same. Only the headsize differs a lot.

It's still available on a dutch webshop, there are only 2 of them left though. That's why I want to make my decision fast! Could you answer one of my questions?

Question for all you 4d 200 users. Does your 4d 200 (non tour) feels cheaply made and flimsy upon impact (without a dampener)?.

I bought a used one and it just felt super hollowed and flimsy on ball contact and just had to sell it but I was hoping it was a defect.

Hi, been using my 4d 200s since they came out and other versions before them (nothing better than the dunlop 200 feel IMHO!).

For me at least, I could understand if they felt a little dead but would have never thought of them as cheap or flimsy. Hopefully just a defect man, an unfortunate occurrence when buying 2nd hand. I always thought of Dunlop as pretty good quality up to the bio line, I haven't owned any since the 4D series so can only comment on previous lines and as I say I've always found Dunlops to feel quite good on impact.

Only way you'll know for sure is to find another one somewhere and hopefully it'll perform better for you!

Yes and no. I definitely feels different than a 200 Tour and the hoop does feel less substantial. Cheap, no, lighter and more hollow, yes.

Is anybody from this thread interesting on selling their Dunlop Aerogel 4D 200 (18x20) grip size 4 1/2?

thanks
