I dislike the paint job of the BG Tour. I dislike the Pacific paint jobs as well. All other paint jobs by Fischer this millennium are fantastic, it is art.

I had two racquets with the Nicole Dürr design - those were the most aesthetically pleasing in my opinion. Everything afterwards was "solid" but not outstanding. But it really is the same with all the other racquet companies. Head's designs in the late 80ies (Prestige, Elite, Elektra Pro especially) with their sparkling colors were just as good, but look at them now... The only company trying to really install some system into their racquet paint jobs is Wilson at this point, thanks to @PeterFig! I personally like the cosmetics across the entire current Wilson line-up, can't say that about any other brand out there.

I don't think so. In fact, I think she only designed a few Fischers in the early 90ies - but someone with better knowledge may correct me here.

What Fischer racquet would you like to see Pacific release that is not currently available?

I'd like to see this frame resurrected: Pro Tour FT

On paper, it has all the things I lean toward: 98 sq in, 21mm straight beam, extended length, 16x20. I did not like the red/black version of this frame when it first came out in 2001, but the yellow/black one supposedly an improvement. I would like it to be slightly lighter, only to allow me to customize it to my taste. 315g instead of 320g.

Anyone have any string recommendations for the Fischer classic pro revolution 98? I typically play with a poly multi hybrid but it sounds like ceramic racquets are pretty string sensitive.

I'm a gut/poly person, and that is what I put in my Pro Rev 98s, but I think these will respond well to a full bed of gut, or a decent multi if gut is too expensive. Putting full poly will really deaden/counteract the feel of the frame IMO.

If you have to use poly/multi, maybe try it the other way around (e.g. multi mains, poly crosses).

Thanks for the reply! I ended up going with Technifibre Blackcode 17 in the mains and gamma TNT 16 in the crosses. It feels great. Exactly what I needed to do.

I had multis on my PC 98 racquets for years, tried Isospeed Cream mains and Isospeed Professional Classic crosses (both @52) and like it even better: Soft, great feel, tamed power, and lots of control.

@Alex78 do you have a stockpile of grommets for all those racquets...?

I was considering getting some Fischer racquets but without spare grommets, it might be a bad idea... just more racquets that I won't be able to use long-term... (I have a Yonex Super RD Tour 90 and 95 and can't find grommets so now might have to try different improvisations...)

Would you be able to give me your thoughts on the M Comp 95 and the Pro Extreme FT... if you've tried that one? Thanks

I have spare grommets from Pacific - they are an exact fit:
    XFeel Pro 95 - M Comp 95
XFeel Tour 100 - Magnetic / Black Granite Tour
    X Tour 97 - Vacuum Classic 98 'Retro'
    - I've never tried the Pro Extreme FT, but the M Comp 95 is a very, very nice stick. I have the 'UL' version (295g unstrung) and added some lead at 2 and 10 and on the handle. It allows me to swing really fast, and the precision I can obtain with it is top-notch. It's also relatively wide in the hoop, not much difference there with regard to the Tour, which is 100squin.

Thanks for that @Alex78 ... that helps... will look up those grommets on TW...

With regard to head sizes... I don't really pay much attention as I have found that what is printed is not what is factual in many cases... and the differences are not that great... fitness, footwork and keeping an eye on the ball are much more important... but it's good to know that the hoop is relatively wide...

You're not helping my racquetoholism with all the wonderful photos of your racquets on the Post Pictures of your racquets thread... lol :D

@McLovin ... I ended up getting the Fischer Vacuum Pro 95, Vacuum Comp 95 and the VT Pro 98 (all 330g)...

Very exciting and can't wait for them to arrive so I can sample some of that unique Fischer feel... They will be my first Fischers... hope I love'em...

Nice! I've never hit with the Vacuum Pro or Comp, but the VT Pro 98 is a dream. I picked up some of the Pro Classic 98 Retros and am now waiting on some Pro No 1 FTs, which are extended. Love love love the Retros for doubles. They are so maneuverable at the net, and solid on the return.

I snagged the Pro No 1s to experiment with an extended frame in singles. I used the Black Granite Pro No 1s for a couple years, but am finding as I get older (49 now) I need a little more help from the frame during extended ralleys. Hoping the extra 3/8" adds that.

Admittedly I used to frown upon people using different frames for singles and doubles, but am now going to experiment for a bit with this approach. I serve & volley of both serves in doubles, and look to come in off my first chance when returning, but hug the baseline in singles, so I guess it makes sense I'd want something quick & maneuverable at the net for dubs, but something with slightly more 'controllable power' in singles.

What you say makes complete sense with respect to singles and doubles... with the FT's I was worried that I might find them hard to play with, having never used an extended length racquet before... otherwise they look very enticing... Which FT's did you choose?

Yeah, I used extended length frames for almost 10 years (Yonex RD Power 10 Long, Hyper Pro Staff 6.1 +, Fischer Pro Tour FT, Pure Control + 'Swirly'), then manufacturers started making only the light, powerful frames extended and I returned to regular length frames. But, I've always wanted to go back to them. I went with these:
