Indeed, this one is incredible. I have one -- among 13 others Pro Classics, it's the one that I like most. Unbelievable feel.

When I first hit with a Fischer exactly 20 years ago, it was indeed a revelation as you said mellowyellow. That was the blue Pro Classic 98 (1998 version).

I came from a Head Ti Fire and I could not believe how easy and comfortable it was to hit a tennis ball. No vibration, maximum comfort and control. Never looked back since then.

Can anyone explain how these are so arm friendly. What technology is used?

I'm not an engineer so I couldn't say why they are so special. That said, some people don't like their feel.

It's a very unique feel. Like everyone on the forum I think, I've tried some sticks over the years but I've stuck to the Fischers for 20 years now. I like them all, not all the same but I think they all have that Fischer feel : soft on the arm, low RA (some Fischer's have 58-59 RA) yet powerful, well balanced, barely no vibrations.

I don't know if it has to see with the vacuum technology. I'd say quality manufacturing to say the least.

Can anyone explain how these are so arm friendly. What technology is used? I play with Duel G 97 310 and got a Pacific Pro Tour 97 and there is a huge difference in how my arm feels after playing with the Duel, now that I'm used to the Pacific absorbing all the bad stuff. They are strung exactly the same and match in weight and balance.

The Pacific is supposed to also have a higher RA, 67 compared to the Yonex's 64. The Pacific does feel a bit stiffer, but in no way does my arm hurt after after playing. Is it the secret sauce in the vacuum process? If anyone can explain their technology further I'd appreciate it.

Completely agree... Love my Fischer Vacuum Pro 95 330g 20mm Straight Beam (Orange and Black). Great feel, arm loves it, great control and awesome power (when desired).

Just for the fun of having this "faction" bumped one more time, a (decent) picture of my Pro Classic collection, (almost) all ready to play. 13 + a Pacific Pro Tour 97.

(y) The sixth from the left and one of the "retros" courtesy of Alex78.
(y) The three purples on the left courtesy of Langdon0555. Unfortunately I'm having issues with a higher swingweight on these three but I'm trying to fix it, hopefully I will. Just too bad, these ones are pure beauties.

Cheers to all Fischer lovers (and the others too) !

Fischer-VT-98-Pro-Silver-vs-Gold.jpg

Fischer VT 98 Pro 320g "Silver" vs "Gold" version!
Same specs, same paintjob, same stickers theme.
Differences: All the silver stickers are gold on the second racquet.
eg. the "TECHNIC" word and the rectangular around "98" is silver on the above (the most common version - all images I've found online are silver) and gold on the racquet below. Additionally, the yellow stickers are more light on the "Silver" and more dark (to orange) on the "Gold"...

- Have you ever seen this "Goldy version" ?
- Could be a release from a different year (eg 1998 vs 1999) ?

Do you have any other thought about it?

Well, the gold version also has "Fischer Austria" written above the grip, and the silver doesn't... or does it have it elsewhere?

I like the gold one better... just personally.

My charity shop Fischer collection - there’s a Pro 1 FT somewhere too but I hear it’s the black sheep of the Ried family!

Is the Pro Classic 90 from the same lineage as Stich’s 1991 Vacuum Pro?

No, "Fischer Austria" it's on the same place.
It is covered by the rubber ring and a red tape which holds the overgrip...
With gold letters instead of silver, as the rest of the scheme...
Silver version looks better to me, but who cares!
Both of them are real weapons!

Fantastic!

Always prefer a low tension with these Pro Classic 90, no matter you play with poly or multi (I'd advise full natural bed or a soft multi though, but it depends on what you are used to).

And I love those GOAT dampeners.

Enjoy :)

Hi all Fischer fans! Does anyone know if the original Vacuum Midplus Pro (first gen tapered beam, blue/pink paintjob) had a 320gr version?
I recently got one in great condition, at 337gr (strung with Luxilon Smart and with a Tecnifibre replacement grip)
There are no stickers on it, so I wonder if it's just way off specs. In case there was only a 330gr version, do you remember if it had a leather grip? (that would bring the weight up to specs). Haven't tried it yet due to injury, but, based on your comments, I can't wait
Thanks

Pretty sure my 4 blue/pink 98s were 320g; had a metallic red/burgundy 330g also.

Just in case you're unaware, those 90s are short side specific when stringing due to the recessed string grooves on the outside of the frame/grommet strip; I seem to remember Fischer stating that the crosses had to be strung bottom to top as well. Interestingly, 90s and 98s had virtually the same length mains, with the 90s obviously having a much narrower head width.

I have hit w/ the 105UL only a handful of times, and that was years ago.
A good friend of mine used them for years, until I finally convinced him to upgrade to the Pacific version (X Force Comp).
.....

Hi Mac,
Could you or the good friend of yours can compare the Fischer 105 UL with the Pacific X Force Comp?
How close those racquets play each other? Which do you prefer?
Thank you in advance!

From my recollection, at first he felt the X Force Comp was a tad stiffer, and swung a little heavier. I now believe the 'heavier swing' feeling is likely due to the perceived 1/8" extension you get when converting from the old-style bulbous buttcap to the pallet w/ the integrated buttcap (see https://tt.tennis-warehouse.com/ind...-frame-demo-round.593034/page-3#post-11844360 for detailed photos). The 'tad stiffer' was likely due to his 105UL being 6 years old...

To add, not that results equal 'good racquet', he was an integral part of the Mid Atlantic team that won 4.5 Nationals this year (and will likely be re-bumped to 5.0 when ratings are released next week). I believe his record was on the order of 16-1 at the 4.5 level, going undefeated in every post-season match.

Sorry, maybe my english is pure...
With that paragraph you mean that Pacific is even better?

Hahahaha. I guess I was trying to get across (albeit poorly) that my friend is a pretty decent player. I think people sometimes have this stigma of players who use light, oversize frames...

I don't know the specs of the Pacific X Force Comp to compare but...

I play w/ the 105 SL altho I also have the UL as well but haven't played with it for quite some time. My wife uses the UL.

Few weeks ago, I strung up the UL (same string/tension) hoping I'd get more racket head speed and gain some stamina
playing against a stronger player (and much more fitness/stamina).

Well that didn't work out as I'd hoped. Couldn't get as much depth nor pace, it just felt too light, esp against his heavy balls.
Went back to the SL and ahhh, nice again.

Yes I know that guys.
My regular opponent is like that.
They can beat you even with a stick.
You can not understand anything about a specific racquet from them...
I have just got two XForce Comp, so very soon I will have my own opinion...

XForce Comp has the UL specs.
I also prefer SL specs and I have the same problem agaist big hitters.
But as I am getting older Comps are a good option to carry in your bag for the most of the matches. For bh players I will use my 98 SLs.
Pacific XForce Comp is 320g strung, and with 3g in 12 I guess is going to play fine even against heavy shots. My only problem is that after customization the raquects play more ''vibrated'' for me and I dont like it. I hope that Comp to be better in that due to its Fischer ''vibes free'' origin. Soon we will see...

As I was afraid Pacific X Force Comp is a very good racquet, far better than any 2010+ stick I've try - but on the other side, has almost nothing to compare with unique Fischer feel... Of course the light weight does not helps too.

But I have the Fischer virus and I'll never get over it!
So I have two (very hard to be found) Comps L3 grip FS now, one brand new unstrug and another 9.9/10.
If anyone is interested just pm me.

I've still got 3 or 4 M Pro 98 yellow\green ones and 2 Black Granites. I need to pull them out and take some pics.

I am a happy owner of a Fischer M Speed Pro No 1 105 SL racquet now!
So I’m coming back to that recent post…

...in order to write a direct comparison (who many ask for) between Pacific X Force Comp 105 (292g unstrung - same mold & weight like Fischer M Speed / M Pro No 1 105 UL versions) and the Fischer M Speed Pro No 1 105 SL (320g unstrung).

My “standard” racquet (I change racquets too often, but this is my most loved one) is the bright red lighter 320g version of (1998) Fischer VT Pro 98. And that red gem is going to be my No. 1 choice forever! But as I getting older and I use to play doubles more often I look for a easier racquet to hold…

When I hit for a first time with the Pacific X Force Comp, my first impression was that Pacific don’t have the same feel with the Fischer (at time I’ve own 98 sqi M Pro versions only). But now, as I have both, I can say that this is not true for those 105s. The feel is very similar (when you put 3g on the tip of Pacific's hoop as I mention below).

Another myth bust: Looking the specs of those two racquets and the difference between weight (292g vs 320g) and the balance (1HL vs 7HL) you may thing that the heavy SL version just have additional weight in the handle. But this is not true! The heavier Fischer Pro No 1 105 SL has the extra weight spread all along the length, make it a super stable racquet, far better of Pacific X Force Comp standard version. In order to have the same feel like Fischer with the Pacific X Force Comp you have to add 3g in the tip of the hoop (12 position). That mod transforms the Comp a lot, make it a doubles weapon!

Fischer M Speed Pro No 1 105 SL is a very good racquet, but that 342g strung makes it a heavy racquet to hold it and serve with it 2+ hours in a row…
Really confused which one is better for me (and as my beloved standard racquet is other than those) I decide to keep them both!
Conclusion? Fischer Pro No 1 105 SL is a very good racquet which make me realize how good and easier racquet is the (moded) Pacific X Force Comp!

Just picked up a couple of x force pro 1 252 from Pacific to retry before the new version comes out in April. Anyone care to share their favourite setups?

Sorry if I have missed anything related into these 34 pages.

But I still haven't found the answer to that (simply?) question:

What makes Fischer feel so unique?

- Some say it is their construction in Austria and the technique of the workers
But the next ones from Taiwan and China have the same wonderful feel.

- Some say it's the Vacuum know-how that existed in the Ried factory.
But the others, outside of Ried, are great too.

- Some say because of the ceramic materials.
But even those without ceramics have the same unique feel.

- Some may say that it is the design of the mold.
But the Pacific wth the same mold, although close, certainly do not have the same feel.

I'm really confused...

What’s your thoughts about that unique feel? Where it comes from?

regarding this above, on the feel, I remember reading it somewhere, maybe here, about the feel being described as something to do with honey / cracker inside....I guess it doesnt happen every time, but what is that kind of inside-the-frame crack that happens when you hot the ball just right? it happens with pacific too by the way.
