The WTA Finals 2024 are set to begin in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Saturday (November 2).
This year's top eight women's singles players and doubles teams will battle it out on the King Saud University Sports Arena for the prestigious season-ending championship.

The venue will host four matches every day before the grand finales on November 9. Not just are over 15 million dollars in prize money on the line in Riyadh, but the year-end numero uno singles ranking will be ascertained after the dust settles. Iga Swiatek is the defending champion after she defeated Jessica Pegula, the US Open 2024 runner-up in the final last year.

On Day 1, in a rematch of the last WTA 1000 final of the season, the top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka will take on world number 7 Zheng Qinwen for the third time this season. The second singles match will feature No. 4 Jasmine Paolini against a returning No.5 Elena Rybakina, in a rematch of the French Open quarter-finals.
Sabalenka, who recently overtook Swiatek as the World No.1 and won the Wuhan Open, is a part of the Purple Group alongside Jasmine Paolini, Rybakina and Zheng.
The Orange Group in singles comprises Swiatek, Coco Gauff, Jessica Pegula and Barbora Krejcikova.

When it's Paolini's turn to walk, she looked a bit like a junior player or something, because she's so much shorter compared to the others.

Rybakina looks the best of them all..., and i don't recognise anyone in doubles (I don't watch it...) other than Errani, Paolini (obviously) and Siniakova and to me personally Siniakova looks the best in the doubles shot, Rybakina for singles shot...

The video of the singles stars and the pic of the doubles stars is so much better than these 2 pics which made almost all the women look miserable.

Pegula looks like she's being held at gunpoint, Krejicokova looks like a widow in mourning, Swiatek looks like she's holding in a fart. And don't get me started on the doubles, Errani looks like she's been told she's tested positive for doping again, Routliffe looks like she's angry to be there, Hsieh and Mertens both looks like they've been told they have to play Serena/Venus at their peak at the WTA Finals.

Looks like a collective f@rt. Surely these women can afford better stylists. Wen is the only one dressed for success.

I mean I disagree, the women's dresses, makeup and hair all look stunning. It's just the 'face" they've been told to make that looks bad.

I don't know how you could say Zheng is the only one dressed for success when Sabalenka looks absolutely gorgeous. Paolini looks like an Italian goddess. Kichenok also looks beautiful as does Chan.

Sabalenka looks amazing. Pity she is so annoying. Swiatek, much like Henin, should always wear a cap to disguise a huge forehead.
Rybakina is beautiful.

Agree with the comment about stylists: Swiatek has the worst hairstyle for her face and a dress worn by 30000 American bridesmaids.
Zheng is absolutely stunning but the Dior outfit looks meh.

Sabalenka is quite beautiful in this photo. Not an uncommon thing for her.

The rest: plain to underwhelming for a glamour-based publicity photo, although Swiatek's hairstyle works to frame her face.

You're right - I was grumpy this morning.
