Davenport is way too slow on foot to be a better grass player than peak Graf. And even on hard courts if she were that great she would have won another U.S Open after 98, it is not like peak Williams were around every year, and she still couldnt manage it. Kim Clijsters even owned still prime or close to prime Davenport on hard courts from 2003 onwards, LOL!

Peak Venus I could see being a better fast court (grass, medium to fast hard courts) player than Graf but peak Venus was infrequent and sparatic even in her prime.

If you make a hybrid of Graf and Hingis, the middle distance runner and the tennis talent, you might have a reasonable player who could compete today.

However, it could go the other way; with this hybrid you could end up with a player who while being cheeky, lazy and puny, also has many injury stories.

Graf was very unlucky, very wounded, very injured with all her injuries, that she so shyly and so bravely carried, though she was in constant pain.

Seles' assassination, a tiny teensy weensy little superficial scratch, didn't seem quite so bad after all, did it?

the only thing I remember from Graf vs Hingis is the Swiss pulling from below when the final of RG was going. Steffi for ever

their head to head is a bit misleading, more than a half of the matches they played happened when hingis was only 14 or 15, also their last match martina almost won in two sets(before the meltdown)

anyways, too bad they didn't play more, two exciting, high quality players.
