Scheduled to hit with Matt again in 3 weeks time, when he comes up to work/study at UCSF. We got the group thing going, Volynets, Shroud, Yaz, Papa, and trying to schedule it for a Tuesday/Thurs when the courts are least crowded. Some problems are coming up, mostly work, Shroud's work schedule and no car, and Yas not committing yet.

Last time Matt served LeeD a bagel.

What will happen this time? Matt is older and has less time to play, while LeeD has nothing else to do but play.

I sense a major upset this time around.

What is the video situation? Who is organizing it? I would like it to be done professionally.
 
I was in Oakland recently, but unfortunately due to flight cancellations and a tight schedule, I wasn't able to visit San Pablo Park. I'd love to hit/play against LeeD.

I hope some other members get to play LeeD, whether or not they video it.

It would be more interesting if you played LeeD, even if you do get bagelled.

Shroud v LeeD might make interesting viewing.
 
Guess Matt is interning at Apple. Marina High is going to UCMed in Sept.
Hope it happens, Matt hasn't mentioned where he's staying, and we need to find some available weekend courts between the locations of the various player's. When it get's closer, I'll contact Shroud and give him a ride to wherever we're meeting.

Cupertino is about 50 miles from San Pablo Park, so halfway would be around the Tri-City area. When is Matt going to be here? I can help you find courts.

Of course, you were the first player that Matt invited. He's working for Apple, don't know where. Volynets is living between WalnutCreek and San Jose, but he likes to drive. Shroud doesn't have a car, so either I or Papa can pick him up, but Papa can't play most weekends, it appears from family commitments.
Matt appears to be staying in Cupertino and coming up June 11th or so, but might schedule the hit for the following weekend. Prolly best for a South Bay meetup, if you can play on a weekend.
I wonder if those courts that SystemicAnamaly teach's at are availible on weekends.
Possibly farther South nearer to Cupertino or Redwood City area is better for everyone to meet up.
I think RajS is still available too.

And things are moving rather fast. Matt informs that he is indeed going to play.

I'll get in contact closer to the date. Looks like we're heading for Cupertino area to meet Matt and maybe RajS. We gotta set Sat or Sunday.
Marina High is not coming up until Sept, so maybe it's gonna be Matt based out of Cupertino working for Apple this summer.
Yaz hasn't committed yet, and we haven't heard from AndreVolynets lately.
I"m 70% on, but still, it depends what S/O is doing, as she's the boss.

Shroud, Papa, and I have to drive 75 miles.
While it might work for you, and maybe for them, is tennis worth killing a whole day for? Most MWF's, my tennis days, I also windsurf in the afternoons. Sundays, there's a solid 4.0 doubles group going at SanP Park.

And while 75 miles is not that much time I suppose for some areas, its 75 miles in Bay Area traffic so its at least 2 hours most of the time, or double that at the wrong time.

@LeeD: Sure, I will come if it is on a weekend and I am in town! I will be out of town for about a week or so starting around June 17th. Will watch this thread for the date and time.

LOl. Thanks dude. I have my good days and bad days. I need to just hit the courts and serve for the next few weeks. Ditched the usta and havent played a match in a while. ALl those guys mentioned are smarter and tougher players than I am so it will be fun for sure.

But my ground strokes have a surprising consistency these days- if I want them to:

 
I'm occasionally in the bay area and would love to join you guys whenever you decide to meet up. Been awhile since I've hung out with Volynets too, I'll hit him up.
 
Somebody needs to make a 24x36 poster for this event. I'm pretty good at Photoshop but don't have any images of the competitors to work with.

I am keenly watching this thread. I have no dog in this fight and live on another continent... but am non-the-less riveted.
