The greatest racquets of all time - LIST

fujitsu77

Semi-Pro
Hi everyone

I thought it would be interesting to see which racquet the majority of people here think is the greatest classic frame of ALL-TIME!

I plan to make a poll out of this so that everyone can vote on which classic racquet they think is the greatest.

Before I make a poll though, I just want some opinions as to which racquets should be on the poll (list all the racquets here. then I'll put the racquets in a poll and we'll vote on them)

(I'll start the list with a couple of the most obvious racquets)

LIST

Head PC600

POG MID

POG OS

Wilson Prostaff 85

Wilson Prostaff 90

Wilson Prostaff 95

you guys can add stuff to my list. I just started out with some very basic, well known racquets.

I want some of your opinions so that I take all the racquets mentioned in this thread and turn it into a poll, where we can vote for the "most classic racquet"

I'll add another racquet:

Dunlope Max200G

Tour 90

Semi-Pro
For Drakulie, C10 Pro. VOLKL.
JK!
Seriously though I gaurantee you that the PS85 wins. I hope it does as I have two and it's the only one of my racquets that is gonna be in the poll.

PS 85, hands down. I also noticed Volkl did not make the list. :)

Your limited sense of perception "only noticed" that volkl did not make the list... but you do not make any commentary with respect to the absence of Yonex, Dunlop, Fischer or Babolat.

this post demonstrates how stupid and negative is your attitude, that it does not contribute anything to the subject and is only directed to a selected group of people...

on topic:
besides the classics all people know (POG´s, PS6.0 adn PC600), i need to mention the slaz. pro braided, the Volkl C10 and probably some of the Boris Becker Pumas!!

If you're adding woodies, you gotta add the Wilson Jack Kramer Autograph and Pro Staff, too.

You post with such passion. I am glad to see I am the cause of it.
Now if you could only find other passions in your life, rather than relying on me.

The name of that Slazenger is Slazenger Challenge No. 1.

Also you have to add the Jack Kramer Autograph it was made from 1948 to 1983. Don't forget the Dunlop Maxply Fort 1933-1983. If a racquet last more than 2 years now it's a miracle.

alright!!! let's start the poll.....

then we'll debate!!!!

OK. This is what I'm going to do. Since there are 28 racquets, and you can only have 10 items in a poll, I'm going to make three different polls. Then, we can take the top three from each poll and put them into one final poll to determine which racquet is the best.

Is Fischer Vacuum Pro 98 correct?

There is
a Fischer Vacuum Pro Classic 90 (Stich)
a Fischer Vacuum Pro Classic 98 (Carl Uwe Steeb plus others)
a Fischer VT(Vacuum Technik) Pro 98 (Kafelnikov, Phillipe DeWulf)

The original Fischer Vacuum Pro Midplus or 98 that was made from about 1991-1995 when Kafelnikov came on tour. Then Fischer started calling it VT Pro 98. It's last incarnation was the Fischer Pro Number one. That is the racquet I am talking about.

Fujitsu,

Sorry to be a bit picky here. I just went to see the poll threads and there's a problem.

The rackets are listed in a mix of woodies, aluminums, fiberglasses and graphites. This makes it very difficut to judge as each material type has its own classic stick.

Is there a way the poll can be adjusted/corrected? Just a suggestion.

Cheers!

All right, let me try to sort things out.

Do you think I should just delete those polls and start new ones?

Don't flame me but the Babolat Pure Drive should be in that list !

You like it or you hate it , it's up to you. But this stick has been on the tour for quite ten years now and it has helped a lot of player to win a slam.

Finally, it is the most sold racket in the world nowadays.

Wow my Davis Imperial deluxe is twice that weight!

Pure Drive should be on the list. It's really fun to play with, just barely using any power and the ball manages to go over the net:)
