Pats can’t win in Miami so I’ll take the field. I think the chargers with have to be the favorites. On paper they’re the best team in the afc imo. I think they’re better than kc everywhere but qb (I’m counting kelce and Henry as receivers but kelce > Henry). Pats need an outside threat on offense and kc needs a rb plus a defense. Steelers will be worse rest of the afcn doesn’t scare me. Afcs is still weak

NFC gotta like the rams with a healthy kupp and gurley. Just gotta see how serious gurleys injury is. I think NO takes a step back. Falcons should be better can’t see their whole team on IR again. I think we’ll see a healthy wentz bounce back. It usually takes a year to be back to normal from a major injury and no SB hangover this year. I think Chicago takes a step back but not like Jacksonville maybe 9-7. The north looks like the worst division in football right now.

Way to early prediction rams beat chargers

Didn’t you have an all-LA SB53, too?

More believeable this year, for sure.

A pre-draft/FA hunch subject to change for me is KC out of the AFC vs NO in the NFC in Breesus’ swan song. Brees finally gets a MVP but Mahomes wins the SB in OT with a no-look sidearm throw to Tyreke Hill who scampers 75 yards on the first play in extra time.

I’ve got the Chiefs. They’ll need to draft well, bring in a couple of pieces and hope the defense responds to the new coordinator. Those are achievable, though.

I think next year will be the beginning of the end for Rivers and Brees. There were signs down the stretch for Brees, and Rivers looked immobile in the playoffs imo. It’ll be tough for the Rams to make it back to the big game I think, it always is for any team (NE aside).

I'll go with Bears and Eagles in the NFC Championship Game. The double doink rematch. I liked the fight from the Eagles down the stretch and in the playoffs, it's always tough being defending champions and they showed they've potentially got a bit more about them than I thought. The Bears offense and Trubisky will need to both take a big step forward if they're to get there, but i've got a good feeling.

So that would give us Chiefs vs an Andy Reid disciple in Nagy/Pederson for the SB.

Bears made a nice hire to replace Fangio as DC with Chuck Pagano. They could continue their defensive prowess under him. The playoffs outcomes depend so much on home field advantage. Getting that bye and playing at home throughout will be easier in the NFC South than the North unless Arians works some magic in TB and Cam’s shoulder regenerates. I’ll stick with the Saints, especially with the chip on their shoulder they will have from PIgate.

As much as I don’t like it, I think the Pats will be in the big game again because that’s just how it is.

No competition in the AFC East. They’ll get the first round bye and run through the playoffs again

Browns would be my super darkhorse pick in the AFC. Way too early to tell though

I think the Bears regress due to the tougher schedule. I’m biased, but I like the Eagles to come out of the NFC. They hopefully won’t be decimated by injuries and they have the Rams’ number whenever they play them

Unfortunately I think this year was Andy’s last great chance to win it all with the Chiefs

Wouldn’t be surprised if the Colts do it, too. Love Reich and Luck

Here are some of the records the Pats could match or break:

7: SB titles solo
4: SB consecutive appearances ties Buffalo
2: SB consecutive titles (ties Dallas, Denver, Pittsburgh, Green Bay, Miami and SF). They would also tie Pittsburgh as the only team to do it twice.

If NE finishes with a winning record, they will be one season short of Dallas/Tom Landry’s 20 consecutive winning seasons.

Already in the books are most Conference Championship appearances and titles, most division titles, most playoff games and wins.

Pretty sick!

Home field is definitely a big advantage. The Bears schedule next season looks similar to this years, they had the Rams and Patriots this season, next year Chiefs and Eagles look like the toughest games. So fairly comparable. A lot depends on how the rest of their division goes I think, they benefited from Vikings, Packers and Lions all being bad last time out.

The NFC has been seen as the stronger side for the last few years, but I think that might be changing. Patriots, Chiefs, Chargers, Colts, Ravens, Steelers could be better without the Bell/Brown distractions, Browns etc.. if I was buying stock, I’d say the AFC is the one on the rise at the moment. Compare that to the NFC with the south looking like having 3 teams who’s window might of closed, north having the Packers and Vikings at a crossroad, Seahawks and Cowboys won’t really be challenging with those one dimensional offenses.

Bad weather for work tonight so I’m housebound and flipped the TV from NBA to the new AAF pro league. Three downs was all I needed to see they will be one and done...worse than bad.

Speaking of bad, what do you think of Cooter as the new RB coach for the Jets? I always thought he was one dimensional as an OC, throwing it every play. Maybe he’ll surprise me, but it looks a strange hire on paper.

The Lions haven’t had much luck at RB since Sanders. Jim Bob did get productivity from that position in the passing game from overachiever Theo Riddick (4 seasons of 50 plus catches, peaked at 80 one year). OC Loggins comes with Gase from Miami so I could see them using the RB out of the backfield a lot (Drake had 53/477/5 TD catches last year), especially if we ring the Bell in FA.

We had the San Antonio - San Diego and Memphis - Alabama games here. I thought both were entertaining and I’d watch again. The game flow was so much better than the nfl. First drive of the SA-SD game the qb got laid the f**k out on a huge hit. No flag was thrown. I’m sold

I’m a lifelong San Antonio commanders fan. Been one since the day the franchise started :p

Browns sign hunt. Not sure why just focusing on football and ignoring his stupidity off the field the move makes no sense. Chubb was a stud when given the bell cow role.

I also have Chubb on my dynasty team so I’m not happy.

Agree on Chubb. When you’ve already got someone as good as him on a rookie contract, why you want to rock the boat by bringing in Hunt and the headaches? Strange.

The Hunt controversy has elicited opinions with the talking heads from the extreme (permaban) to the moderate (let Goodell impose his wrath). Those latter opinions are of the belief it will be much more than the minimum 6 weeks for domestic violence episodes because of the salacious video.

Scheftie is reporting Baltimore is trading Joe Flacco to the ultimate QB buyer, John Elway and the Broncos.

Here is the list of QBs the Golden Boy has gone through since becoming GM:

Kyle Orton (inherited)
Tim Tebow (inherited)
Payton Manning (acquired by trade)
Brock Osweiler (drafted 2R 2012)
Mark Sanchez (via trade)
Paxton Lynch (drafted 1R 2016)
Trevor Siemian (drafted 7R 2015)
Case Keenum (FA signing 2018)

Joe Flacco...another in a long list of gambles; at least one paid off.

Give Flacco the defense manning had and it might work.

Other than that this makes no sense. Flacco has been very bad for a while and he was never actually good. Still gotta pay Keenum and the only difference is Keenum is younger while Flacco is taller. And Elway loves height

But Kubiak was OC in BMore and I think another Denver guy also has ties to Flacco who generally seems like a decent guy and handled the benching about as good as anyone could. Answered the questions all right after the playoff loss as well.

Great job by BMore getting something for a guy everyone knew they didn't want. Not sure exactly what round the pick will be in but either way a 3 or 4th rounder aint bad.

Denver on the other still have to pay Keenum this season unless they move him o they will have a Q controversy the entire season because numbers wise they are pretty similar. But flacco can be cut after the season with little penalty and Keenums was only a two year (I think) so his is done and Denver will be free of having to pay nay QBs. If Flacco somehow pulls off a miracle and becomes slightly below average like has always been he will cut anyway and they renegotiate another deal.

The talking heads claim this move is the first part of a fairly large QB carousel involving Keenum, Eli, Bortles:X3:, Tannehill, Foles and Carr. Almost as much shifts as HCs.

I could see it, most if not all of them are either done, but a change of scenery might not hurt. Probably be decent Foles under normal circumstances demands the highest return, but Philly having to tag him to then trade makes it weird.

If Arizona don't draft Kyler and they get good return for Rosen, Kliff can bring in Keenum to run some air raid for a couple years until they find their other guy. I think they should trade down with someone and try to grab Kyler in that 8-12 range

Funny how a seemingly innocuous and unsolicited comment made months before a college HC first got fired only to be hired as an NFL HC could rob his new organization of leverage in a trade down scenario.

Word is Arizona would have to stay put or close to #1 to be picking earlier in the draft than the Chuckwagon Black & Silver. Gruden will adapt Spider 2 Y Banana to fit the diminutive QB’s skill set.

Hunt didn't commit domestic violence.

Kaepernick/Reid have reached a settlement with the league in their collusion case. Terms of the settlement are sealed and will not be publicly revealed.

For all those enthused with the first week of the AAF and envisioning the alliance as the new NFL minor league...get out and see them very soon! There are reports that many of the franchises are already having problems meeting payroll just 10 days after their first kickoffs.

Drew Rosenhaus made it official today that his client Antonio Brown and the Steelers will part ways during the upcoming weeks. He was interviewed on ESPN’s NFL Live via Skype after the meeting between Steelers brass and Brown in Pittsburgh.

It's too bad that his Diva mentality got in the way... a great player though. Love the ones that let their play define who they are. Julio Jones, Larry Fitzgerald to name a couple.

The Steelers have decided not to tag Bell in any way, letting him walk in exchange for the compensatory draft pick (3R) they will be entitled to after he signs with any team.

Dallas again in the news with Jason Witten announcing he’ll suit up again to play in 2019 instead of continuing to fail as an ESPN MNF talking head.

Kyler Murray bulks up to 207 pounds and grows an inch to 5’10” and a fraction. Hand size comes in at an impressive 9.5”. He will now skip the combine drills and timed sprints, preferring to showcase at OU pro day next month.

Silly offseason mishaps season continues.:.the Ravens released their top RB Alex Collins after he was charged with drug and weapons violations following an auto accident. Collins ran his Corvette into a tree in icy conditions, then fell asleep behind the wheel while waiting for a tow truck to respond. Police found more than 5 ounces of marijuana and a handgun in the car and a subsequent search of his home resulted in additional drug and firearms charges.

The Jaguars and Nick Foles seem to have reached tentative agreement that will be formalized once FA officially begins on March 11.

AFC South is going to be stacked from top to bottom! One of the three potential top landing spots for Antonio Brown is rumored to be Tennessee. Indy and Houston won’t back away from 2018 success. Hard to pick a favorite in that division.

Foles to the Jags wouldn’t be a big surprise. Brown with the Titans would be a shock though. Not sure he’ll like the look of his numbers with Mariota throwing to him

Pittsburgh has blocked any trade within the division and to NE. At first it was leaked it had to be a NFC team but they softened that stance and Scheftie has identified the Raiders, Titans and Washington as the three teams most interested in a deal.
