I upped the stock weight with hockey tape (head protection), 2 overgrips and 1 rubberband dampener. Sorry no lead weights.

I'm not sure how heavy my Vantage is, but I know it's enough to get into this club. Demoing around, trying to find a frame that feels similar, I added a bunch of weight to a Babolat PST to make it about 360g, and it's still lighter than my Vantage.

So, Vantage specs:
head size: 95si
balance: approx 8pts hl
weight: approx 375g?
sw: approx 350?

Specs on the PST that I'll probably purchase soon and customize:
head size: 98si
balance: 11pts hl
weight: 360g
sw: approx 340
(that said, does anybody know of a frame with similar specs, instead of me buying a pst with plans to customize it right away?)

This is my test racquet.. it's just for fun and to experiment with.

I use it to see just how heavy I can go. It's modified more out of curiosity than practicality.

My primary match sticks are about 425 grams.

Oddly, it's not as difficult as you would think.. you just can't be whippy or late. Being relaxed and smooth, with plenty of early preparation is the key.

Needless to say, it doesn't just hit like a brick wall, it IS a brick wall.

Warming up with some practice swings using a head cover with 2 balls stuffed inside really gets the arm loose and primed for using this beast. When I do this, I feel like I’m in the on-deck circle warming up with those heavy bat weights.

I can't hit with anything under 12 ozs. I just got done demoing the Dunlop Aerogel 100 which is listed at 11.7 oz. It was way too light and was not stable. Although I did like the feel and flex I needed more weight. Currently I use a Yonex RDS001 90 with five inches of 1/4 inch leade tape at the 3 and 9 positions. It hits great now and is a lot more stable. I am very used to the Pro Staff line of frames going back to the PS85 6.0 and going through the Classic 6.1 95, Tour 90, and K90. I have owned other frames: POG mid, Pro Kennex Redondo, Yonex RDX500, Donnay Pro One International TW version but the extra weight of the Pro Staff line is just awesome when you are pounding away at the baseline.

This procedure is for a No. 2 grip size.

For larger grip sizes, I would use a different method that I have also experimented with (using a utility razor to channel out slots for the steel plates).

I adjusted the balance by adding lead tape head under the bumper.

I don't have pics of this step for the KPS88, but it is extractly what I did here for my PST:

Nice and clean look. No evidence of lead modification.

i am 220lbs and 6.4 so i crave a heavy bat and have my NXGs Mps wellleaded.. they vary a bit but are all in the 345-360 gram range now. awesome plow and cuts and spin as a result. super loopy groundies that catapult off the court high and heavy.
polys on the mains with VS gut on the crosses helps out.

Looks like I'm barely in myself, as I'm switching to the K95 18x20. The stock frame, strung, is 349g. I do put some lead at 10 and 2, plus an overwrap, but that only makes it around 360. Seems to be the perfect "Goldilocks" frame for me these days-- just right. I may have to play around with a leather grip and more lead on one of them....
