Welcome back, Hitman. Hope your recovery is going well. No more training in the desert. :p

So hyped for this Wimbledon, a lot of potential there. Hopefully the top two seeds clash eventually with the Heavyweight Champ winning #5.

The MRI shows a fragmented bone chip that broke off from my elbow, not causing any pain, doctor said they shouldn't need to remove the chip if it is not hindering pronation and supination of the elbow. Full arm extension is a bit difficult at the moment, luckily I didn't suffer muscle atrophy. Yeah, need to reign in that training a bit. LOL

Can't wait for Wimbledon also. The heavyweight champion equalling Borg would be insane, considering how people used to tear Novak down as not being a good grass court player in his earlier years. I always said he had the potential, but never thought I would be talking about him getting five.

Oh God, I can already see a thousand threads on whether winning five in different years is better than winning five consecutively......

Well a little early to talk about that yet, just amazed that there is even any potential for it. Five plus AOs or USOs, yes, I could have seen, but five W titles? Still has to win seven matches, and upsets can happen on grass more than average.

Great thread Hitman. I still don't see Fed as Djokvic's greatest challenge - even on grass.

If Nadal doesn't lose early (and that's a big IF), a Djoko-Nadal SF would likely be closer than a Fed-Djoker final. (Assuming Nadal lands on Djoker's half).

The reason why I speak of it is that the further into the tournament Djokovic plays Federer, the better. The reason being that the court will be beat up that much more with two additional semi finals and a women's final played on it before the mens final. Federer is very proficient at using a grass court as a weapon if that ball stays low, and can exploit that one slight weakness Djokovic may have. So, Federer moving to other side, benefits Djokovic a lot. It benefits Federer also if Djokovic and Nadal ending by tearing each other apart, so there is that side.

From a physical standpoint, yes, Nadal is going to be able to match Djokovic better than Federer, I agree.

All of these things are IFs, I mean all three as unlikely as it is could be bumped out.

Hasn’t Nad make some indication that he “overloaded” his muscles while training for Wimbledon ? Sounds like he is evaluating the situation now that he has to face either Fed or Djoker in the SF.

You mean better for Djokovic and bad for Fed. Right?
Once the courts are worn out, there is no way Fed can hit through Djokovic.

The reason I say Nadal would give Djokovic a harder match is not because Rafa is better than Fed at grass. But because Fed most likely won't be able to hang with Novak for a BO5.

I do agree with this. Federer shouldn't really be #2 seed, Djokodal are clearly the two best players right now and should have a face off in the final if it would come to that, not before.

Based on the way Novak slips and falls on grass , it ‘feels’ he is undeserving of 4 titles

But what can we do ?

You have to shove those feelings in your rear

Get well soon @Hitman

Thanks. Back home now, and fully focused on recovery. Will take about another month before I can lift again in any capacity.

A final between Djokovic and Federer is better for Djokovic, and match earlier on, would increase Federer's chances because of the relatively less wear on the court.

And I don't disagree on Nadal physically matching Djokovic better than Federer, that is correct. And that is what Federer would want, a physical fight between Djokovic and Nadal which then helps cancel out a lot of the issues with the more beaten up court.

You are aware of how grass seeding is decided, yes?

According to Scotts, the following should guide you to making the right decision.

2. Choose the Correct Grass Seed

Choose a grass that is right for your lifestyle, budget, and location. Start by thinking about the type of lawn you want and the growing conditions in your area. Will the lawn get full sun or partial? Will it get a lot of foot traffic or be used by pets? If you’re unsure what type of grass you should grow, check out our Grass Seed Identifier article, which will help you find a grass type that matches your growing conditions.

They are exactly the same. One points to consistency and the other to longevity. But 5=5. Yet I’m sure many posters will end up arguing for the interpretation that makes their favorite player look best.

Federer deserves to be considered No. 2 on grass for seeding purposes. I have my own disappointments about it, but no matter.

All eyes on the draw. Hopefully we don't get too much early draw destruction and Nadal, Djokovic, Federer, FAA and Co are all still alive and kicking in the second week.

Also really hoping Lopez can ride the high from Queens and have a solid first week at W. Last time he won Queens he had a big emotional/physical hangover. It's been great watching the smooth grasscourt stylist all week in Queens and we are running out of chances to watch him play. One of the last grass specialists left on tour.

I hope Federer and Nadal are in the same half only since I doubt both make it to the semis (or further) without one being upset this year. Both being in the same half increases the chances of atleast 1 of the 2 making it to the final, and hopefully atleast making it a respectable match vs Djokovic. If one is in Djokovic's half, the odds of the other not making it, an epic or atleast competitive Djokovic-Nadal or Djokovic-Federer semi happening, then an easy rollaway win over a weak finalist for Djokovic in the end ala last year, are much higher. And nothing sucks more than an anticlimatic final.

Earth's Mightiest Warrior will be happy to see that development, as I am sure so would Fed. Time to see if what even I thought was beyond comprehension once upon a time, a fifth Wimbledon title being held up high by the defender of justice and freedom. :)

Wimbledon is where Novak has risen like a phoenix and with Federer ideally on the opposite side of the draw, the time is now. Time to unleash.

Fed did both. 03-07 and 03, 07, 09, 12, and 17. :p

One massive advantage playing into Federer's hands by being on the opposite side of the draw to Djokovic, I doubt Federer will be moved off Center Court this time for the entire duration of his time. Last year, Djokovic had only played once on Center Court before the quarters, this time round he will play the entire first week on that court, so when the time comes for the second week, I fully expect Nadal and Djokovic once each to play on court one for the fourth round and quarter finals.

Federer will not being moving off of Center court for this entire campaign.
Cue fed favouritism threads

Only an advantage if they keep the agrarian baseliners off CC.

Tunisia actually sounds more interesting that the medical jargon :D Hope you had a good time otherwise. I am assuming that you are not in too much pain (or rather, you seem to have a higher threshold than many). Its good to see you back.

Thanks. Among many things I wanted to see where they filmed the Tatooine scenes for Star Wars.

its not a matter of who deserves what. Federer being a 8 time champion is not taken into consideration when Wimbledon does its seedings, contrary to what some might think, its a standard formula that has been used since 2002 and is public knowledge.
