The Ideal Roger Federer Post Match Interview

Interviewer: You played well today, Roger, how do you feel?

Fed: "Yeah, I think I played my absolute best tennis...I couldn't have dreamed of playing any better, and I still consider myself incredibly lucky to win this match. I didn't think I had any chance, but I guess in the end I was lucky enough to sneak out a win...All credit to my opponent who thoroughly outplayed me for most of the match. Truly, I feel honored to be smiled upon by god today. What luck I have."

Interviewer: Do you consider yourself great, or simply lucky?

Fed: Oh, it's luck for sure. I can say with authority that I've never actually deserved a win in these tournaments. I always expect to lose in the first round, but somehow I eeked this one out. Over the span of my career though, it's not greatness, it's luck combined with a weak era. If Nadal was healthy all the time, I'd have zero slams."

Interviewer: I see there is something on your jacket, is that a #15?

Fed: "Yes, it is...I was up all night with Mirka embroidering it. I'm quite proud of it and I will use it to broadcast my greatness. Some say that the best way to do it is to show what you've got on the court, but I like to shout it from the rooftops. I'm incredibly arrogant and also lucky."

Interviewer: Last question...Against some of the all time greats, how do you stack up? Let's say you and Sampras, Centre Court. Would you beat him as you did in 2001?

Fed: "Oh, no absolutely not. That guy is the greatest ever. That win was a lucky fluke, and I definitely didn't deserve it. I was also in my absolute prime and Pete was almost in a wheelchair. I think that had I not gotten so lucky, I would have won one, MAYBE two points, but that's about it. As for other greats, I stand no chance. When I face an opponent of a real caliber I crumble and cry all night long. I'm incredibly lucky that I didn't have to face a guy like Cedric Piolene in two of my Wimbledon finals...So lucky am I."

Interviewer: Thank you, Roger. Congratulations on an incredible win!

Fed: "You're welcome, and an incredibly lucky win it was! I will cherish this forever in my lucky trophy room with four-leaf clover wallpaper. I just peed my pants at the thought of Rafa being healthy again...My luck is about to run out!"

Anyway, that's what we need to hear from Fed. What is your ideal interview?
