Nadal is officially the greatest Grand Slam player of the last 10 years. Interestingly, of the big 4, Rafa has missed the most slams over the past 10 years, but won the most. With Rafa's 37% strike rate at slams over the last 10 years, his absence at 5 slams has statistically cost him about 2 slams (but likely even more if you factor in that he has lost momentum and had to try to return to his previous level after injury so many times).

Here is the breakdown of the last 10 years of slams:

Slams won over the last 10 years (2008-2017):

Nadal: 13 slams (13/35 - absent from 5 slams)
Djokovic:12 slams (12/39- absent from 1 slam)
Federer: 7 (7/37 - absent from 3 slams)
Murray: 3 (3/38 - absent from 2 slams)
Wawrinka: 3 (3/39 - absent from 1 slam)
Del Potro: 1 (/26 - absent from 14 slams)
Cilic:1 (1/37- absent from 3 slams)

Does people realize that in sport sometimes you have to pay for your playing styles? Seriously, it seems like Nadal has to play in a self-destructing defensive ways to grasp his slams. That is why he has missed many grand slams.

A confident, injury free Nadal is almost unstoppable. Djoker 2011 is the only one I've seen do it consistently

you don't actually know much about statistics do you? I wonder what the strike rate for non-RG slams was and how many of the slams he missed were outside RG. Right...

Rafa missed a lot of the slams that he was most likely to have won:

I think Nadal injuries robbed him the RG2009, Wimbledon 2009 as Federer was shockingly bad even taken to 5 sets by Andy Roddick whom he used to crush no problem. In 2012 Rafa was race to London number 1 before his loss to Rosol and he missed the rest of the year. The final of Murray Nole in US Open never happens with Rafa as he used to stop Murray every time in SF. 2014 rafa again was number 1 race to London but wrist injury cost him potentially a US Open 2014 as Nole and Roger were below par in that. The entire 2015 he was trying re discover the form and even 2016 RG, he was imo 2nd fave behind Nole to win that and didnt play.

Fed and Nole dont have a history of missing slams like Rafa and yet Rafa is 4 slams ahead of Nole and only 3 behind Roger.

I know that you don't know what ignore is, but I hope you will ask around.
