who is almost everyone? the people on this forum?
You cant generalize about the public from this forum alone.
So if there a new 100 coming out?
I think it's about time I give something else a try rather than using my stash of original max 200g's.
If you do a search here you'll find thousands of posts about the AG100.How does it compare to the aerogel 200? I've been curious about the aerogel 100 for a while but haven't been able to talk to anybody that's used it.
BP is correct. If you do a search here you'll find thousands of posts about the AG100.
Like Rabbit, I've been very pleased with the AG100. Thrilled, even -- it had been a long time since I was this excited about a new racquet. Imo, it's a groundbreaking design. Great fun to play with!...
*IF* Dunlop wants to tweak the design in a 4D version, I would suggest:
- increase static weight by 10 grams, distributed evenly throughout the frame
- go with the beautiful pj of the 4D 200 16X19 (see http://www.tenniswarehouse-europe.com/viewlarge.html?PCODE=D4D2R19)
- do not change anything else! (especially leave the string pattern alone -- 18X20 would compromise the 100's terrific spin potential)
BP is correct.
My dream 4D AG100 would have a little more swingweight (and a decent stock grip), and be a little less head-light.
Also, Dunlop puts out a quality product. They have a great stable of pros and don't seem reluctant to invest in tennis. I sure wish they'd change a little marketing, their racket sales could easily double in the US alone.
I totally agree! Also, Dunlop puts out a quality product. They have a great stable of pros and don't seem reluctant to invest in tennis. I sure wish they'd change a little marketing, their racket sales could easily double in the US alone.
Yes and yes. I think you guys are spot on. I think Dunlop is missing the boat a little on not putting out a 100 in their new line up. And please yes keep the open string pattern.

From a pure quality, fit and finish standpoint, in my extensive experience, Dunlop is above all the other brands. Their frames have beautiful high-quality paintjobs and they look like fine instruments. They are the "Lexus" of the tennis racquet industry, IMHO.
I think their racquets are too flexy for US tastes. US players seem to prefer stiffer frames from Wilson or Babolat.
Yep...on top of everything else, I bought 3 and they are spec-wise exact duplicates. Same weight/balance....Dunlop does it right. It makes me regret a 20-year absence...last Dunlop I played wth was the Maxply....
You may be right, although the senior crowd really flocked to Volkl for a while until Volkl decided to go head to head with Babolat. I find that the likes/dislikes for frame stiffness are about as varied as the sticks themselves at least around here.
Yup....I used to own 4 x AG100's and ALL of them were identical in specs - weight, balance, SW, etc., and I didn't even request them to be matched when I bought them. I almost never see Volkls anywhere anymore. It seems that was a short-lived phase that has passed. You may be right, although the senior crowd really flocked to Volkl for a while until Volkl decided to go head to head with Babolat. Funny, but early last year we here in the U.S. were saying the exact same thing - it'd be nice to be able to get the AG100 inside the U.S. - since it was sold just about everywhere around the world EXCEPT the U.S.I just think it'd be nice to be able to get the AG100 outside of the US.

Try that with Wilson.

^Thanks!
Oh and one other thing....ditch that plastic grip on the AG100 for the one that comes on the McEnroe racket. A leather grip should be stock on the 100!
However, I do like the TW thin/wide leather on there.

Seems almost EVERYONE is putting extra weight on their AG100, about 5-10g at each 3'O and 9'O.
They should come out with the heavier weighted AG100 Tour? Or just do the AG100 4D with the preferrable weight?

Hey i hate to say it
it pissed me off
but i heard there going to discontinue the 100
hopefully not
its an awesome customizing racket
I hit for a short time with Samster's stock AG 100 with an overgrip on it. I absolutely loved it. I think it had gut and Iso at about 55m 58 crosses. Absolute weapon if you ask me. My birthday is coming up. If I can get the family to chip in--it will be my holy grail. Love it more than the n90....
