The New Black RF97 is More Than A Paintjob

I'm starting to think that the first RF97 was the same stock mold that Fed used but this new one has also been modified spec wise to match what he actually uses. Wilson probably legally couldn't state so about the new one, since they said the first RF was his actual racquet. The new RF97 IMO is his actual racquet, the one he takes on the court, post mods.

This new frame has less of a clubby feel and is far far more maneuverable.

Didn't think of creating a poll until after I created this thread. Unable to do so now and thus the poll will be in another thread.

In that long *** thread they're saying the major difference between both RF's and his actual are less HL, less static weight (modded handle), and some lead at noon. How would that make it less clubby?

My main point is that the original and new one are different frames, i'm surmising that perhaps the new one is closer to what Fed uses. The latter i cannot be certain of unless I had one of his actual frames.

While I have an idea of the specs based on my game I would like in a new frame, what any 7.0 uses is not a selling point to me. Design by Peter Fig might catch my eye, play test determines if I will try to play with it I really just want to see Fed's real racket, wielded by Roger back on the courts.

It maybe the same racket but he uses a custom grip. Its like bigger on one side than the other, it was in another thread where he always uses the same side of the racket after spinning, catches it everytime

Quality control, or lack thereof. I've hit with the same Wilsons models(purchased at the same time even) which felt like different racquets. Different weight, balance, flex, feel, comfort.

Don't say "clubby". If might offend federer fans who owns the red RF. :D

P.S. I have seen same model of frame as much different weight as ~10g.

Curious have you measured the swing weight?

Coming from a 97 user, i could hardly use the RF97 when it was first released. I had the same feeling that Fed just couldn't be using the so called retail version as it, as most say feels like a club. 2 years Later, after much conditioning and workouts, i wish my 97 could be swapped for the RF97. Once dialed in the timing, this stick is just a next level weapon on court.
