Federer v Djokovic final incoming, after that Hopman Cup performance, they will keep Federer on opposite side, especially with the uncertainty surrounding Nadal's health. ;)

You'll see 01-03 amplified five-fold.

2 Slams a year by anyone will be a huge deal and there will be routine journeyman that luck out through a draw.

Just take a look at the ATP 500 level which isn't locked in by the Big 5 and you'll see what I mean.

2018
Basilashvili with 2
Medvedev
Zverev
Anderson
Coric
Cilic
del Potro
Agut
Schwartzman

2017
Tsonga
Thiem
Querrey
Lopez
Mayer
Zverev
Goffin
Pouille

Enjoy.

Surely you are not suggesting what i think you are suggesting:)

Sorry to interrupt..
But I am not understanding that what is hitman not suggesting that you think he's suggesting...!!!

How often have we had 2 ATGs sharing a high amount of titles at the same major compete in the same era?

Almost never...
Its like the rare of rarest chance

78-84 USO McEnroe vs. Connors while Lendl came in 82-85.
82-87 FO Lendl vs. Wilander.
87-93 WMB Becker vs. Edberg.

Now Agassi was streaky in the 90s but he absolutely wins more than 2 USO titles without Sampras directly in his way and arguably 2nd best fast hard court player just behind Sampras.

And then the hypotheticals, Roddick vs. Federer on grass. Lost directly on 4 occasions, probably wins the title all 4 times otherwise.

To properly summon Meles, stand in front of a mirror and hold a next gen finals photo between your lips while scrunching up a photo of the big 4 in each hand. Then say five times in a breathless, exalting tone "I've never seen anything like Thiem."

Works every time.

Does it also work with burning pictures of the Nadal?

Not that I have any, but maybe I can find some for the purpose.

I've always been told Big4 dominated because of homogenization

Excuse me? The only thing, that a new gen is capable of ending, is their own participation in GS tours in third or fouth round. Since Federer and Nadal are far after their peak, eny weaker Djokovic's season should be a huge chance for them. Instead, Roger took 3 slams in a past two years, so did Rafa and Novak returned and took to last of them. Even if any of a new gen will win a GS title this year, it wont be as meaningful as it could be at least 3 years ago.

The race to 7 is on

Too much epicness in this photo. To have been in an era, where the two greatest HC players of all time battled for supremacy and after all these years, at AO, nothing to separate them. Six titles each. Incredible.

How is that going to happen, when the ATP's hyped The Can't Win A Major Legion (Thiem, Nishikori, Kyrgios, Isner, Dimitrov, Simon, Pospisil, Tomic, Querry, et al), as of this date, continue to prove they is the most talentless generation 1/2 in tennis history? Even if by some miracle, one trips into a majors title, the "Big Three" are not going anywhere, and that's spelled doom for that major-less legion.

That would be an amazing final, both going for #7 and claims to AO greatest.

Having said that, I really hope for one or two of the NextGens to make a statement there, even if it’s just a final appearance.

Too late now, that ship has sailed so Federer might as well win as much as possible, doesn't even matter if they stop him now.

Well, why don't they do it? The only logical answer is they are not that good and Djokovic, Fed and Rafa are from another planet. It might be sad but it is what it is.

I can see Fed playing another 3 years. Why not? Connors was '141' yo when he retired. Djokovic doesn't have any intention of stopping playing tennis any time soon. Rafa is only 32 yo and he always finds a way to come back.
