We just had a case of a 19 yo boy killing a few people in his Mercedes the other night.
There's another famous case of some kid (Nanda iirc) who was stoned while driving his BMW and ran over a few labourers sleeping on the sidewalk. He must be living it up right now, but this kid the other night killed a cop or military person.
I am sort of middle-class, but there are some very rich people two lanes away from me. Ferraris Porches etc parked inside, and Mercs and BMW's parked on the street.
My dad thought he believed in communism or socialism or whatever it is. Never purchased any land for that reason, and also never asked for a hike in salary (and therefore never got one). All his friends were imploring my folks to buy some land or a house when it was cheap but he refused. We've been through hell because of that, fighting against the police, builders and what not -- just the two of us.
Funny thing is that my dad's friends, the real hardcore communists bought houses, had their children educated abroad and are now comfortably living on their childrens USD's with expensive nurses round the clock while we cannot afford any nurses or attendants for my mother (87 yo and bedridden).

It is very vulgar. There are places that are flooded by rains (Mumbai recently, Bihar and Bengal also I heard) and places where there is no water.
There is a lot of effort for rain water harvesting in Delhi, but a lot of wastage with people washing their drive ways and cars while people one lane away have not got water for three days.
A few months ago, my cousin sister married off her 3rd daughter in a Bollywood style wedding, it was garish, and thankfully I excused myself due to my mother's condition. But we were appalled at the videos they were posting on whatsapp. My uncle was saying there was single malt being served along with Black Label etc etc. And the return gifts, and the gifts given to eunuchs ... But this was nothing compared to the weddings these rich people do.
The wedding cards themselves were very expensive, and of course accompanied by boxes of various nuts coated with exotic stuff. Hundreds of such invitation, mind boggles at how much the invitation cards must have costed.
