The Next Gen having such weak results

The outcome is quite terrible.

Shapopalov: final in Paris and some good matches for the ATP cup. But then 3L in a row against Humbert, Fucsovics and now humiliated by his compatriot Pospisil.
Coric: disaster. Only 1 victory in his last 10 tournaments (ironically it was again Thiem) 8 defeats in a row in a 1st round.
Garin: lost all his matches in the ATP cup, 1st round and 2nd round in his 2 tournaments.
Khachanov: except a good week in Beijing, practically nothing since his SF in Canada.
De Minaur: injured and no idea when he is coming back.
Berrettini: very disappointing since the ATP finals, loses in 2nd round against Sandgren in the AO
Humbert: won the title in Auckland - that's great - but 2 defeats in the 1st round since then. Loses in straight sets against Lopez today.
Tiafoe: lost all his points from last year in the AO... and a lot of 1st rounds lately
Kecmanovic : isn't confirming his good season. 1st round in the AO and just lost early in a Challenger
Auger: lost all his matches in the ATP cup and 1st round in the AO.
Sinner: lost 4 of his last 5 matches since he won the Next Gen finals and a challenger. Just lost in straight sets today.
Popyrin: only beat an injured Tsonga and then lost in 3 sets against Medvedev... just had a double baggel against Mannarino today.
Rublev is having good results now but he always has so many ups and downs, I doubt it will last.
Zverev reached his first Slam SF, let's see if it was just a lucky strike or if he's really back.
Tsitsipas lost 2 of his 3 matches in the ATP cup and had a disappointing 3rd round in Melbourne. Certainly not what he'd expected.

Honestly, it's disappointing. There isn't one stable player in this group. Zverev and Rublev are the best Next Gen players in the Race at the moment, but how long can they keep this dynamic?
Shapopalov, Popyrin and Humbert getting destroyed by older guys like Mannarino, Pospisil and Lopez is quite humiliating for these young guys.

the Zverev Thiem AO SF match thread speaks for everything. TTW has been crying for ages about how they want the youngsters in the later rounds of slams and when they got it, the match thread was like 12 pages lol.

for comparison, the injured Fed straight sets loss SF match thread got like twice as many replies.

btw OP, is that baby Djovak in your avi? I can’t tell.
