Yes, from all reports he's a terrific young man. He plays the piano, is fluently bilingual, his mother is a teacher so he takes his studies seriously, his father teaches tennis but the family seems willing to let the pro's at Tennis Canada run the show and they're very protective of Felix. They know they have a special talent in him and they're trying to keep him grounded and bring him along slowly with juniors first, then futures, and now a few challengers. They could have thrown him into a few 250s but they don't want him to be overwhelmed with the pressure and the publicity.
It was bad enough when Felix first qualified for a challenger at 14 (youngest ever) and then did well in his first junior slam matches. At the 2015 USO Boys the stands were full of agents and managers and tennis hawks all wanting to have a look at him so they pulled his appearances back so he didn't get overrun with the hype. After he won the 2016 USO Boys championship they could made a lot of money for, and from, him but they were more concerned with his development and he and his family and his team tried to keep him out of the limelight as much as they could. If he can stay healthy, it's going to come for him anyway but it's good to know he has a strong base to work from.
I've been following him since he was about 13 and it's been a treat to watch him develop. He always had the magic dancing feet like Rafa and that movement is going to take him a long ways.
