Hope it sells for $119 in the states.
Does anyone know if it's a zoom forefoot or heel?

Sadly Nike is my favorite brand but they have lost their way! My kids love Nike too but since the vapor 9, 9.5, and 10 are gone we have lost interest. None of us like the new offerings. For the first time in many years we are looking to other brands for shoes. There was a time when we waited for the new color way and would never consider a different brand.

Thanks so much for being the first on deck with the big reveal!!
(Hopefully not a moderator issue.)
As mentioned, the vapor 12 should be Alcaraz's shoe for 2025; will there be his logo on it?
I wonder if the black part present in the heel is scotch, and serves to cover the zoom air unit which perhaps will be visible... or is it an "adaptive" type support..

Just got my good condition pair of 9.5s. Took a picture of 2/3 of my current Vapors. My VP2 clays are in my tennis bag as I play on mostly clay on the summers. You can tell in the picture that I made my ZV11s as an experimental shoe as I cut two extra eyelets so that I could create a runners' knot. Before then, I honestly didn't like using them that much and kind of put them aside for some warranty Rush Pros I had. When I cut the eyelets, it plays so much better. It doesn't feel like a brick to me anymore and feels more like a Gel Resolution but with more inconsistent grip. Regarding the 9.5s, should I scrub and clean them so they look as new as they can when I first take them out? I last played with these shoes in middle school so it's a big nostalgia thing (I like older shoes anyways, loved my pairs of Air Max Cages, GR6s, Solution Speed 3s).

Sick vapors mate. Congrats on getting the 9.5 back in the rotation. Small alcohol swabs do wonders for midsole/upper clean up on the 9.5 - could even use them to clean the outsole

Report back on how they feel - cheers !

I'd imagine they would, Id think this takes over as the vapor flagship silhouette again. Basically just one "off" generation in the V11. We can all forget about that one like we did the V3, V7, and V8. Then the VP3 likely to remain largely like VP2

Not sure. I think the 9.5 reissue and the limited Asia run of the VP1 indicate that they are looking to fill that hole in their lineup of the "classic" minimalist shoe

The V12 really does look like the second coming of the 9.5/X/VP1 though. Exciting stuff

Honestly looks like a mixture of:

- Mold of a vapor pro 1/ custom alcaraz vp1
- lacing system and tongue of a vp1
- Midsole of a vapor 6, and, if it has air units, kinda reminds me of vapor speeds (2005)
- general design of the shoe like a pure mixture of a 2000’s vintage shoe
- outsole: still unknown but it looks like it’s two pieces (carbon fiber in the middle?)

Really hope that there will be some lucid silver accents on the midsole to make them a little similar to the 2006 nike vapor speeds worn by Fed in USO

Look, i tried to line up the shoe from the pic, also look how similar they look to a “Frankestein”of a vp1 and a vapor 6, the midsole is really similar, can it be that they give it a carbon fiber part?

Honestly hoping it has the silhouette of the 6, upper of the 9, and a brand new midsole with some legit tech

Are you planning on playing in those?

I have been playing with my 9.5 and X clays, and I think that's part of why I tore my calf

Bummed about your calf. Sucks man. Id mostly chalk those things up to something kinetic. for me that means as incomplete dynamic stretching, breakdown in the kinetic chain (could be a risky step intentionally or an incidental situation like stepping on an errant ball), or true fatigue in the muscle due to overuse/recovery from atrophy

Man, I’ve been playing in NOS breathe cages from 2008, vapor 6s from 2009, vapor 9s from 2012, lunarballistecs from 2013, 9.5s from 2014, vapor flyknits from 2016/17, and vapor Xs from 2018 for the better part of 5 years (lately have mixed the GPT and VP1 into the rotation). Personally haven’t had a single issue or lower extremity injury. I get where you’re coming from if these models you were wearing were worn/losing traction & upper structural integrity

I do think models can be worn to hit/compete with if they are actually new condition shoes. I will die on that hill. I never wear anything past let’s say an 8/10 with traction either. I just have a lot of shoes lol allows for constant rotation & it helps my quads/calves are jacked which has taken a lot of pressure off of my ligaments over the years

I actually find the inverse of your learnings, old model/ new condition shoes that I have a true understand of the court/turf interaction are much safer for me to play in than anything of new Nike design. Especially all these slippery shallow traction patterns in the vapor 11 & vp2 hardcourt offerings. I played college tennis in vapor 9 and logged more hours on court with any shoe than the breathe cage 1/2. I trust those traction patterns a lot. Id take an NOS pair of those any day over anything Nike has done since the 2016/17 9.5 flyknit. Vapor X is a runner up, but point being I’d take either of those over the GPT, VP1, or anything they’ve done since. I got 7 pairs of the 9.5 / 9AJ3 last year so I’ve got new glue in a bunch of my pairs

Only a few vapor 6s and cages from 2008/2009 left that have old glue, but they are mint otherwise. I keep those for light hitting, but the 9/9.5/flyknit/X stuff that’s been done in the last decade i will and do play more intense tennis in. It’s a misnomer that footwear is a direct attributes 100% of the cause of any injury, unless you wore rainbow sandals or Ugg boots to play a set of tennis. Footwear is somewhere in there but I’d say 2-5% of the risk factors for injury equation at best? That’s my honest guess as someone who loves and collects shoes.Hope the calf gets better soon man

Clean pick up! I remember buying my first pair of the ZV9.5 in the Atomic Orange ala Indian Wells 2014. Fitted great like the ZV9 (all time favorite Vapor) with more breathability. Anyway, I remember Nike reaching out on IG wanting to post my picture as one of their post which I thought was the coolest thing ever. Too bad I can’t find the photo anymore since they shut down the NikeTennis account but also the picture is a decade years old so ‍♂️

I would further presume there is a difference between NOS and something that's been worn since 2015, like the Vapor 9.5s I suspect were the culprit

Also been wearing Crocs all summer and that has exposed some gait imbalances, IMO

Thanks bro, I’m stoked. I wanted these when they dropped in 2014 but just slept on them and missed the boat. Love the blue they used here

That’s awesome Nike reached out to use your pic. Send me your ig via pm, would love to follow if you post tennis gear !

Should I make a mock up? Any colors you want? I’ll try to incorporate elements from past vapors.
That would be really fun bro. Would gladly add to one of the OPs if you took the time to do so

Couple ideas:
  • Exposed air in heel like vapor speed
  • Fit frame like vapor 5
  • Flywire aesthetic like vapor 6
  • Adaptive fit like vapor 9
  • Heel nike swoosh like vapors speed/5/9/9.5/X
Couple goated colors for inspo
