Well I was going to clarify. Halep might not have the results of Henin. Today I think the WTA has more depth than back then. I think she gets a few majors. IMO she is more skilled and a better mover than Henin. But I think her mental strength has potential to be on that great level. Serena is getting long in the tooth in tennis years as well.

I'm liking Bouchard's chances at becoming the next #1 and multiple slam winner. She has the game, looks, and mentality, she's focused and ready to win. Really hope she can beat Sharapova and win the title.

Only been paying attention to Haleps side. Ok Bouchard has to take Sharapova. How does sharapova get this far why o why is not Serena in the draw still. WTA has to put Sharapova and Serena in the same half of draw in all tournaments.

I agree Henin was not scared of Serena. I think Halep has no chance against Serena. But I think she can go deep in the majors if Sharapova is not there.

Yeah, if Serena and Shriekapova fall early, Halep is a contender for any slam.

You're right about Bouchard. She needs to play with the focus and intensity she's been playing with in all of her matches. I think if she does manage to stay close to the baseline and grind Maria down then she has a good shot. We'll see tomorrow, should be a good one.

FFS,she has been to this stage many,many times before and is one of the best players. Why do the other players deserve to be there? They are nobodies by comparison

Genie is not grinding Maria down. She has to go for her shots,there is no way she's winning many long exchanges with Maria...

I'm not a big fan of Sharapova or Bouchard though I highly respect the fight and competitive spirit that Maria shows. Her screaming just makes me so mad when I hear it. The only thing I have against Bouchard is the way the WTA is trying to make her the next "it" girl before she has accomplished anything. If she can win this title then the hype can be justified but before that happens she just another squirrel trying to get a nut. If I were forced to pick a winner between the two I would go with Maria. But it would be nice to see the young guns (Halep and Bouchard) battling it out for the grand prize.

I disagree. It is more about match-ups than it is about who the more in form player has been throughout the tournament. Halep has been great but now she is coming up against a player who can overpower her in a way that her other opponents in the tournament could not. Obviously if Maria has a bad day and Halep is on, Maria could go out but I would not bet on that. I think the likely outcome will be Maria in three.
