The Official Angell Users Club

I think they are pretty busy right now. New ASL, Lime. I placed my order early on Tuesday and status ir still "processing". Strange thing that USA clients receives their sticks quicker than EU clients. :)
I think for TC frames it’s fair to say the processing takes around a week because of so many weight and balance options. K7 and ASL will be shipped the same or next day given they are in stock. Once the racquet ships it really depends on how big of a network hub for curriers each destination is. US and German customers usually get it overnight. Destinations like yours and mine... we have to be patient :)

I played a match last night with the ASL and hit with it again this morning. It is a very good racquet that bombs serves with easy access to heavy spin. The compromises between the ASL and my TC95s are very predictable with more forgiveness and a bit easier power vs more precision and touch. It takes a bit of time to start dialing in given comfort with TC95. I will not be trying Black Night in this frame as it is too soft for this head size. I think a more crisp string like BBO is more suitable. I also found an amazing TW deal on Tour XC 1.35g 10 pack so will try to close out the wider string spacing with thicker gauge string for more control/precision. I do like the feel and more friendly nature of the launch angle vs the TC100. It is a firmer feel with good feedback. I will play the ASL again in tomorrow’s USTA match.

You like it more than k7 red so far?

To be honest, I’m just not able to juggle three different racquets in my playing time so k7 red has been sitting in the bag. Certainly different racquets with the K7 having more whippy flexy open pattern and the ASL having a bit more of a tweener playability albeit pretty comfy

Yep, I'm ready to wait. Consistent quality and precise specs are more important for me than quick delivery. :)

How do other Lime users see this? It might be just me, but I really dont notice a lack of power in the stock Lime. I have it strung at 20/19 Kgs and find it pretty powerfull. Have to take full swing to keep the ball in.

How did you guys customize your lime? I find it amazing that you can play at such high static and swingweights.

Did anyone play head Lynx green or yonex poly tour pro yet in the lime?

In stock condition I thought the K7 Lime too flimsy and not powerful enough. However it depends on what you're used to. I am used to heavier frames like my TC95 63RA 18x20 12pts HL 330gr unstrung (with 4 grams lead at 10-11 and 1-2. I posted pictures of this earlier into this thread).
That's why I added a lot of lead to my K7 Lime. Strung with Head RIP Control 1.20mm and MSV CoFocus 1.18mm, Oehms Premium leather and Yonex SG overgrip and Pacific O dampener it is now 350 grams total with a balance of 32.4 cm. Still more maneuverable than with TC95 but a lot more solid and it is easier to hit deep baseline strokes as well with the higher balance.
The feel is very nice and a bit more muted than the TC95. It reminds of the feel of my Völkl C10 Pro as well.

Mine is 350g as well, after adding leather grip, some tungsten tape and overgrip. In stock form it felt too light for me as my TC95 is about 348g. With some added weight it’s very stable, maneuverable, with controllable power.

I just ended tinkering with my TC100+ and will see how it will play. It's now 353g 8pt hl strung, with dampener and overgrip.

Where did you add your lead strips and how much?

The whole package arrived at my office and I took the Cube set to be put in one of my other TC97 directly from the office to the stringer. The other two Grapplesnake sets are still sitting in my office desk. Forgot to bring them home.
The feedback and marketing description make me curious. Better it not to be just another generic poly string

Will there be any review ASL vs TC100, though? :)
Not a fair comparison, because TC100, the one I had in the closet is V2 with hefty SW347 and RA60 strung. ASL is less demanding, swings faster and is probably better suited for modern game. But then again what is modern game? I am so used to that lower flex and ball staining longer on the strings, that it took time to adapt to crisper and more direct response of ASL. No doubt it is good racquet, the power and comfort is definitely there.

I wasn't even least bit impressed after an hour of hitting, to be honest. I hope it can make me change my mind today but kinda doubt it. So far it comes off as a typical run-of-the-mill super stiff, harsh feeling, square (ish) poly. Amazing spin but terrible feedback. Would take your arm off in a stiffer racquet if strung tight, for sure.

I haven't heard much about it in terms of marketing here in the US. I got it only after reading about it here on TT. Only three types of strings available here too and I can't get them 'officially' till next month. I think US distribution is very small term as of right now. Has it picked up in Europe a lot?

Prince Tour XC 1.35 going in on all my Angell racquets since everything is open pattern. The idea is to offset the open pattern and test all of them with a wider poly

If anyone is shopping I have two TC95 18x20's to sell. Just need to pull up the specs. Rackets are in great condition. I also have one TC90 that's like new. All L3 size grips, Prince shape IIRC, shape B.

Played with TWs SW calculator today and found out my TC100 has 347 SW...no wonder I'm allways late on my backhand...lol

Really can't wait to have your opinion about the Grapplesnake CES Neon Dust/Liquid Neon Dust hybrid, man!!!!!! :D

I may pull the trigger next week to buy a TC100, I have a big question: Which orange colored string or copper colored string that perform best to TC100?

Playtesting my APD 2010 and PAT and from there, I'll choose either 300g/325 or 310g/315 would work best for me.

For a minute, I was going to say Firestorm since that has a copper color, but thats a powerful poly. In general, it depends on your playstyle and preference when it comes to strings. TC100 is a decent powerful racket, I would use a co poly to give it a bit of control.

Thanks, currently testing Signum Pro Poly Plasma, also bought Wilson Revolve and test before buying TC100. My go to string currently is RS Lyon and reading good reviews on that string for TC100

Prince Tour XC 1.35 testing has been pulled back a bit. Already sold my TC100 and K7 string barely has 2 hours on it so It’s ASL and one of my TC95s for the ride. Should have them back in time to hit on Friday

SPPP fits the colour, however, it is a bit dead for me. But when I hybrid mains SPPP and Co-Focus crosses - it works great.
Are you testing Revolve Spin or regular Revolve?

Regular Revolve since the spin don't have orange in TW site, and staying away to shaped string because it splits grommets, or so to what I read so far.

i think i gel better with the TC100 63RA than the K7 Red these days, so i am very tempted to get another pre-loved TC100 63RA (original spec - V2, 16x19, 300g, 325mm, L3, grip A).
let me know if there is one floating around... lol
i think i'd happy to exchange/sell the K7 Red too....

There is one close to your specs in EU sales thread, only balance is slightly more HL and B4 handle. :)

Thanks, i saw that the other day.
i remembered it was difficult to get spare pallets for the TCs.... otherwise it'd be a good option as i am in the UK.

edit - just read that again and realised it was your advert. not too concerned about the static weight and head balance as my current TC100 has been modified thanks to @saleem. i am more concerned about the grip size and shape as i am a 4 3/8 + OG and used to use a Head racket for quite a long time previous to the Angells.... :)

Lol I have 3 matched TC95s so just one of them will be included in the wider string experiment. Overall frames included will be TC95, TC100, ASL and K7
Interesting. I have a pack of XC laying around that I've never thought to use. But the TC100 needs new strings so maybe I'll give it a go as well.

Guys, does anyone know the thickness of Angell leather grip? And also, has anyone tried the Angell hybrid grip, how thick is it and how does it compress compared to leather? :)
