So I am officially in love with fb of soft co-poly (1.18mm & 1.19mm gauges and round & shaped types) at very low tension. My previous string setup were fb of multi or syn gut.
Strung up K7 Red, TC100 63RA and TC95 16x19 63RA at 33lb/31lb and they felt amazing, very nice pocketing. Had some good drilling sessions and leagues matches so far, very pleased with the new setup.
They all have similar setup in terms of weight/balance/SW. the K7 Red plays slightly different to the TC lines, but still nice to play with.

What co-poly are those?

What would be the main differences you will notice when playing the ASL3 and the ASL2?

ASL3 specs:
Headsize – 100″
String Pattern – 16×19
Weight -295g / 10.4oz
Balance – 325mm / 6 pts HL
Stiffness – 66RA
Swing weight – 285

ASL2 specs:
Headsize – 97″
String Pattern – 16×19
Weight -310g / 11oz
Balance – 315mm / 9 pts HL
Stiffness – 62RA
Swing weight – 290

To me it is Prince TT95 (2015) but TC95 has much more power.
Totally agree. I used the TT95 for a long time, loved it. The TC95 I had was similar but less pop for some reason.

My TC100s are similar spec to the TT95 though higher swingweight. Super fun lol

I would also echo what other say saying the TC95 is very similar to the TT95. The TT95 has more of a control feel to it while the TC95 has more power behind it. I used both for them for a good amount of time, I ended up picking the TC95 as my go to as I dont have to tinker the specs as its just perfect for me while the TT95 will require customization to get it where I want it to be.

Is the Pro Staff 97S or Blade 98S playing like the TC95 16x19?

I like the TC95 easy power, the Prince TT95 would be too low powered for me.

It also depends on the which TC95 you get, the 63 RA plays equally the same as the TT95 but the 70 RA definitely more powerful. With that said the Pro Staff 97 16x19 comes close as it was based off the 6.1 95 back in the day.

I agree with this. The 63ra I got was not powerful at all compared to my Prince - with equal specs, strings, tension. I found low powered, almost dull unfortunately. The TC100 ended up more the power I wanted.

Have any ASL2 users found a go-to/favorite string yet?

I started with Black Knight 1.28 and like it, but still find the set up a bit too powerful on forehand side. Curious what others are using...

I have Max Power 1.25 or 16g Silver 7 Tour that I think would tame it a bit. Other considerations in my bag off the top of my head include: Ytex Hexagon-X (black/1.28), Ice Code (16 and 17g), Yonex Poly Tour Spin and Spin G, RS Lyon 17.

I have a ASL3 3 and i didnt like it when I used Yonex Poly Tour Pro. I will have to find a stiff poly to compliment the amount of power the racket has compared to my TC95. I will also have to string it a bit tighter to reel in the power to make it useable in my hands,

Has anyone compared the Yonex Vcore pro 97 to the TC100? I know it's not the same head size, but in terms of flex, power? I used one briefly and couldn't remember. My TC100 310g, 63ra. Thanks!

That's very similar to my experience thus far with ASL2. I'm also coming from a TC95. Since I like the feel of Black Knight 1.28 in the ASL2 at 50#, I'll probably go up to 54# with BK before switching to a new stiffer string.

I have to say the K7 Red is quite a unique frame that offers a lot of room for customization along with the super buttery feel, great spin and super comfortable! It kind of reminds of a larger Prestige Classic with more pop and spin. There are not many modern racquets made today like the K7 Red. The only negative for me is the esrly string breakage as my arm can't handle poly string. I use the K7 Red along with the new Blade 98 16 × 19 v7.

Hi guys it has been long time since I posted (came by and looked through but did not post) I had a bad bout of frozen shoulder in March and finally getting better, just picked up my racket few weeks ago and hit some ground strokes, serves and overheads, high volleys are not possible yet but ground strokes are ok and I am happy what ever I can do on the tennis court:)

It took my doctor a while to figure out what the problem was, I initially went in with sore shoulder where I could not sleep at night, he knew I played lot of tennis he was guessing it was torn rotator cuff I got MRI done and there was nothing torn, radiologist wrote to my doctor that I have "shoulder impingement" I knew that without spending $850 on the MRI that I could not move my shoulder and I had an impingement, I did some homework and decided I wanted the upper thurasic adjustment, made appointment with Chiro and he diagnosed it frozen shoulder and said that it can take 8-24 months.
After doing some readings it appears that if your blood sugar is high or you had a stroke you have 25% higher risk to get frozen shoulder, I went on LCHF diet (low card high fat) blood sugar came down to normal after 3 months, frozen shoulder went to 2nd phase, got 5-6 chiro adjustments and it is on the right track.
Thank you for your concerns @topspn @haqq777 @djNEiGht and @edelp

I have not. All of my Angells came with leather, but I'm pretty confident that the synthetic is around 14-15g, and the Hybrid Pro is 20g (same as other Angell leathers).

Also wondering if anyone has tried Paul's new copper grip for V3 frames? Looks kind of gimmicky but cool.
Agreed, the leather is 6g heavier

Hi BHBH, it is similar to how you would string a TC95 16x19.

I remember reading on a Facebook post where Angell officially said to string the TC97 16x19 like you would string a TC95 16x19

Screenshot below:

Thank you! I was actually asking about string selection and tension. I’m an internet 2.5 with a big serve who plays an all court game and needs control more than power but am emphasizing comfort in my set ups to try and preserve my body to play for years to come. I generally like full poly and didn’t care for the RS Lyon so many mention here.,,, thanks!!! BHBH

Ok, thanks . Will test it as well. Am going up in gauge and like cyclone 1.30 quite a lot in the TC100, not too powerful

Switched to all poly 8 months ago because of string breaking in PD and clash tour. Currently playing with TC95 16/19 ra63 string with technifibre razor at 45#.

I ordered a TC100 16-19 62ra and it’s arriving today or tomorrow.

Anyone using a multifillment like NXT in TC100

Any string suggestions?

Personally I would try your string of choice first in the TC100, but maybe up the tenion a couple lbs. I used my TC95/TT95 at 45/42 with a 17g shaped poly, and have now upped the tension in the TC100 with Toura BHS7T to 47/44 because it's so much easy power. Just my experience and opinion :)

sounds like a good idea plus it’s gonna drop tension fast.

Got my ASL2's delivered yesterday. Hat's off to Paul as they made it from UK to my door in US in 1.5 days. Specs were on point at 310 and 310.4g each and 315mm balance for both. Picked up some hybrid pro grips in case I want a little more weight in the handle. Heading out of town and nursing an arm issue so won't get to hit with them for a bit but they are gorgeous frames.

Fellow ASL2 owner. Love the frame. Eager for your input regarding string choice, as I'm still fine tuning. What racket are you coming from out of curiousity?
