Any other users here try out the TC99? Curious for more feedback
Ordered one but with different specs than my other Angell rackets ( normally 315/31, now 305/32)
I also played with a React 96 but never with a React 99 MPP.
The TC99 is a fantastic racket. Lots of feel and control!
There is something about foam filled rackets that I really like. The feel, the stability!
I normally play with a TC95 16X19 or a TC97 18x20.
The TC99 adds some power but still so much feel and control!.
One thing stands out for me; serving is so easy. It added a weapon to my game.

What's the length n width inside the frame on the tc99? Tnx

Had some playtime with my TC99 and first impressions are good. I've been playing with 100p for the last year so I'll be comparing it with that.
Serves are pretty good, but it will take some time to find more speed.
OHBH is great, easier depth and speed than with the Prince tour 100p.
Forehand is solid enough but I find it more difficult to add topspin. When I do manage a good hit (FH and BH), the result is a much heavier ball.
Backhand volleys are great, but on the forehand my timing is off. My technique sucks on the FH volley anyway.

Comfort for my elbow is also important and it is on par with the 100p (2015 version). No pain whatsoever the next morning which was my main concern.

No idea what the swingweight is on this unit but based on the "issues" I am having I guess it is substantial higher than my 100p.
To me it feels more like the TC95 than TC100, so I guess the string pattern has a bigger impact than headsize.
All in all a great racket from Paul. Will it be good pick for you? Only one way to find out...

Just got an Angell React MPP 18x19. Strung it up with Weiss Cannon Mosquito Bite 1.19mm, which I had in my drawer. Had never used the string before.
I must confess I'm less than impressed. Super super muted, can't tell if my ball is going long or bouncing before the T. Also thought it is way more powerful than I thought, and feels a bit mushy.
Blade 100 user here.
Question is whether I got the string completely wrong, or if comparatively my perception of the racket makes sense.
Ok so switched to Confidential 1.25mm.. much better, that Mosquito Bite srting is trash.
Still didn't gel too much with the React. I don't know how to explain it too well, but I can't really feel the ball all that well. Compared to my Blade 100, it's tough to understand where in the stringbed I struck the ball, and to gauge how deep it's going to go. Kind of muted I guess. It really plays more like an Ezone than a Blade, which is a bit surprising to me given the thin beam and low RA.

Can you give us the length n width of the head shape from inside frame? Want to compare with other angell rackets ,tnxx

So you went for the axe. Sounds very tempting to order one myself!

Does the TC99 serve more like the TC100 and play more forgiving than the TC95/TC97?

I still didn't myself as I'm not sure about what balance/weight (and maybe length as well).
Earlier I ordered TC95 and TC97 18m with 330/305 and a 300 sw but I am also curious if I can benefit from a bit extended length frame (27.25 inch) with my serves and net game.

I also want to try a lighter setup if that will be still powerful and solid enough and less tiring during tough matches.

So difficult to decide (as I don´t like to customize my frames all the time). Maybe I just better play safe and select the same setup as my previous Angells.

Anybody have some experience with the TC90 (v5) racquets? Hitting experience? Soft feeling? Stringing recommendations? Thanks!
I have one that I've been trying to sell. The Angell frames are very nice. For a mid, the TC90 plays very well, probably the most "modern" mid that is available. I prefer the PC2.0 to it as the latter has the rock solid unique feel to it.
But the TC90 is a stiffer which gives it more power and able to hold up from the back of the court in this era of baseline bashing.
With mids, I recommend you go low with poly (low 40s) or use a hybrid setup to get some extra pop.
I've never used gut so know if that would be the ultimate set up...

So its just on the K7 line... I was planning on grabbing a second hand K7 red but I can only find L2... If it runs larger indeed it might suit me...

Has anyone else tried contacting them with no luck?
I've emailed them multiple times, and they do not reply. It's unfortunately that customers must call a UK number in order to get their attention. It's terrible service for people who reside outside the UK such as myself.

does Angell have WhatsApp.... or do you pay international calling rates to your mobile provider?
They do have WhatsApp and answer. Roaming cost has been suspendere in Europe meaning I can call most countries in the world at domestic prices, International calling rates should luckely be something from the past for most countries.

I use TruPro Strings. So I've used black Knight and black Knight/Ghostwire hybrids.

Huge fan of their strings
Those are stiff strings to be used in a 90, don't you think? I was thinking 1 20mm ptp for round or hyper g soft 1.20mm or even 1.20mm msv +38 for power n spin

I play polys and Ghostwire is a very soft string. Black Knight is middle stiffness poly. Durafluxx is their stiffer offering.

Yeah, I think if I buy one I would use Wilson Natural Gut 16/1.30 String or something like Ashaway MonoGut ZX 16/1.27 String Natural at 52 Lbs tension.

I've been playing with the Head Prestige Classic 2.0 for the past 8 months, and the Yonex Vcore 95 for most of 2023, so it's been a while since I've played with an Angell.

But the TC99 has really intrigued me, especially that 18x19 pattern, so after a quick call with Paul yesterday, I've taken the plunge and ordered one.

Specs requested:
- 27 in.
- 315g / 310mm
- A shape pallet
- leather grip
- 297 SW +/-1

Note for those who were enquiring about the SW: the number of 294 is that for a weight of 300g, and would gain a few points of SW with heavier configurations. The 315g I asked for generally comes out at 296 according to him.

Very curious to see how this is going to play. I will string it with Lynx Tour, and shall report here when I've had a couple of hits with it.

Finally I pulled the trigger and I ordered a TC99 27.25 inch length - B grip shape - leather grip - 325g/310mm HL with a preferred 305 SW.

I selected the weight/balance and swingweight based on my customized Prince Phantom 100x 18x20 (347 grams - 31.8cm - 335 SW strung with TF Multifeel 1.25).

I hope I don't regret this.

I'll be interested to hear how you get on as we play almost the exact same specs and strings. Ex 6.1 user? I've extended my hotmelt 300G to 27.25 and it's great, much prefer it to 27.5. I'm sure you'll love it

I read a lot about the pros and cons of extended length racquets here with mixed comments before I finally ordered my first one.
Some mentioned they didn't notice any difference compared to a standard length regarding more reach whereas others do.
As I am not the tallest player (176 cm) with a one handed backhand I decided to choose a 27.25 inch one. Besides a 27.5 one 'll have a too high swingweight to me as well.

I'll report my experiences on the TC99.

I didn't play with a 6.1 but some of my former sticks were similar but with a little lower RA i.e. the Völkl C10 Pro, TC95 18m and 16m, TC97 18m and Prestige Pro 18x20 Aux 1.0.

However the colourful paintjob does remind me of the Wilson PS Classic.

Looking for a recommendation on an Angell racquet. I'm 51, 4.0 serve and volley player that hits looping topspin forehand and topspin and slice one handed backhand. I balance my court time between singles and doubles.
I currently play a Prince OG 107 with a static weight of 368 grams - (leather grip, no lead tape) I really like a heavy racquet. I played the OG 110 version in high school 30 years ago :)
Anyway, I started searching for a more arm-friendly frame as my elbow has been flaring up from time to time. I've tried various string setups in the Prince and currently prefer natural gut mains and poly crosses in the 62-64 lb range. I've tried stringing at a lower tension but the balls would sail on me. Any tighter and the arm shock is severe.
I've demo'd the following:
Percept 97H - like the weight and feel but the dislike the rectangle shaped hoop and seem to mishit more. I know - move my feet.
Whiteout XTD 18x20 - probably my favorite in terms of feel but lack spin and plow through according to my playing partners.
ProKennex Kinetic Pro 7G - felt dead in the hand, my wife loves it and plays with it now.
I'm considering these:
Considering the TC in a 330 gram and React models in a 315 gram but may need lead tape.
Head Gravity MP XL
Solinco Whiteout or Blackout 305 XTD - with 16x19 pattern
Any advise here is appretiated. Thank you.

As you seem to prefer the (firmer) feel of the Solinco Whiteout I would consider the TC97 16x19 330 grams 10 or 12pts HL in a 27.5 inch (or maybe 27.25 inch) length. A swingweight of 305 with a 27.25 inch length would be possible I guess (as a 1/4 inch will add ca. 8 points sw). However you can request your preferred swingweight with your order. Contact Angell about this if possible.

Carreau - I noticed you have several Angell frames. I've read on other posts in this forum that the 95, 99 and 101 play similarly, and the 100 has a different feel. Have you ever tried the 101 for a comparison?

No, unfortunately, my experience is limited to 95 and 100. These two are the same D beam family members.

I'm not Carreau but I played with several Angells (TC95 18M 16M, TC97 18m and TC100).

I don't think the TC101 feels like the TC95 or TC100.
The TC101 is the big brother of the TC97 whereas the TC100 is the bigger version of the TC95 16m.

The TC95 and TC100 have the D-beam construction and same RA 64 stiffness (though the TC100 is also available with a RA 71).

The TC97 and TC101 are more of a box beam design and they have a higher RA 67 stiffness as well.

Tip: Read the descriptions of the frames on the Angell website.

Anyone know any buttcap replacements that will fit a K7?
I have used new prince buttcaps without issues like movement on the cyan xl. I always put a thin layer of double-sided tape at the end of the pallet as precaution when using different brand buttcaps. I think you will find many generic ones will fit.

I think transitioning from a POG 107 to a 95 or 97 sq.in. frame is going to be a bridge (or two) too far in terms of tolerance on off-center shots.

This leaves the TC 99 / 100 / 101 in contention, assuming you want to size down from your current 107 (the TC105 is probably going to be too close). So far, I have only had experience with the TC100 (64RA version), which is soft on the arm, has a lot of free power and is spin friendly. The downside, at least for me, is the extreme launch angle, which made it difficult to control. It's a very open 16x19 pattern, even more so than the 16x18 pattern on my Prince Classic Graphite 100. The TC101 has the same string pattern as the TC100, the only difference being its box beam construction vs. D shape for the TC100, and different stiffness (67 vs. 63 or 71). Coming from a box beam POG 107, and seeing that your other listed option also have a box beam (Gravity, Whitheout), I would venture that you'll probably feel more at home with the TC101 than the TC100.

On the point of stiffness, remember that Angell gives all its measurement unstrung (unlike TW), meaning that a TC100 6R4A will effectively be 61RA once strung and the TC101 67RA will be 64RA strung. If your arm is causing you pain, I'd stay away from the TC100 71RA as a high 60's RA might cause too much shock. I'd also be careful with extended length frames, as the additional SW might add more exertion to your arm than you would like. If you really like them, perhaps 27.25 is the way to go rather than 27.5. On the same note, I know you like a very heavy racquets, but it's worth considering a slightly lower static weight as well to minimize the strain on your arm. Perhaps starting with a 320g / 10pt HL configuration would serve you well, and then you can always add a few grams of lead as required. It should already feel very solid at those specs.

The TC99 specs are really interesting, but I don't have any experience with it yet, as the one I have ordered is still at the stringer. I don't plan to play until next week, but will report my impressions on this board when I do, if you care to wait that long.

Like the others have said, calling Paul would be the easiest way to get the best advice.

I still have a couple of Prince POG 4 stripes. For a while I had the TC100 64RA with leather and it seemed like a modern POG OS. It even reminded some other players/coaches of the POG. The pattern IIRC is a bit more open in the TC100 but this might be something to consider. and very arm friendly

for arm friendly with your list, the Yonex, PK and maybe the Head Gravity might fit the bill. Solinco Whiteout IMO needs mods if you are used to the heavy static/SW of your prince. I'd prob stay away from the blackout from your list if arm health is a top concern. I feel it's a decent racquet but it prob shines best played on the lighter side and will be very different type of racquet
