I didn’t really have any complaints but decided to add 3g tungsten to 3&9 on one of my TC95s just to see how it plays. It started to bludgeon the ball  On volleys the string bed started to feel more springy. Serves were simply kickass!. Anyway, i didn’t favor the more springy feel with the added weight and thought I needed to up the tension with the added weight. I like the overall playability without this weight addition so off it goes.

Can anyone tell me the main differences between K7 and Tc97 310grs, 18x20?

I’m seeking a more controll oriented pattern but I found the open pattern K7 pretty good for that too!

I have 1/2 gram each side on my tc95s, it works well and brought my MgR/I closer to desired specs.

The TC97 18x20 is stiffer, has a lower launch angle and a smaller sweetspot.
On the other side it produces a better slice backhand and is a little more precise, in my opinion. The K7 is better for spin.

Specs are pretty much bang on for me, I'll update the thread with my thoughts when my new K7 Lime arrives :)

Unstrung SW should be 290 btw

My guess is- it’s cheaper. Change the drill pattern on K7, paint it green and use existing grommets from TC95/TC97 18x20.
While for TC100 18x20 new mould for grommets is needed.

hmm..I’d tend to think that’s a small cost compared to tooling changes for new drill pattern to the frame, flow pattern, etc. Anyway, I am not an expert by any means on racquet manufacturing.

I’m no expert either [emoji4]I remember someone mentioning that costs for the new grommet’s mould is around 7K £. Probably no big deal for big manufacturers, but considerable investment for smaller manufacturers.

this is the overall investment for tooling change not just grommets. I had this conversation with you know who ;)

Seriously? I have never seen that in an 18x20 before. Still i suspect similar to TC95 and TC97, it would have 8 mains in the throat.

Yeah there are a few, the 100p is a beauty and I feel the 6 mains make it great. My racquet the 97s 2015 also has 18mains and 6 in the throat!

The K7 Lime sounds very interesting to me as I was just looking for a little more forgiven frame (with a bigger headsize and a little lower swingweight) than my TC95 18x20 63RA.

I was considering to buy one of the following Dunlop CX 2.0 Tour or NT Tour (both in 18x20 and 16x19 versions) or CX 2.0 but Paul announced the K7 Lime just in time.

Now I think I still would rather buy the K7 because the continuity of the Angell models and the over frame grommet structure (where you can hide your lead strips underneath).

I read on Instagram that the K7 has a swingweight of 290 (unstrung) 315 grams and 10pts HL balance. I guess I'll replace it with a leather grip and add about 5 grams at 3 and 9 o'clock position in order to achieve a similar weight and balance as my TC95.

Now I would like to see more pictures of the emerald K7! :D

Same SW as the 'Red' so I wouldn't expect a big difference in power tbh

I agree. The K7 Red is a low power racquet. The problem is that in trying to increase her potency, she totally loses control. I could not find a balance. This new version at 18x20, I think it will enable a higher level of power, with a lot of control.

18/20 would be more low power but definetely would like to see some reviews, the K7 Red is significal less power than the tc95 you have?

Yes 18x20 has less power, but in this pattern you can increase power with more control. The K7 Red has less power than my TC95 16x19 63ra.

After four months I found V3 TC 95 16x19 it is a completely different frame than V2 ... Less power ... Different flexibility ...Less maneouvrable but more control and stable...
Do you found something similar ?

I guess because not everyone wants to customise their sticks, and this is/should be a better overall stock setup for a doubles frame.

I've made my reds way more head light anyway so for me it just means less weight in the handle to get to my preferred specs.
Why the increase in weight? 305g and Paul would have gotten my money straight away. I can customise myself..

It is minute bit different. A bit better connection and control does seem to be a tad better.

only thing that let the k7 red down for me was the lack of plough. Didn’t mind it being low powered, felt frame had excellent control for a 16x19. I don’t quite know what the characteristics of the lime will matchup with the red? I’m guessing with the extra weight of the lime, similar power with more plough/stability and control? Interested.

The extra weight comes from extra silicone in the cable (10 grams more). This will provide greater comfort, however in the matter of power in theory will be lower due to the racket possessing the same swingweight and denser string

I have the V1, V2 and V3 in the same specifications. I also have the feeling that the V3 is less maneuverable, has more control and more stability, but has maintained the same power level. My V2 and V3 have the same swingweight (307 unstrung).

Absolutely spot on regarding lack of plow. I could not dictate play with that stick even after adding weight. I did only play with it for a week and sold it so perhaps not a fair shake but initial impression was a downer for me.

By contrast, I am really liking my V3 TC97 18x20. Not the same plow as I get from my TC100 obviously but it has better plow, and control than K7. I am still finagling with string choices but I am really digging the feedback and slowly getting my groove back. I use Babolat POP at times and I am getting some really good PIQ scores lately.

I am also interested in K7 Lime and look forward to reviews here. A direct comparison with TC97 18x20 would be nice. And like you, I am also curious about a direct comparison with K7 Red.

I'm in the UK so hopefully should get mine pretty soon after it's dispatched on the 17th, should get some decent court time with it over Xmas too for a review/comparison with the k7 red.

remove staples from the butt cap, remove 2 larger staples from the middle of the pallet, use an exectu knife to slice the glue where 2 halves meet, peel it off slowly.
