There is not even a trap door on the K7 lime, so that decreases our ability to customise the racket even more.
Yeah, I just got mine, not too fussed but it does state it on the website.

Edit:
Actually, you can open the trap door. Just need a small flat-head screwdriver. Not as easy as other brands, but it's there. Also, seems to be silicon in the handle.

So I bought the tc97 and love it.

Thinking about picking up a used tc95 330g that's 12hl, so it should play similar to my rf97a.

Can anyone give a comparison of the 97 and the 95?

Thank you

Look for @SpinToWin his posts here. He tested both a while back. @Geoff also did. Both like the TC97 a lot.

I would advise you take a week of from work and read this whole topic. It is worth it. I own all Angells except the 105. I have tried so many rackets but keep coming back to Angell.

The 97 is much more stable than the 95.
The 97 has a much lower launch angle than the 95.
The 97 is weaker than the 95 at same specs.

The 95 swings a little faster than the 97.
The 95 launch angle is comparable to a Babolat Pure Aero

I had an hour hit with a buddy this morning with ASL3 333.8g, 6.5HL and BBO@48lbs. Damned now we’re talking :) The extra weight certainly brings this frame alive for me. I don’t think anyone is gonna need to hit bigger then this baby so power on tap is very generous. And the sweet spot which also felt generous so a forgiving hit for sure. It smacks a serve big and felt comfortable on my OHBH. Even slice seemed easy and didn’t require anything special on my part. Very comfy, I had zero issues there and BBO is not exactly a comfort string. Feel is good as well and a flex that is in between the 63 and 70RA. This has a shot of being my favorite 100 in the Angel line

If I’m not mistaken your ASL has grip size #3, but your TC95’s grip size #4?
Is it true size #3 the grip on ASL or it runs little bigger?

Oh boy. Another real contender it sounds like. So, feel on ASL3 versus TC 95 and K7Red? Does it feel like evolution of the V3 foam filled customs?

The Clash did not bring me any revolution but ASL3 far outshines it and more revolutionary. Feel is a bit different from the V3 TC line probably due to the flex in between 63 and 70 and reaction from the siloxane.

How would you compare the comfort between the two? I’ve heard varying things about the clash - some people say it plays stiff despite the flexibility and others say it’s comfier than the ultra tour...

How does the ASL3 compare to the tc100? I’ve got a modded tc100 that a buddy loves hitting with and is considering trying to pick one of those up or a K7 red, but wondering if an ASL might be a better fit.

Lol you are providing very little to go on here. I hit the ASL for an hour stock then modified to 334g/6.5HL. After I added the weight it most certainly deserves a look. So if you’re willing to take one persons opinion whose hit with it for an hour then be my guest

Last times I only played with my K7 Lime as I indeed try to switch.

The K7 Lime has the perfect headsize to me and it plays very similar as the TC95 18m regarding ball launch and directional control.

Both frames have a different feel. The TC95 has that satisfied solid feel with a twack sound because of the foam filled construction whereas the K7 Lime has a more muted vibration free touch/feel that reminds me of the Völkl C10 Pro. No coincidence as these frames have a graphite/kevlar composition.

I am not sure which feel I prefer. Honestly I miss that solid twack of the TC95 a little bit but I am getting more and more used to the feel of the K7. In stock condition the K7 is not as heavy and solid as my TC95 but after I customized my K7 with lead it feels solid enough and stll very maneuverable to me.

The K7 Lime just plays so much easier than the TC95 as it is much more maneuverable and more forgiven. I noticed that I am able to hit half volleys successful more often than with my TC95. The touch of the K7 is just great!

My only minor issue is that the grip size 3 feels slightly too small to me. Even if I amply overlap my overgrip as it'll shrink after a few hours of play.
I want to try a grip 4 but I am not sure if the K7 Lime can be replaced.
I agree with you. The Lime K7 is more forgiving than my tc95 16x19. I miss the power and spin that tc95 provides, especially of the spin, which at some point is missing. I like to play with 2, I do not have a favorite lol.

How is the new Oehms one compared to one of yore? Is the new material really that different?
I think it is a bit different so it is not that calf skin but in order to give the new one some feel and tack they textured it a bit. It seems good to me and bevels feel nice. It is not heavily padded and cushy like some other leather grips like prince or Volkl but that works for me

Cool. Is it lighter and flimsier than previous one then? Also are you going au naturel or will you be using overgrip over it?

Untrimmed it still come out a bit over 28g. I did stretch it as I wrapped it so once trimmed it came to 23g. I will still use my normal super grap OG

I've been using the 6.1 95 18x20 for a few years but i was thinking of trying out the TC 95 18x20 using the heaviest customizable option (330 grams 10pt HL). Anyone here know how that would compare feel wise and power? Also, those RA spec choices (70 or 63) I'm assuming are unstrung? So strung up it would go down in RA correct?

I know this is a long shot but I'll still ask. I am wondering if any of you who have hit with the K7 Lime have also played with the Boris Becker 11 MP 18/20? That is my current stick of choice but am only down to 2 of them now and looking for a future replacement. My sticks are both 346g with YPTS 50/46 with OG and damp. I know I would for sure add weight at noon or 10 and 2. But I'm curious about the string spacing differences from my racket. Anyhow, anything may help.

It has been a really long time since I’ve hit with the 6.1 and it was just a demo so I truly can’t make a good comparison between the two. I still think the TC95 is the more forgiving stick and has better power. The TC95 is a pretty special frame in either string configuration. It serves amazingly well and volleys with put away power or touch. The new V3 are also an improvement in feel so hopefully if you decide to get one you’ll enjoy it too.

Lithuanians and their country houses
My ex is from Vilnius, so many pictures of the lakehouse on her FB. Watched "The Other Dream Team" with her and her friends, they cried at the end. Required watching.

Also had first full hit with K7 Lime today. At 355g, 32cm, Gosen AK Pro (waiting for VS Team in the mail) mains @57lbs, Max Power Rough 18 crosses @47 lbs on a hand crank machine. I really had to take a full cut to keep it in but I also had a serious tailwind. With my similar spec Duel G and Tour G with Champions Choice I don't have to go through the ball as much, seems really important with the 18x20. But I was crushing the forehand, very intoxicating. The OHBD was not as lethal as with the Yonex, but it was grooving more after two hours.

Volleys were great, pickups and half volleys, when the ball was at a low velocity, did not work out as great, is does not pop off the strings like the Yonex. It was also 45 degrees, but the Yonex reacted better with those shots. Slice was almost as good when doing normal underspin, but not on par when carving sidespin. Probably because the hoop is a lot more stable. I guess it's a trade off, but the Lime swings so much easier than the Yonex, it does not feel feel it's weight when slicing through the air. I did not attempt to serve in the because of the wind.

The Lime does not feel as connected as the Yonex, not as much feedback and that organic '90s graphite feel. I kind dubbed it a "NASA feel," I can't say I've hit anything like it, but it's a very nice feeling, very comfy and prolly better for my arm, that Twaron is doing it's job, that "Head feel" feel people go on about.

I'm new to the 18x20 world, 16x20 is what I'm used to, but this blows away the UT and PPMP I recently demoed. The UT is just round and awkward feeling, the PPMP feels too plasticky. I'd say Paul has a runaway hit with this Lime. Shame the K7 Red I tried (first batch) was really flimsy and did not take weight well. Also the string pattern looks like a Belgian waffle.

Also, I posted earlier, the is a trap door, just need to use a small flathead to get it off. There is silicon in there, almost to the end, but enough room to put a bit of putty if needed. Cap pops right back on, not as easy as normal trap door, but it's there.

Any recommendations to get more pop/reaction with pickups/half volleys? Should I go down on my gut mains, 52 lbs, 46 Max Power Rough 18g crosses? Or go even thinner with my crosses? Hyper G comes in 20g.

Edit: just got specs from @saleem for mgr/i. So I'm at 21 with 351g 32cm and 336 SW. Thanks for that. Can anyone make the snow go away now?

I would say yes, loosen up the string a bit! I still think 16x19 with 8 mains in the throat is the perfect configuration but I tried with Paul and so far no cigar

What modifications have you made to your Lime K7? Did I add lead and leather grip? I already had the duel g 330g, and I agree with you that the feeling of connection with the ball in it is incomparable. I would say that in this sense, the duel is the best racket I played in this respect.

I was reading some threads on kevlar hybrids recently and got intrigued. I know you played with kevlar hybrid with like a huge differential @topspn and I know you were pretty pleased with playability in your Storms. Comfort was great too. Did you abandon it because you didn't like the feel anymore or for some other reason? I think for full bed poly users we sort of revert to it every time because of the way it plays. Just wanted to get your thoughts.

I also put Oehms leather on my K7 Lime. Mine is really dark brown (Premium). Is yours the Pro version?
Long story! Based on talking to @saleem, it seems the premium dark brown nappa leather was going away because they can’t find supply anymore with demand for leather being high in many other products. So the new leather grip, the one I got which is not on sale yet will be replacement. I also talked to Angelo who is a very nice guy btw, he said this current batch and next one will be the last of the premium dark brown

Yeah, i played with differential of 10 so 55/45lbs kevlar/ZX. Comfort is not a problem, opens up a bit after 1st couple of hours hitting. It does last long for sure and spin is good. Overall, worth a try but I lost some touch/feel and it took away from the serve a bit.
