It's sad how Wilson basically stole Head's designs and banked on it while Head ruined their original designs with crappy Graphene and other junk materials. Head should just get rid of all their junk and reissue the Pro Tour 280 and Prestige Classic.

Prince has now come out with a racquet that has Textreme and Twaron in it... and by the reaction of the tester it seems good... certainly sounded awesome off the string bed... it's a 100sq in... hoping they expand it to the 95's and other models in the range... So Head has no excuse why they can't bring out the exact PT630 with Twaron...
Should the Wilson racquet sell really well, it would be a cool response from Head if they released the PT630 with Twaron and the same specs and RA etc... even if they called it a different name... like the Radical Tour 630 Andy Murray (16x19)... Blow everyone's mind... BUT THEY WON'T... cause they are m-----ly r-----ed.

In fact I've done a grommet mix myself on a TC100, putting the red grommet at the tip side, however all other is black...unfortunately Paul doesn't support that needed grommet colour for the Croat combo

Lol yeah all countries would be nice as an option, you could go red bumper side clear and white grip (the clear is milky white-ish) or red top, clear sides, blue grip..
Or you could go the Severina, 'Gola', grommetless ;-)

Does anyone actually still play with the Head PT 630 as your main racquet today?
I have not played with the PT 630, but many on this forum have and most have nothing bad to say about the racquet and still talks about the amazing feel of this racquet even today. Besides Andy Murray who plays with a custom PT 630 16x19, why do we not see more players today play with the PT 630? Is the PT 630 obsolete now that stiffer, more powerful frames such as the Pure Drives and Aeros just make you play better and win more matches despite this "feel" advantage the PT 630 has?

A large # of HEAD touring pros are still using it. My main racquets are 2 Bumblebee Radical Tour 630s. The OG PT57a.

Many pros that are using the Head "Prestige" racquets are actually using the PT57A... which is the pro version of the PT630...

I have never hit with or even seen a PT 630 irl. I am intrigued though as I love classic feeling frames. Is the Angell TC97 18x20 worth a try? I hear it is very very similar.I have just realized this thread is almost 10 years old now with over 500,00 views and over 2,200 posts. There is little to no interest in this racquet

I think it would be, slightly more forgiving, more pop, and it's like having a new pt630. I have both in my bag and they are both fantastic, my Tc97 gets more action that my pt's

Finally had a hit on Friday (for an hour) and today for an hour. Took a series of racquets out for a test drive... amongst them the PT630 and the Lite Tour 630. Both very nice... on Friday the PT630 was wonderful and our first date was very nice... I could see she was making me work for it... but it went smoothly none the less... Today, I took her out last after a procession of fine specimens... I was tired, my arms and legs were heavy from all the dancing and romancing of some of the more junior upstarts and contenders for the throne... and BOY did she let me know that I wasn't up to scratch... My PT630... kicked my arse!!!
The Lite Tour 630, due to its slightly more heavy head (I modified it but not quite enough so it's HL but just not as HL as the PT630... yet), was different. More easy power but still very smooth and precise...
So, I'm glad to hear your comment @DJ- as I haven't yet had a chance to string my TC97 18x20 and give it a spin... it sounds like a combination of the two head racquets mentioned earlier...

Hahah ! great write up, the pt630 full capped is hard work for sure, you need to be %100... I have non capped pro tours these days, just easier to play with and a difference of about 10sw points if I recall correctly. I haven't used the lite tour that much, but sounds like a little tailweighting is required ;-) The tc97 will impress, looking forward to your thoughts. Take your time, let that shoulder heal and start kicking the pt630's ass!

Thanks @DJ-... I'm trying... so far an hour at a time against a relentless ball machine is what I'm able to do... still very happy with that... haven't tried to serve but my physio wants me to try a few on Tuesday... we'll see how we go... slow and steady wins the race...

TC95 RA63 has significantly more power.
Are you just saying this because of the higher swing weight of the 63 ra tc95? If so, assume both have the same swing weight, as I would be adding lead to both frames.

You would have some grip setup there. The Pro Tours have Sorbothane inside the handle and with Wilson Shock Shield outside the handle. The feel might be Novocain like.
Correct me if Im wrong but isnt it the case that only the PT280 had Sorbothane inside the handle but the PT 630's did not?

I removed the cap grommets I had installed on both my PT 280's and switched for MG rad MP grommets. I was able to remove 12g by doing that, bringing them to a manageable 353-354g ready to play w/ leather and 1 og.
I wasn't able to tie-off on the correct grommet, though. The holes are different on those grommets. Is that normal?

I have discovered the org*sm that is low tension kevlar hybrids in the PT630. The sound is unbelievable and the control and big power are there. Some juniors were playing next to me, also hitting pretty hard, but no comparison to the sound. The lower tension also gives a lower pitch sound and it's definitely more menacing
I don't know but I feel like it also sort of compensates what I'm sure by now for me is a fairly low RA caused by years of use and restringing. My arm is loving it, so are my shots...

I had Kevlar/Syn gut in a different players racquet (don't want to go off topic reg other racquet models) and I was astounded by the amount of spin, power, and comfort. The hybrid came with the racquet when I bought it and the Kevlar was pretty loose and probably old and in need of replacing - judging from the amount of string movement.
I will definitely be trying this hybrid, as well as the Kevlar/ZX combo, again in different racquets... I believe the string also lasts much longer before it needs to be replaced.

One has Kevlar/Zyex, the other has Kevlar/4G but lower tension. Kevlar always in mains and strung tighter than crosses.
The latter hybrid is hallucinating because it is strung so low but still has a lot of control in relation to the power it offers. I might increase tension by 2-3 pounds on that next time but I'm really happy with it. The ZX one I like a bit less but I'm going to play with the tension next time. Kevlar has a different 'touch' though than other strings and I noticed that touch shots need adjustment. The more barbaric the swing actually the better the result seemed to be. If I don't dial in the next few sets of ZX I think I will just keep using 4G in the crosses. Did I mention I have durability issues?

I would reverse the tension on the mains and crosses... kevlar looser and syn gut or ZX tighter.... at least I think that's what it says on the packet...

Was following the advice of the infamous 'Kevlar People' in a thread on Kev/ZX. The first time I tried the hybrid I did crosses tighter and it was still great.
