Korda and Nakashima had convincing wins at IW. Korda beat #15 seed O’Connell 1&1 while Nakashima won 2&3 over Broady.

The WCs Nanda (at IW) and Mochizuki (at Monterrey) lost in straight sets.

Great pair of wins there.

Another great win for Nakashima vs Sugita, taking the match 3&2 without facing a single BP. The teen will face another seed in 3R, #10 seed Caruso.

Sinner was methodical in a bagel & breadstick baking session for qualifier Verbeek, losing just six points on serve. Next up is #11 seed Kudla.

Organizers are using Stadium 5 as the Challenger “center court.” Sinner, who is now the second from top seed (Johnson, who he beat for his first ATP M1K match win) remaining, is second on vs Kudla. Korda follows him there vs Krueger, who rebounded from an opening bagel to edge Albot in three. Both teens will play doubles on the same court after suitable rest.

Out on Court 19, Nakashima will be second on vs Caruso.

Nakashima performed well, but in the end failed to advance past a resurgent Jack Sock in the semis of the Indian Wells Super Challenger. He was, however, given a wild card into the Indian Wells Masters, so he's not going anywhere this week. He's also up to a new career high #218 in the world, leapfrogging 4 of his contemporaries to the new #5 teen in the world. With Seyboth Wild (teen #3) set to fall off the teen rolls this coming week, he'll advance further up the teen hierarchy.

Look for some big service numbers at the new SA site in Potchefstroom...4600 feet altitude should add some speed.
