The oldest world number one and the youngest world number one of all time, now oldest and youngest Olympic finalists ever - together

Hitman

Bionic Poster
One guy is trailblazing his way to the records of a crazy long GOAT tier career, while the other is trailblazing the most explosive beginning possible to the start of the career.

The fact these two are doing it together, and will create this history together is exceptional. Both are true generational talents, and both have etched their names into history. To share this moment together is something they will always take with them. Highly unlikely to see this magical moment happen again in our lifetimes.

The passing of the torch is almost complete, as one icon gives way to another.

Djokovic and Alcaraz. Next time on Dragon Ball Z.

Djokovic is ensuring that it's true passing of the torch. Other big 3 members did their part, they did it the hard way - didn't go down easily till 2022. I think Djokovic will keep hanging for 2 more years and test how good Alcaraz is before it's all said and done

Ever? This is only the 10th Olympics in the Open Era with tennis as a medal sport. All those teen phenoms in the 70s/80s never got a chance to play the Olympics nor did old Rosewall, Laver ever get a chance to play. And of course many women younger than Alcaraz made the Olympics finals - Capriati(won gold at 16!), Graf, Sabatini, Davenport, Venus, Dementieva.

Woman physically mature faster.

You can tell Djokovic has massive respect for Alcaraz and vice versa, Although Novak may be lacking belief against Alcaraz this final after the brutal dispatching at Wimbledon.

Never count Djokovic out. Alcaraz is favourite but we seen Djokovic come back from humiliating losses before to get revenge.

I agree that this looks a step to far now but it is Djokovic after all so you never know.

Everyone respects Alcaraz as he is the most dangerous opponent on tour. The question is if Djokovic also fears him like other players do. After the Wimbledon beatdown, he might. How confident is he going to be? Will he just want to give his best effort or will he show up with self-belief that he can actually win?

Alcaraz won't even touch Sampras.

Tennis is a declining sport and the talent pool is a joke. No 5 sets outside Slams and Bo3 only a matter of time for early rounds.

This means it's increasingly impossible for newer players to match older legends. MLB, NFL, Boxing.

Perfect Cell vs Kid Buu

Djokovic needs to improve 1 shot to have a chance against alcraz going forward - net approach shot - its his biggest flaw IMO last 4-5 years since he’s become a more complete player- Federer was a master at this

Can Djokovic turn the clock one last time ?? We shall see.

The passing of torch moment already passed at Wimb 24, if not at Wimb 23

Not if novak can turn around and start another run of dominance. It's upto Carlos to prove that he has taken over permanently. Too bad sinner didn't even show up for the challenge.

That will be tough. But of course he's not without a chance. Maybe it's Alcaraz's turn to lose again. You can't always win.

He's never been in a position to win gold for Serbia without outside help like he did in the Davis Cup. You all have to keep your fingers crossed!

Regarding the title - There's no "together" in singles tennis. Each is going for their individual goal, and only one will attain it tomorrow.

If bo3 is a factor, why are the big 3 still so far ahead in masters titles?
