The one thing you keep forgetting to keep in your tennis bag?

I hate when I remove my towel to wash, and forget to put a new one in there. In the winter, sometimes my nose runs for some weird flu reason, and I need to blow my nose. I need to keep a snot rag in my tennis bag.

I also hate when I forget a snack. I think I will buy a box of energy bars and just keep the whole thing in the tennis bag.

I hate when I go to tennis directly from work, and forget to pack socks. I will keep a few pairs of socks in the tennis bag.

I usually keep track of all my tennis equipment, but the one time I blistered badly last year of course had to be that one time I forgot my blister-tape.

I prefer EPO and roids though.

Of course it was a joke, but say seriously, meldonium is not affected your performance, it's not like EPO and steroids mentioned by you. Meldonium, it can be Mildronat also, 30 years ago it was Riboxin, all this stuff just protect your heart if you have intense physical activity.
So, probably we need this one in the bag.

I'm no expert on meldonium, my heart is just working fine fortunately.

And the only thing I'm supplementing my on court performance with is glucose and lots of water.

Meldonium is not a quick acting thing, you should use it some prolong time to get the result. And the best result will be that nothing will happen to your heart.

Ugh...this topic just reminded me that I have a t-shirt, towel and wrist band fermenting in my bag right now. Oh well, a couple more hours 'til I get home from work won't make much difference, will it?

One thing I keep saying I'll put in my bag is a cheap carabiner. 2x in the past year, I've ended up playing on a court with a busted net strap. Once at my home club (they're too cheap to keep an extra strap in stock), and once for USTA at a city-owned club. Both times, it was the hook thingy at the bottom that was broken. Both times, I used a spare shoelace (that I *do* keep in my bag) to tie the eye in the strap down to the anchor in the court, but a carabiner would be a simpler solution.

It seems obsessive to actually keep a net strap in my bag...

I added a few boxes of snacks into my tennis bag.

Yeah...this is a great idea. I do the same, it means I don't have to remember to grab something every time I play. My SO apparently never paid attention to this, so when they saw me loading like 6 granola bars and a handful of energy gels into my bag, they asked "How much tennis are you planning on playing today?"

I carry a 12rkt bag,, but only have 3 rackets in it,,,
the rest of the space is for all the stuff, I need, will need, and prob. Stuff ill let you borrow, because you forgot yours. :)

Got a towel in my bag, but need to stick like 3-4 of them in there.
I am also out of granola bars so I need to stock up.

Summer season means having a 2nd racket string for fresh dry grip during a match.,

Agreed on the second racquet part. I played on Saturday night for almost two hours and the freaking racquet grip was soaked in sweat to the point where it felt like it might slip out of my hand if I wasn't super careful. :(
I came home and took off my Supergrap and about 1/4 of the way up my fairway leather grip was completely wet, lol.

I can’t remember a time when I didn’t have what I needed.

I carry a wrench in my bag to tighten the net. Who else does that?

I got a bunch of different length zip ties for quick net repairs, I've got a tape measure, I've got a little kit with extra grips, overgrips, dampeners, finishing tape, a small scissors, string savers... you play long enough on public courts, you learn to be prepared. You play long enough with people and someone often needs a dampener or a quick re-grip.

But a wrench? Hmmm. That is a new one to me! Good on you!

I travel for work, so my tennis bag is basically another iteration of my laptop bag...basically a rolling wal-mart. what's funny is, when I'm home is when I actually am more prone to forget things. Usually if I do, it's either a towel or an extra t-shirt for after playing. One time I showed up to a match with two left shoes!

I have a Prince 3-racquet backpack style bag, which, at *all* times contains: :

at least two racquets + a demo to mess around with

clothing:
--several visors/hats...about 5 are generally in there
--wrist bands. they come in pairs, so i buy about 6 pairs and keep one of each in two separate ziplock bags
--extra shoe laces. never needed em for a shoe, but they come in handy to tie up untidy nets
--one t shirt is always in there, as well as a towel

accessories (I should buy stock in zip-lock bags): tourna grip roll, handful of dampeners, measuring tape, roll of athletic tape, a couple pens, gum, baggie with a stick of chalk in it, spare change, small pump bottle of insect repellant, lip balm, small flashlight, nail clippers, lighter, advil...lots of advil, cliff bars

side pockets: laminated 4x6 of The Code (given by my local assn), laminated quick ref card for USTA league rules/procedures, ace bandage, small first-aid kit

Also: thera-band for stretching, flexbar for elbow, elbow strap, thigh roller for cramps, 1-2 cans of balls, sunglasses, extra 'breathable' small bag for wet clothes

Most important besides my raquets? a couple of neoprene sleeves for cold beer -- 1 for me, 1 for my opponent.

Can you post a picture of this fully loaded backpack? I need to see this thing. Also, could we get an estimate of its weight?

seems like a lot of folk at my club think you can play without tennis balls.

Yeah, I don't understand that stuff. I'll see people come to the courts and be hitting with like 1-2 balls...I'm just thinking, why come out with only like 2 balls... Would it kill you to pick up a couple cans at Target or Wal-Mart?! I usually take out at least 6 balls for my practice sessions, sometimes more depending on what's in my bag, but typically I'll open 2 cans at a time, and then play with those 6 until they're tostada. :D

empty and full below:

elbow strap wrapped around top handle.
sunglass case and wetbag clipped onto top clip (i need to add a carabiner per other poster.
two mesh internal side pockets where the small accessories are tucked in.
hats/visors at bottom upside down. the baggies all fit in there under the hats so they are easy to get to but out of the way. The shoes/bag, then towel/tshirt at the smaller end. can usually cram a bottle of gatorade in there also.
this bag also has a side pocket with two sewn-in pockets off-camera to the left for keys, cell, wallet, tape measure, chalk etc...all the small items this is where my wrench will go.

the right slot holds three racquets. I've gotten up to four in there before when traveling, + wife's tennis shoes, camera case, etc so we don't have to bring her bag also. the airlines consider this a carry-on, so when we travel we take two 22" rollers, this, and my laptop bag hooks to my TravelPro roller. I'll move a mountain to not have to check luggage...too many issues with he airlines losing, destroying, etc...but it also adds 1-2 hours travel time to have to check in, and wait at baggage claim on the back end...plus the risk of getting stuff stolen.

I also just bought a Muvi K series (black plastic case), and the Q-mount -- the case can fit down near the racquet heads, and the pole/mount can slide right in the left slot with the metal brackets still sticking out a little bit...but i don't travel everywhere with those items...

just weighed this on the bathroom scale -- 12 lbs with what you see here plus the stuff in the mesh pockets, and two rackets. fully loaded I've gotten it to around 20lbs max...it goes where I go...
