San Diego State to start dominating should they choose this conference.
How? They are one of the worst teams in their small conference now.
San Diego State to start dominating should they choose this conference.
Good question. After Matt Hill's success at USF, he regularly had them in the top 30, it's a headscratcher why ASU is not at a minimum that good every year.Arizona State is on the bubble? Weren't they supposed to be some kind of powerhouse after they started the men's program back up.
good **** the traitorsUtah takes doubles over USC in the pac 12 final
Congrats to USC on their fourth consecutive conference tournament championship. They were better than the competition by quite a distance. Dostanic is on a roll. The Trojans have the players to make a deep run in the NCAAs. Their top 4 are as good as any in the country. The addition of Tien has transformed USC into a team that can go toe to toe with Texas, TCU, Georgia, Ohio State and Virginia. The one (relative) weak link is doubles. They would need to shore that up to go the distance
Will UofA sport make it through their financial accounting debacle without slashing and burning down the programs? https://arizonasports.com/story/3541907/arizona-athletics-releases-report-dave-heeke-firing/Nice weekend for Arizona and Arizona State to both make it to New York for the final 16.
Wait isn’t the move to the Big 12 supposed to be the cure all? Certainly a substantial step up in revenue from TV rights. Or is that not very different from the current Pac12 deal? Will UofA sport make it through their financial accounting debacle without slashing and burning down the programs? https://arizonasports.com/story/3541907/arizona-athletics-releases-report-dave-heeke-firing/
Unrelated to their conference move from what I can tell, UofA lost $140 mil. and can't account for exactly where it went. Bet those students getting an accounting degree from there are PO'd.Wait isn’t the move to the Big 12 supposed to be the cure all? Certainly a substantial step up in revenue from TV rights. One thing is if a marquee program like Arizona with its top BB team is considering belt tightening it doesn’t look good for a number of others

Quoted from the article Jan 26, 2024 -
"University of Arizona interim chief financial officer John Arnold told the Arizona Board of Regents at a meeting on Thursday that about $35 million what he said was a $140 million fiscal gap last year came from Arizona athletics.
The university started 2023 with $844 million on hand and ended with $704 million, according to Arnold, and has implemented plans to address overspending, including a hiring freeze and travel restrictions.
Another change Arizona made recently is parting ways with athletic director Dave Heeke".
Heeke announced earlier this month the situation would not lead to cutting any sports programs".
No that is more like desperation grabbing a life vest.Wait isn’t the move to the Big 12 supposed to be the cure all?
Haha, yes that’s true for most of the Pac12No that is more like desperation grabbing a life vest.
I would say all of it, even USC and UCLA.Haha, yes that’s true for most of the Pac12
Colby had a 3-6 record last year for the Trojans at #5 singles. He was not a key contributor for them last year.USC got through in a close one over San Diego. Dostanic had a rough weekend losing in straights to Trevor Svajda of SMU and Oliver Tarvet of SD. Not sure they are a top eight team this year without Marek and Frye. And Colby who was handy for them down low is now at UGA
Agree but he was very good his freshman season. And I still think he’s better than the lower order options they have this year.Colby had a 3-6 record last year for the Trojans at #5 singles. He was not a key contributor for them last year.
Gotta wonder what was behind the Colby sophomore slump. I always think injury first. Will be interesting to see how it goes for him a UGA.Agree but he was very good his freshman season. And I still think he’s better than the lower order options they have this year.
As he should. A blatant attempt at cheating and it was caught on camera.Jorge Plans attempts to get let
Former Clemson player and current UCLA Bruin Jorge Plans Gonzalez getting heat for his attempt to get a let vs Arizona.
I’ve always thought the rule was ridiculous anyway - your hat falls off, a ball falls out of your pocket - you should lose the point for failure to secure your own equipmentAs he should. A blatant attempt at cheating and it was caught on camera.
Used to watch the girls 18 clay courts and would see this, maybe once every other year or so. It was a little more discrete for the girl to "accidentally" knock the ball loose from their bloomers, then call a let. Usually the umpire gives a warning, next time it's a point.Jorge Plans attempts to get let

The one tweet I saw said that "had that let not been called it was break point, after the let Plans held and won the second set". I have no way to know if that's what happened. I do like that so many matches have cameras now. Players should know that if they don't want to embarrass themselves, their team and school across the globe, better not show your ass during a match. What was the decision by the chair? Assume disallowed the let and lost the point? Probably could easily be considered a code for unsportsmanlike conduct?
Didn't know that's a thing!I hope this ucla player earns himself a wiki page for this.
Bet he ran a bunch of lines. And Plans did not sit out. Played UCLA’s very next match which was today vs USC.
