So what is the difference(s) are there between the current C10's and the "re release" of the next C10 Pro? I can't see a difference except for the paint.

Purely paint... according to TW... however some people commented that the feel was different between the 2012 paint job and the 2015 paint job... so you never know... if you want to save some $ just get the 2015 paint version...

I’m hoping so. The new one will be my first C10 experience, so hope it’s unaltered from the much respected version(s). Not they just need to arrive and ship already.

Have you bought it already? If not, just get the 2015 version... or just wait for Black Friday Sale... might get some savings

Yeah bought it immediately when I saw the VLOG. It’s backordered till the 23rd at the moment. I found a Grade A used one in a smaller grip size (the 2015 edition paint) so bought that for the wife to try. That’s arriving on Monday so I’ll have a hit with it as well to get a first taste.

Ok I’ll be a Debby downer it’s one of the rare racquets that caused arm pain for me...

It was c10 matte. I tested other paint jobs side by side but though matte felt the softest of them all...but nevertheless gave me arm pain and all 3 I had ordered at the time went back to the retailer.

And i rarely have arm problems

@Tordne for you that tested phantom for a while it will feel like less forgiving harder to use phantom.

I’m going to be really interested to try it. The Phantom is without question the softest an most comfortable frame I’ve every hit with, period. It is pretty low powered though, and I never felt like I was able to serve effectively with it.

I actually hope I don’t like it cause that will save me a lot of money. I have 4 Pure Aeros literally arriving in the next hour or so that we’re all matched my Paul Reed :)

No pain for me... sorry to hear it gave you pain... could you identify what the issue might have been? ... or too hard and it just did. Apart from that (and not saying it's insignificant), how did you find the racquet?

Odd that this racquet gave you arm pain. Normally Volkl's in general are great arm saving racquets. The C10 Pros are usually always 62 stiffness or less.

Yes it’s strange I only other flexible racquet I can think of on top of my head that did the same to me was microgel radical

I can tell you that it was happening mostly on serve (I go after my serves) and what it felt like it was like the bending of the racquet somehow “extended” to my both radialis tendons and they got progressively worse first little sore so I blow it off as not playing often but that I noticed if I played with different racquet it would go away.

It was definitely serving better flat serves than phantom but not spin serves

Thanks for that @dgoran ... very interesting. I remember my forearms getting tight, but I was just getting back into tennis after a long break, but eventually, it went away. I was also trying lots of different racquets so it was difficult to ascertain causes and effects. Will have to pay attention to that when I play with it in future...

Tried the C10 for the first time today and wow, I love it. I was expecting a powder puff mushy softness like the old Head Twin Tube Radicals and Yonex RD7 but it actually felt nice and crisp yet plush at the same time. Feels and plays similar to my usual Wilson Six One and RF97 but softer and flexier.

I've been using the C10 since 1999 and I've never had arm issues with it. I usually have arm issues with the stiffer racquets, Babolats and even with the Wilson RF 97 A.

I'm a long time C10 user. I moved to the V-Sense 10 Tour which is right in line with your post. It is 325 grams strung (310+15) and, IME, has the same characteristics as the C10. Mind you that at a lighter weight, it won't have the power the C10 does, but the lighter weight allows more racket head speed and you can certainly make up for it with that. The VS10T is quicker through the air, extremely comfortable, and just a great do-it-all stick. I really like mine.

Does anyone have experience with both the C10 Pro and the V-Sense 10 325 they can reflect on?

i know. i prefer racquets with a sw around 335 and a static weight around 335. its impossible to beef up the sw of the c10 pro without getting it too heavy overall
The C10 factory weight is 346 and a SW of 323.
The C10's I currently have have
#1) weight 363 and SW of 330
# 2) weight 366 and SW of 340
#3) 393 weight and SW 377 - I added weight at 3 and 9 o'clock to this one.

I am also sticking with C10 Pros - i have been using 2 of the 2010 model for 5 years or so. I noticed on TWU power test it has similar Sweet spot power potential numbers to Wilson PS RFA and PS 97S which are 2 frames I would normally consider. For what it's worth I think of it as same output just a different means of getting there. I like the feel of the racket through the air and on impact - allows me to do everything I need to and is pretty forgiving.

Very comfortable racquet.

I always use a dampener so there are no vibrations... great racquet.

Mine is modified and it's a beast... does everything you ask of it with ease
Great. I currently play with Angell tc95 and also with Angell TC97. I already played with the head pro tour 280/630 which for me was the most comfortable I ever played. The feel of the C10, you could sort what looks like what racket?

Love all the 10 series Volkl's, but my favourite is the C10 and v engine mp and the SG 10 mp. Love Volkl, love Dunlop Biomimetics, love twin tube head Premier Tours and Prince Textremes and Pacific X Feel Pro 95's Samurai Tecnifibres in the 320 and 325 configurations.
Those Volkl V-Engines are beastly.
I tried out the Tour 9 V-Engine 18x20 a couple weeks ago. That thing slices backhands better than anything I've ever hit with. So much finesse.

I bought one, but it has not arrived yet. If it has a feeling of RF97, with comfort, sensitivity and no vibrations is a great frame. A good racket for me is one that gives me feel and comfort and without bad vibrations

For me, the PT630 had a deeper, gooier softness. It is a racquet that has an addictive feel but also demands you to pay attention and have your mechanics and technique sorted. I feel like I get tired more easily (it is heavier overall).

The C10 Pro does everything more easily, is more open in string pattern, comfortable but not that deep gooey softness (just as comfortable but the RA is higher). This racquet felt telepathic with Luxilon Savage (Black) for me (Haven't tried this string in the PT630 but I will).

Haven't played with the TC95, so I can't comment

TC97 I have is a 18x20 (330g 10 pts HL - that I then modified a bit) and it feels great, but to me is not the same kind of softness. It's just solid in all respects and gets the job done. It's much more maneuverable and I love playing with it. To me, it's like The Terminator... just crushes everything in its path, doesn't ask to be praised, is not demanding, and when you're finished you think... I don't know how I just did that... but it felt too easy... feels like the racquet is helping you with clinical efficiency.

Another way to put it... PT630 is a temperamental and demanding diva but when everything clicks you're left speechless and wanting more. C10 Pro a wonderful collaborative artist that achieves the same thing as the PT630 but you know has worked with you without a complaint. TC97 is a clinical and ruthless weapon that fused with you and got the job done.

In car terms... PT630 (Italian Supercar); C10 Pro (Porsche 911 Turbo S); TC97 (Nissan GTR - with comfortable suspension pack)

Yes the pt630 is addictive, but the static weight is high swingweight take away all that pleasure. I think TC97 is very good, but I did not like the feel of it. If the C10 is as comfortable as pt630, it has a more pronounced feel to vcore duel g 330g, and is handy, it's an excellent racket.

Hi Paulo - C10 Pro is really exceptionally comfortable racket. I had volkl cyclone and pro red code strung at 53-54 pounds with absolutely no vibration or issues. It feels solid but also buttery smooth. Feel is a real strong point if the racket. Access to spin is the only knock I have- there is a tradeoff between power and heavy ball, but not as much spin as I would like to keep the ball in and a little less control than the Redondo I started using again recently. The Redondo is less powerful but better control. Hope that helps

It helped a lot. The characteristics I always look for in a racquet are the feel and comfort. These characteristics are the main ones and those that give me pleasure in playing, without it the game is not fun, the pleasure of playing goes away. The rest we can adjust. And the Redondo? Is it a racquet that has a feel and comfort equal to or better than the C10 pro?

Hi Paulo - I cannot 100% compare the 2 rackets yet because the Redondo was strung at 48 lbs 3 weeks earlier (same strings - Pro Red Code) and I am not sure that is optimal tension for me in this racket. Going to try at 50 lbs to see if it feels a little crisper, but still giving the same top spin. I have been playing the C10 Pros at 52 or 53lbs and would actually go up 1 or 2 lbs to see if this gave a bit more control and allowed me to generate more club head speed and topspin. So a real comparison for me might be at 55lbs for C10 Pro and 50 lbs for the Redondo. The handles are also different (Redondo leather grip and very flared butt - Volkls synthetic grip and nice shape). But having said all of that in terms of feel the Volkl is nicer feeling in every way, even if the comparison was not 100% optimal. It is solid, smooth, feels like huge sweet spot, never a question of arm pain or vibration on even the worst hit shots. Amazing touch, volleys, serves and smashes. I have played dunlop (aerogel), prestige pro, a few others and absolutely love the Volkl C10 Pro for feel. Also balance of the racket feels great. Can't recommend it highly enough. And I'll probably be back playing them again soon - it may be just a chance for a change that has me hitting with the Redondo. I did hit a few shots I haven't hit for a while - a low slung forehand down the line that skimmed the net and stayed perfectly inside the line. But I couldn't hit another shot that works well for me with the C10 Pro - changing the direction of the play with a hard forehand cross court into the open court. I feel with the Redondo I am going to have to work a lot harder on technique to hit many shots and I won't have the same power or feel. So will have to see if the topspin and control outweigh the feel and power of the C10 Pros.

I've enjoyed the C10 for several years and usually prefer it when I want to do heavy slugging in a workout or singles match. Great combo of power, control, comfort, and I guess a little old-school personality that appeals to my roots. I was using wood racquets until high school.

I picked up a Redondo mid-plus a few years ago for some of my own experiments and while it was a rather cozy hitter, it didn't let me command the ball with the same authority as I've always seemed to get with a C10. The Redondo certainly seemed a little easier to hit accurately, but it was similar to the C10 for me in terms of spin potential - both racquets make me work rather hard to generate extra spin.

Feel and comfort are rather subjective aspects of any racquet. While the Redondo was rather nice for me in the feel and comfort department, it didn't make me want to quit my Volkls, so I didn't keep the Redondo.

I should note that the other Volkl I very much enjoy is the Organix 10 325g - the current generation of this racquet is the V-Sense 10 325g. I did NOT care for this racquet in its stock form, but when I added some lead tape to the hoop and the handle, its feel and performance really came to life for me. The resulting weight and balance of the tuned O10's were rather close to my C10's, but the O10's were a little less powerful and a whole lot more spin happy. Also comfortable, but not quite to the same degree as my C10's with the same string and tension.

Trick question for me - I pretty much use 17 ga. syn. gut in all my own racquets.

I suppose that a poly hybrid could be useful to tone down a little of the power in the C10. I've experimented with 1.20mm Isospeed Baseline mains combined with 16 ga. syn. gut crosses and this was semi comfortable for me - felt like a firm bed of full syn. gut and made the C10 play a little less "hot". But I also tried a full bed of poly in one of my C10's last fall (tensioned at about 43 lbs.) and that gave me a real-deal case of tennis elbow - a first for me.

Have you tried it with Luxilon Savage (Black)? I had it at 53M/ 51C and it was magic... almost telepathic and great control (also good with Volkl Cyclone Black 17 gauge at similar tension).

No vibrations and it is VERY solid. IF you make sure you are hitting in the sweet spot. Even off hit shots do not give you vibration, just a bad hit. With the C10 Pro the sweet spot is just a little below mid line NOT towards the upper hoop as all the newer racquets seem to be. At least what I have noticed.
