The Queen to attend Wimbledon 2010

Unfortunately, Murray will be lucky for a 2nd week finish at Wimbledon. Players have figured him out.

Is that what's happened since Murray made the first slam final of the year - players have figured him out - you really believe that? Murray lost badly to Fish and Kohlschreiber becuase they've 'figured him out'? Didn't Seppi, Hanescu or Chela get the memo?

Murray has made the second week of Wimbedon every year he's played there except when he was ranked in the 300s in 2005 - he made third round that year.

If you really think Murray will be 'lucky to make second week' then you should get yourself down the bookies mate - you'll get great odds for Murray losing before R4 and could win yourself a fortune. You'll get 14/1 for R1 or R2 and 8/1 for R3 at William Hill's. You sound confident - go make some money form your tennis 'insight'.

That's very cool. I'm sure that will be the most VIP of VIPS that a lot of the players have ever played in front of. Nice that she's coming the first week, not just if Murray makes the final.

+1

It makes a great event that little bit greater. I make the 24th the first Thursday.

Oh so i guess all of these poor losses this season have happened because Murray is just 'testing the waters' in his matches - saving himself for Wimbledon?

You and those strawmen again. No wonder you love Namranger.

Here's a tip kid - stop trying do deflect from the inanity of your own assertions by responding to arguments I don't make - it makes you look dumb.

Hey batz, do you think it will have an impact on Murray's performance?

I don't think so - but who knows mate - it could. Hopefully England will have a decent run at the World Cup - that will take a lot of the media glare away from Murray.

"Royal aides say the Queen is interested in tennis and will attend this year during the first week of the tournament, which is the oldest in the world, regardless of the success or failure of British players."

The Queen interested in tennis?! She's kept her interest well-hidden during the past 33 years, since her last visit. In 1977, she practically had to be dragged to Wimbledon to see Virginia Wade win the women's singles title. And she never turned up to watch the great English hope of recent years, Tim Henman. (I'm not British, by the way.)

I hope the poor Queen won't have to queue to get in, like other ordinary mortals.

Seconded.

It was well known that the Queen does not like attending Wimbledon. I wonder what happened this year.

The only exception was if Henman was in the semis or the finals, then she would consider it.

That'd be a great honor for both the finalists , I got tickets for semi's (saturday), hope it turns out good.

It's not finals day - she'll be there on the 24th - although I suspect she'd turn up for the final too if Murray made it.

Maybe Federer will decide to win his 3rd round match 6-1 6-1 6-2 instead of 7-5 6-4 6-4, just to show off for Your Highness.

I hate England and proud of it.

A proud bigot. Awww - bless him. You just don't see enough blind hatred in the world these days.

He'll be telling us next that Culloden was a battle between Scotland and England and that Braveheart was a documentary.

No, I won't tell you this, Englander, I'm Bigot v2.0, improved version.

Batz: 'Anaconda' isn't old enough to place a bet on Murray, or old enough to buy a drink, drive a car, smoke a ciggie, move out of home, have sex, or put forward a reasonable argument so it seems.

Really TT mods should make him wear L plates.

Then stop kissing English arses.

You're an intellectually challenged racist bigot whose knuckles scrape the ground because you've not quite fully evolved yet - it'll be free ice cream in hell the day I take advice from you ya rocket.

Scottish and British - equally proud of both.

With this added pressure I predict that Murray will either win the Championship ...

....or have a nervous breakdown and throw up on the court.

Should be fun to watch either way

Anaconda? That Roddick fanboy? Heh, he's a moron!

"Wimbledon has also hired a poet to write daily poems about the day's action.

http://sports.yahoo.com/tennis/photo...n_poet-3394315"

I like the idea of having a "Wimbledon poet". However, what the Queen is doing darkening the gates of the All England Club is beyond me. I could understand her attending the men's singles final if A. Murray was playing in it, but otherwise, for no special reason, it doesn't make sense. Then again, she is quite elderly, so it's not as if she'll be around for many more Wimbledons.

Yep she is going to attend this year, just like the year before that and before that year and before that year and before that year...HUH?WHATA HAPPEN?

A poet, the queen they can bring a whole freaking circus and still almost nobody will be following Wimby this year.Especially brits.
