His serve and volleys were on but he definitely needs to string together more groundstrokes than he did today against Murray. Once his opponent gets his serve back in play, it's an uphill battle to win the point.
 
If he he didn't have two left feet and was a big clumsy bugger he would have been a good guy to get behind. Too bad hes 20 foot tall. Its impossible to win slams with such a lousy return game. Sure he'll serve a million aces but he can't break a woman's service game

When I say unfortunately basic I mean he says very predictable republican culture war cliches. Stuff like saying Kaepernick was wrong for kneeling during the anthem, law and order during the Floyd stuff in 2020, Trump didn't do anything wrong, etc. you know, basically the 'red' side of the culture war stuff.

I know a lot of guys who will say stuff like that, it doesn't make them bad people at all. One of my closest friends from college is from a town 10 mins away from Isner's hometown and identifies as conservative. Idk, I disagree with views of his but he's not a 'deplorable' in any sense, he's very fair towards people and would give you the shirt off his back. Being from a very liberal part of the state, I've had a lot of eye opening discussions with him that I wouldn't have heard anywhere else.

Not here to make value judgments on someone's politics in any case. Some people may see 'Trump supporter' and instantly think bad person, and in a lot of cases they may be right -- I agree that it's not fair to do so especially in Isner's case.

You know whats even more insane about this video? Its the fact that Novak put the return back in play. Novak is a genius returner and I dont know how he could have so good reactions for returning.

Isner is directly responsible for Novak's 2 Wimbledons. Can never forgive him. Due to his loooooong SF with Anderson Djokodal had to play under roof and due to that same match Wimbledon brought in final set tiebreak and Novak was not winning anything other than tiebreaks in that 2019 Final ROFLMAO

I saw the highlights of Isner Mahut match. It was such a historic match. Big servers are so awesome. Just end the point before it begins. Love it.

Nadal had plenty of chances in 19 and Isner/Anderson match was a double KO. Wimbledon changing their policy is weak sauce on them. And let's face it Fed couldn't get past his choking.
 
Congrats to Isner who just broke Karlovic's ace record.

In true isner fashion, he did it by going down 0-30 then serving 4 straight aces to win the game. What a guy.

A shameful chapter in American tennis history indeed. A mob of pubescent 15 yo boys, likely obsessed with rap/hip hop music and with little to no knowledge of tennis, hysterically cheering on a French Clown (of all players) instead of the American #1.
