The Return of MJ/Gambling Scandal

The Irony of MJ coming back to NBA telecast (analyst) with the entire gambling scandal. Older posters will remember that he got very upset with the media during the 1993 ECF with the Knicks about Gambling issues. He would later do an interview with sunglasses which some thought bizarre. He wouldn't talk to the media for a few days until his close friend Ahmad Rashad (Former NFL player) would do an interview with him. He said that he had no addiction, but it was a "hobby" as he was a competitive person. I remember him saying that he wasn't auctioning off his Championship rings and his family was doing well. Unfortunately, his dad would get murdered later the same year and he would temporarily retire from the sport.

The Knicks had a 2-0 lead then go on to lose the last 4. Of course, he would beat the Suns in the 1993 Finals. I remember the Knicks had one game that same year where they blew out the Bulls by 37 points and many thinking it was their year, but MJ proved them wrong again.

I wish that the "original" MJ was still alive. It's a pity that 3 iconic performers as Michael, Whitney, and Prince all died at a young age, but their music lives on. Micheal between his work with the Jackson 5, the Jacksons, and his solo left behind over 25 studio albums which is plenty of music for a person who died at the age of 50. I haven't heard some of that stuff in a while and should get reacquainted with that material soon.

Some folks underestimate how deep that gambling rabbit hole can go, especially for big names with huge pressure. I was looking into similar stuff recently and found some interesting views on sites that aren't restricted by GamStop. The reviews at https://www.trustpilot.com/review/casinos-not-on-gam-stop.info gave a pretty raw perspective. It’s eye-opening how easy it is for people to slide into that world without much oversight.
