The Rosol incident revisited

I was watching the Rosol "bump" or shall I say "brush".....it so not a big deal.
I mean Rosol didn't even stop toweling himself.......

But far more importantly .....what the hell was Rosol doing???

I mean he is just standing there in Nadals space taking a freaking shower, brushing his teeth and putting some deodorant on.....I mean he is just parked on Nadals side??

I'm glad Nadal did it though , fits his image..,,,he was deep in concentration and Rosol was not moving his butt.....even after the so called gigantic "brush"......Rosol still did not stop toweling.......next thing you know he was going to start drying off his tennis balls ?

Hey Rosol......."MOVE YOUR ARS AND WALK TO YOUR FREAKING CHAIR INSTEAD OF DOING YOUR PERSONAL GROOMING IN MY FACE"

In fact if you look closely its as though Rosol walked into Nadal and set a pick like in basketball....he just stops dead cold and doesn't move......not even slightly. He doesn't even stop toweling . I actually think Rosol may have done that to screw with Nadal and intimidate Rafa

Lol Nadal lost in 2nd of Wimbledon and then 1st round the following year.

Yes that's incredibly funny, I wonder which journey man will eliminate him next year, and even more important, will it be someone outside top 200 this time?

Wimby is even more special now since 2 years.

PROOF ROSOL SET A BASKETBALL PICK ON PURPOSE

Watch the video closely........Nadal pulls his shoulder back to get out of the way.......he doesn't plow through.

Rosol just stands still toweling away in Nadals space. Doesn't move a muscle.

Rosol was screwing with Rafa........he wanted a bump .......but didn't get one because Nadal pulls his shoulder back........watch:

Did you just quote yourself again? Wow that's pathetic!!!

It was the best match ever played in history of tennis....the bump was nothing special, just more unsportsmanlike behavior from Nadal, which everybody is used to nowadays...but did I mention it was the best match ever to watch? Closely followed by Nadal-Darcis just one year later.

Rosol doesn't make a hill of beans compared to Soderling. Soderling is the only one to beat him at the FO.

True -- but Rosol just did it with so much more style and flair IMO. It's a testament to the brilliance of his performance, that the match is still talked about to such a great degree (compared to the Soderling defeat) after all this time.

Infact, if you look closely you will see that Rosol had stopped before he was bumped.

And if you look even more closely you will see the effing snear on Nadal's face when he hit him.

These are street smart moves buddy

And why did you think Nadal appologized 3 times afterwards? Because he thought it was not his fault?

Moments like this shows the true identity behind the mask

For me it looks like Rosol stopped to let Nadal pass through and for whatever reason Nadal bumped into him. Either he was mad or in deep thought I don't know. But personally, I don't think it was that big a deal. Tennis has seen WAY WORSE with Mac and Connors.

EDIT: after seeing the vid 4 times....I think Rafa's shoulder was pushed back because of the "brush" or "bump" or whatever you want to call it.

True! I also think Rosol was taken by surprise since Nadal nearly always (habitually) waits for his opponent to cross before he himself does. This was clearly a deliberate move on his part.

Nadal bumped Rosol on purpose because he was trying to intimidate him. Nadal is not some NICE GUY as his fans claim he plays all kinds of mind games and tactics to win.

Nadal also complained to the chair umpire that Rosol was breathing too hard he was upset because he was LOSING the match. Glad Rosol kicked his butt LOL!

^ In his prime as well.

So you accept Federer was in his prime in those 2008, 2009 losses to Nadal?. Good.

If he had stopped to let him pass, he should have let more room for him to go through.

LOL! Besides there being a 5-year age difference, This encounter happened when Nadal was 26 y/o (in 2012), the same age as Federer in "2007", during which he was in the latter stage of his prime, but in his prime nonetheless when he had his last "3-slam year". So needless to say, your comparision is therefore rather absurd.

If he had stopped to let him pass, he should have let more room for him to go through.

First, Nadal nearly ALWAYS waits for his opponents cross the net at a changeover before he himself does - it's one of his "tics", which is why Rosol stopped, taken by surprise as he was by Nadal's abrupt departure from the norm.

Secondly, there was enough space, and it wasn't as if Nadal couldn't have turned sideways to avoid contact.

Rosol thought the contact was intentional.

"I was surprised he could do it on the Centre Court at Wimbledon," Rosol said.

Nadal's demeanor grew glum as the match progressed, and in the third set, he bumped into Rosol as they crossed to reach their chairs for a break.

"He wanted to take my concentration," Rosol said. "That's OK. I knew he would try something, but I was concentrating."

That's funny, I've thought the same thing. Look at it from the reverse angle. It clearly looks like Rosol is boxing Nadal in. He gives Nadal a TINY bit of space between him and the chair and just stops. Nadal tries to squeeze through.

Indeed, it does look like Rosol is the one causing trouble. After all, he stops first, and in a position that gives Nadal no options.

Morons just use it to hate more on Nadal though.

Nadal's standard pattern is to let his opponents cross first...and yet it's somehow Rosol's fault....... LMAO!

I don't know what Nadals standard pattern is ....do you pay attention to that.

But let's assume arguendo that your not just making that up and it's true.....

The problem with that is that Rosol never crosses! He just stands there like an idiot toweling off.....Nadal clearly pulls his shoulder back and Rosol just stands there toweling not moving a muscle......in Nadals space! It's not normal.

What looks like a bump is really Rafa pulling his shoulder Back to avoid Rosol !

Rosol was trying to start something....please just try and be objective.....watch:

But won 2 GS the following year.

Federer on the other hand can't win anything since he aimed Stakhovsky's head at the net, and I doubt he's gonna win 1 GS last year.

different players = different mental strenghts ;)

LOL! I can totally see that transpiring! :)

It was a sensational match. And it had arguably the highest quality fifth set you'll see anywhere, and the crowd reaction at the end was just incredible. Iconic moment in tennis history.

"I'm glad Nadal did it though , fits his image"

At least you acknowledge that Nadal's image is one of a hot headed bully. Of course, you also approve of that image, so no wonder you're a Nadal fan, as you love violence, cheating, and disrespect.

What I see is Rosol standing there, waiting for Nadal to pass, not doing any sort of controversy, while Nadal looks like a hot headed bully trying to pose a threat to his opponent just enough to make him choke the match away. Thankfully, that well-known Nadal method did not work that time. :)

The only moron is you, and a biased one at that. It is well known by your posts that you have very little basis of defending Nadal, resulting in funny posts featuring some of the most twisted opinions possible, just for the same of defending a guy who doesn't isn't even worth it. You are either dellusional or clueless if that, is in fact, your view of the Rosol/Nadal incident.

I don't get it. Fed in his prime losing to Nadal , an all time great, is the same as Nadal in his prime losing to.....Rosol ? Darcis ?

Then why doesn't Rosol move after the "violent" bump.? What's he waiting for? He just standing there continuing his strange personal grooming on Nadals side.

Why?? He doesn't even try to avoid Nadal.

On the other hand what looks like a bump on closer inspection is merely Nadal pulling his shoulder back to avoid the collision as Rosol stands in Nadals space doing his grooming. It actually looks as though Rosol stands in Nadals space trying to draw a foul.

Exactly. I'd say though that Nadal refuses to just squeeze through, and that's why the "bump" happens.

If he was just waiting for Nadal to pass, why didn't he let a decent amount of room for him?.

I don't get it. Fed in his prime losing to Nadal , an all time great, is the same as Nadal in his prime losing to.....Rosol ? Darcis ?

Sure, Fed never lost to anyone of lesser caliber than Nadal while on his prime.

That doesn't mean that he always has to let his opponent cross first. However it's time this topic was dead and buried.

At the time this happened I thought this minor incident was six of one and half a dozen of the other. Having looked more closely at the video and this gif,it is obvious that the bump was intentionally orchestrated by Rosol. He stopped, looked at Nadal then started to towel his face while continuing to walk forward. Nadal was walking forward with his head down. There was a camera or some other piece of equipment sticking out from the umpires chair, Nadal twisted sideways to avoid walking into it. Rosol could have avoided the whole incident by waiting when he saw Nadal approaching, but he chose not to.

As for those pinning the guilty as charged label to Nadal, because he apologized. Well that's what well brought up polite people do. I feel sure we have all been in the situation where we have accidently bumped into someone and even though we think it was the others fault for whatever reason, we apologise.

I doubt haters are capable of understanding that.

Fine, fair enough. At least Rafa doesn't need to avoid his main rivals to win slams on his prime :). I'll take it.

And whose fault is that? Your fake God wasn't good enough to meet Federer in any of the HC slams in Fed's peak. What was Roger supposed to do? Lose on purpose because he wasn't facing Nadal in the final. And Nadal wasn't the only main rival Fed had.

He was the only one of his same caliber.

He lost to him on clay, hc and grass on his prime.. And hasn't beaten him in a slam since 2008, while on his prime...

Omg lets not get into who is greater on every freaking thread.

The answer is we just don't know yet. No matter how hard you try and prove one over the other you cannot win.......it's to early to call.

This thread is about the Rosol incident.......

The new angle of the video I posted shows some more insight.

On closer inspections it seems as though Rosol is the culprit.

Rosol, Attending to his grooming in Nadals space as an excuse to cause an altercation. He didn't move a muscle and set a pick to draw the foul.

What at first seemed like a bump on closer inspection is actually Nadal moving his shoulder to avoid contact. It was Rosol who actually bumped Nadal and put himself in Nadals path to cause a contact

Even after the so called incident Rosol is still just standing on Nadals side grooming himself......very strange indeed. I think he was trying to get in Rafas head.

Perhaps Rosol was shocked by the rudeness shown by Nadal, hence the reason why he was standing there in disbelief and shock after the bump.

With his face in his towel?

A normal person would dry off in their own chair.

Notice Nadal grabs a towel to take to his chair to dry off.

Rosols actions deviate from the norm.

Yeah 2008 mono which effectively ended Fed's peak. How very fortunate for Rafa.

I realize that this is off topic, but in answer to the above statement, one or two quotes from Federer Wimbledon 2008.

Q. How would you compare your game now to your game a year ago this time?
ROGER FEDERER: Well, now it's better again. Maybe at the beginning of the year, like I said, I felt a little slow. Just felt a little bit rattled due to the sickness I had.
But today I feel as good again as last year. You know, one year has gone by. I've played plenty of matches. I feel like I'm playing well, which is good.

Q. How would you describe the state of your game at this point in the tournament compared to previous Wimbledons?
ROGER FEDERER: Well, it was, again, a different type of, you know, opponent today, so you always have to adjust a little bit.
But I think I played well today and throughout the tournament so far. You know, I've had some better draws, some tougher draws over the years here at Wimbledon. I was able to come through, you know, all of them the last five years, so I'm happy that this time it's worked out again as good.
I really feel like I'm playing as good as the last few years.

Q. Would you say you're playing better than ever this year, right now?
ROGER FEDERER: Well, I mean, my way to the final's been great. You know, I cannot do much better than this. But I've just been playing consistently well.

Yes it is.

There's no answer to the goat debate.

We all have our personal opinions.....we have to wait until their careers are over.

Fed can and will win more slams and so will Nadal.

And don't count Joker out....he almost won the calendar slam....and he has more winning to do.

It's a three way race.....actually four but Murray is very far behind
