Well not necessarily, sports don't quite work that way. How do you know that if Nole had failed to win it in 2011, that he wouldn't have been even more determined to capture the title the next year?

The sooner you accept your own bias the easier it is to be objective.

We're chill, I'm just often brusque. If there were no biased people here I'd be bored as fark. Anyway, you're not much biased... pretty fair overall with some trolling thrown in here and there.

There's a reason why Djokovic has only 1 title at US Open. Even The Heat is too much for Novak at USO.

Yeah, I get where you're coming from Nathaniel. Believe me, no-one's more surprised than I that Nole's won 2 Wimbledon titles and I guess there is a comparison to be made between his success there and Nadal's at the USO. But like I said(and you also), Nole does have some of the required attributes to win on grass such as a good serve and return and at least he hits what one would call "normal" shots. I'm sorry, but Nadal's tennis to me has always been so ugly to watch, apart from when he's being ultra aggressive which is seldom seen these days.

The thing is, he's so good at this, that he can use it to win on other surfaces too.

I've always said that it's like Nadal found a loophole in tennis (the uber forehand topspin).
 
The toughest loss for me to accept happened decades ago. Borg's loss at W to JMac in 1981, almost 34 years ago. I think that was the turning point for him, when he lost interest in playing.

Are you half suggesting that McEnroe made Borg retire in a roundabout way?

Lots of halves and roundabouts there.
 
Another sad loss I remember was the Indian Wells final back in 2003. Kuerten beat Roger in that tournament in a close match, but got destroyed by Hewitt in the final.

On topic:

Not quite the saddest, but Roddick vs Safin AO 04 QF and AO 05 SF vs Hewitt were pretty meh for me. I genuinely believe that Roddick would've had a good chance at beating Safin in the final and win the AO.
