Which hater bumped this so as to jinx Murray  Nice try, though. He isn't losing before the finals. ;-)

He's winning Wimbledon. I told you. He is long overdue. He is the second-best grass-court player of this generation in terms of technique.

Three years after the initial post, it is finally here. With two slams and a gold medal in the past 12 months, if it's anyone's era, it is Murray's. Apparently, Djoker's era was 2011 only.

Murray is legit. Down 1-4 in the second, 2-4 in the 3rd? Stayed mentally strong in the final game. Clutch. You can't say a damn thing about him now.

He needs to beat Nadal in a Wimbledon final to be legit.;-)

Who the hell doesn't watch Wimbledon live? If you have recorded it, you shouldn't be reading this forum anyway.

People from other part of the world don't have a chance to watch live because they are sleeping.

We have a Pro Match Results forum to discuss score and result. This is the WRONG forum.

I'm sorry but winning a couple slams and never coming close to being #1, losing 5 slam finals, being a non-factor entirely on one surface... doesn't make for it being someone's "era".

Yeah, well that streak is really cheapened because he skipped a tournament he had no chance of reaching the final.

Really, that match was key to his last 12 months.
Not really at all. Last year Murray was already the 2nd best grass court player and probably would have beat Djokovic. Nadal has declined significantly on grass and this year Federer continued his decline. Murray would probably have won Wimbledon this year anyway. Before the tournament I thought if Nadal was back to his previous levels he could win, but no one else could stop Murray.

At the US Open he had a decent shot as well. The extra confidence helped, but it was no miraculous turn around and he probably would have won this wimbledon anyway.

But Murray himself admitted that 'the olympics finals' was a huge boost to his confidence

Well, it propelled him to win the US Open as well, after another gut wrenching disappointment at Wimbledon in 2012.

Im done watching tennis then. Tennis led by a boring bland pusher? Poison to the eyes

Strange where he says he can't motivate himself. Why does't he try to win the Grand Slam? All 4 at the same time in a calendar year. He's definitely capable of it.

As a Murray fan I did not even expect him to Win US Open. All I wanted him was to have a decent run and not lose to unknown players. Losing to Wawrinka who almost won against Djkoer is not that bad. 2 reasons why I did not expect him to defend US Open,

1. Murray takes lot of time to be mentally out of either loss or win. For example he took months to come out of the 2011 AO final loss. Same way he will take time to come out of Wimbledon 2013 win. Whether you call it mental weakness or whatever, this is Andy for you. I have learnt to accept it. I want to support a player who is more a human than a robo.

2. I think winning AO 2014 is more important to him than defending US open. Atleast to a Murray fan, I want him to have a variety of slams. He definitely cannot challenge the top 2 in Slam count. Atleast try to make a mark for himself by winning different slams.

Murray era never started and never will, as he is not a mega top player. he'll have better results only if Nadal is injured, which is so lame that calling it "era" is ridiculous. i am slowly adding Djokovic to the same category.
