The Ten True Changes Of The Guard In Tennis!

Here below are the ten true changes of the guard that have occurred in the entire history of tennis in the head-to-head between true all-time greats who have won six open era grand slams or more and who are separated by more than ten years of age:

1. Jimmy Connors versus Mats Wilander: Even as a youngster, mats wilander truly established himself as the next true all-time great with five consecutive victories against jimmy connors and with absolutely no losses to jimmy connors which thus established mats wilander as one of the first next generational true all-time great successors who had truly evolved tennis.

2. Jimmy Connors versus Stefan Edberg: Initially, stefan edberg struggled in defeating jimmy connors, but at the end of their rivalry, stefan edberg truly redeemed himself as a true all-time great by reeling off three final consecutive victories against jimmy connors which allowed stefan edberg to end up with a non-losing head-to-head against jimmy connors. Either way, stefan edberg's struggles against jimmy connors proved that stefan edberg would be the weakest out of all of the true all-time greats.

3. Jimmy Connors versus Boris Becker: Even as just a teenager, "boom boom" boris becker was reeling off consecutive victories off of jimmy connors who was seen as one of the greatest all-time greats ever during that period. At the end of their rivalry, boris becker achieved six consecutive victories against jimmy connors with absolutely zero losses to jimmy connors which thus proved without a shadow of a doubt that boris becker was the next true all-time great.

4. Jimmy Connors versus Andre Agassi: As a teenager, andre agassi already knew that there was no excuse ever to losing to an all-time great as old as jimmy connors even if jimmy connors was one of the greatest all-time greats ever of that period. Andre agassi made it very clear to everyone that he was not planning on sustaining a single loss to jimmy connors even as just a teenager which is exactly what andre agassi as a teenager did by achieving two consecutive victories against jimmy connors with absolutely zero losses to jimmy connors like a true all-time great should be absolutely capable of.

5. Jimmy Connors versus Pete Sampras: When jimmy connors faced pete sampras as a youngster, pete sampras as just a youngster made completely sure to completely blow jimmy connors out of the water by achieving two consecutive victories with absolutely no losses to jimmy connors along with losing absolutely zero sets to jimmy connors as well which thus firmly established pete sampras as one of the newest true all-time greats.

6. John Mcenroe versus Andre Agassi: Initially, andre agassi struggled to defeat john mcenroe but at the end of their rivalry, andre agassi fully redeemed himself by achieving a non-losing head-to-head against john mcenroe with a victory against john mcenroe as just an eighteen year-old along with a final pivotal victory against john mcenroe on john mcenroe's best surface at wimbledon. Either way, andre agassi's initial struggles with john mcenroe proved that andre agassi although a true all-time great, was definitely one of the weaker true all-time greats.

7. John Mcenroe versus Pete Sampras: When john mcenroe went up against pete sampras, john mcenroe realized immediately that he was completely outgunned by pete sampras. Even as just a teenager fully knowing that john mcenroe was one of the greatest all-time greats ever, pete sampras achieved three consecutive victories against john mcenroe with absolutely zero losses to john mcenroe which thus firmly established pete sampras as a true all-time great who could possibly be one of the greatest all-time greats of all time.

8. Ivan Lendl versus Pete Sampras: Even as just a teenager, pete sampras was able to achieve a decisive victory against ivan lendl at the 1990 US open. As one of the greatest true all-time greats ever, ivan lendl proved to be a formidable foe for pete sampras but like all true all-time greats do, pete sampras rose to the occasion by achieving at the end of their rivalry a completely dominant positive head-to-head against ivan lendl with five decisive victories against ivan lendl along with two final consecutive victories against ivan lendl which thus once again, completely established pete sampras as without a shadow of a doubt a true all-time great who could possibly be one of the greatest all-time greats ever.

9. Andre Agassi versus Roger Federer: Initially, roger federer struggled in dealing with andre agassi but once roger federer modified his tennis game, roger federer achieved a completely dominant positive head-to-head against andre agassi with a whopping eight consecutive victories against andre agassi which all completely confirmed that roger federer was the newest true all-time great of the new millenium.

10. Andre Agassi versus Rafael Nadal: As just a teenager, rafael nadal faced off against andre agassi on andre agassi's best surface of hard courts but even then, rafael nadal as just a teenager on his weaker surface was able to convincingly defeat andre agassi. At the end of their rivalry, rafael nadal achieved a completely dominant positive head-to-head against andre agassi with two consecutive victories against andre agassi along with a final straight sets victory against andre agassi at wimbledon along with absolutely zero losses to andre agassi which all completely firmly established rafael nadal as a true all-time great who could possibly be one of the greatest all-time greats ever and who would be the direct rival to roger federer in the new millenium.

As we can all see, the true all-time greats of the entire history of tennis completely unlike the completely fraudulently alleged "all-time greats" of both jannik sinner and carlos alcaraz never ever had losing head-to-heads against any of their more than ten years older true all-time great counterparts so I hope this post truly reminds everyone what true all-time greats should be completely capable of completely regardless of the completely corrupt tennis media propaganda that completely falsely states otherwise which thus means that we should not ever drop our standards for what a true all-time great should be completely capable of and we just need to be a little more patient as we await for the next TRUE tennis great to finally actually arrive which will be completely worth it at the end of the day.

Jannik Sinner and Djokovic have a tied h2h at 4-4. If Sinner won the next meeting or just ended with a winning h2h against Novak, would he be an all time great. What about Joao Fonseca. If he played Djokovic, the last remaining ATG, and won, I believe he'd have a strong chance to become an ATG. I understand that Jannik's H2H will always be losing against Nadal, but with Fons, his only H2H with an ATG would be positive if he beat Djokovic getting a winning h2h

Well jannik sinner's fate has already been completely sealed by his completely eternal losing head-to-head with rafael nadal so even if jannik sinner actually gains a positive head-to-head against novak djokovic, jannik sinner would still never ever be a true all-time great because as my post completely proves, all true all-time greats never ever have any losing head-to-head against any other past true all-time great who is more than ten years older.

In fact, by looking at the mathematical evidence of the entire history of tennis, it is clear to me that jannik sinner will not ever end up with a positive head-to-head against novak djokovic because novak djokovic already has the dominant edge against jannik sinner since novak djokovic has already won more sets against jannik sinner than vice versa and because all of jannik sinner's recent wins against novak djokovic have come on fast hard courts. Once jannik sinner faces novak djokovic on clay and grass more, we should fully expect novak djokovic to completely expose jannik sinner as a completely fake and fraudulent "all-time great".

Sure, it is still possible for joao fonseca to prove that he is a true all-time great by achieving a positive head-to-head against novak djokovic, but based on the fact that joao fonseca has now a completely losing head-to-head against alex de minaur whereas novak djokovic has a completely dominant head-to-head against alex de minuar, I do not ever see joao fonseca ending up with a positive head-to-head against novak djokovic that would confirm joao fonseca as the next true all-time great.

Couldn't fonseca still beat demon a few times to gain the lead. I think he hasn't reached his peak yet at 18.

Sure, joao fonseca could beat alex de minaur several times to gain a positive head-to-head against alex de minaur but the fact that joao fonseca is already performing worse against alex de minaur than novak djokovic who is two decades older than joao fonseca is the worst possible sign for joao fonseca being a true all-time great. Either way, joao fonseca's fate will be completely mathematically determined once he faces novak djokovic.

Well, you have to consider that for Fonseca, it is 18 year old child vs peak demon, a solid top 10 player. Djokovic leads their h2h 2-0. 2-1 if you count the united cup and one of those wins was in 2023, one of his best years. The other was in Monte-Carlo 2024 where Djokovic at least made the semis and then lost to an in-form ruud. You have to wonder how big of a difference that is.

Well the thing is that the age difference between novak djokovic and joao fonseca is two decades so the whole "joao fonseca is young and low-ranked so it is okay if joao fonseca loses" is completely utterly wrong because joao fonseca if he is a true all-time great, should be able to perform better than novak djokovic who is way, way older than joao fonseca if joao fonseca is a true all-time great because novak djokovic is the true all-time great STANDARD.

I put fed up there, but I see that.

I put fed up there, but I see that.
Well novak djokovic is the last remaining true all-time great so thus for the current upcoming players who want to be true all-time greats, they must gain a dominant head-to-head against novak djokovic with no other losing head-to-heads against other true all-time greats if they are to be considered true all-time greats.

@Tennis Devolution you should make a chronology of the real number 1s in tennis history.

A real number 1 must have a positive h2h against previous number 1s.
That's why Sinner, Alcaraz, Medvedev and Murray cannot be considered real number 1s.
Well the head-to-heads between world number ones are not as mathematically predictive as the head-to-heads between true all-time greats who have won six grand slams or more.

Being world number one is not as mathematically predictive of the emergence of a younger true all-time great as the grand slam count.
So Sinner, Alcaraz, Medvedev and Murray, even if they can't be considered eternally all-time greats because of your mathematical predictive model, at least they can still be considered true number 1s even if they're not all-time greats?

Give me this hope, can Sinner still be considered a true number 1?

No, technically jannik sinner is number one, but jannik sinner can never ever be a true all-time great who was number one.

Throughout tennis history, simply being number one does not prevent you at all from developing losing head-to-heads against other number ones who are more than ten years older. For instance, andy roddick who was number one has a losing head-to-head against andre agassi who was number one and is also twelve years older than andy roddick.

I add that Sinner has an overall negative record in h2h against players who boast the status of number 1 of 17-21.

Here, maybe Roddick with his eternally losing head to head with Agassi, has drawn that line of demarcation compared to the past of the number 1s who preceded him.

However, fortunately you have confirmed that Sinner, even if he cannot be considered eternally one of the greats of all time, at least his status as number 1 is not in question, minimal consolation but always better than nothing.

Well no, andy roddick still came before jannik sinner, carlos alcaraz, andy murray, and daniil medvedev so it was always possible for a younger world number one to have a losing head-to-head to an older world number one separated by a large amount of age. For instance, carlos moya a former world number one has a losing head-to-head against stefan edberg who is older than carlos moya by ten years of age.

What is also true is that prior to carlos alcaraz, daniil medvedev, and jannik sinner, no world number one ever had a losing head-to-head to another world number one who was more than twelve years older so definitely, carlos alcaraz, daniil medvedev, and jannik sinner are the weakest world number ones in tennis history ever who could be considered not true world number ones because they all could not hold the previous non-losing head-to-head world number one standard where no world number one had ever had a losing head-to-head against another world number one who was more than twelve years older.

So I was fooled once again?

In any case, in light of your mathematical predictive model that has literally checkmated some dogmas of the past, I hope that Nadal will reconsider and return to play.
The only limited hope that Sinner can still aspire to become one of the all-time greats is clinging to a return of Nadal, therefore trying to overturn that h2h that at the moment sees him eternally unfavorable against an ATG who is at least 10 years older.

Even if here too, even in the remote hypothesis that that scenario materializes, I fear that even the indelible stain of his now being a confirmed negligent doper, will take away any residual hope I have that Sinner can one day be part of the all-time greats.

With your mathematical predictive model you have revealed yourself to be cruel but honest.
Everyone should accept the truth for what it is, and I am starting to do so, thanks to your revolutionary and incontrovertible mathematical predictive model applied to the true greats of all time.

Yes, it seems a little strange that a player aspiring to atg has a 0:3 record against the 35-year-old Nadal. Yes, all the duels were on clay, but I doubt that he would have managed to beat him on hard at that age.
However, the case of Alcaraz is far more dramatic. He has a score of 3:5 against the 37-year-old Novak. It's just crazy that a young slam champion has such a bad record against a man who is 16 years older.
Fonseca vs Novak? Novak is almost 20 years older than him... Novak's first ATP title is one month older than Fonseca.

Bot-generated gibberish. At least program it to add more punctuation. I think the computer was panting by the time it reached the end of that sentence.

This is my favorite passage: "completely capable of completely regardless of the completely corrupt tennis media propaganda that completely falsely states ...." It reminds me of an old SNL skit with Chris Farley: "So I says to the guy, I says, I says, I says to the guy, I says, I says ...."

This appears to be a weeks-long experiment to test how much online time people can be suckered into wasting in futile dialogue.

Yup...the thing is that if we are being completely honest, neither carlos alcaraz nor jannik sinner can ever be considered as true all-time greats or even true world number ones.

The best thing that both carlos alcaraz and jannik sinner can hope for is that rafael nadal returns for some last hurrah in order for carlos alcaraz and jannik sinner to fully redeem themselves and obtain at least a non-losing head-to-head against rafael nadal but that possibility is essentially practically impossible at this point.

I know that you and I have clashed before on this topic but I do understand that you support jannik sinner and I am not trying to attack jannik sinner and carlos alcaraz for "no reason" but am just trying to demonstrate to everyone that there is a true all-time great standard that was maintained throughout all of tennis history and that we should mantain this true all-time great standard rather than completely demolish the true all-time great standard for just the sake of both jannik sinner and carlos alcaraz.

The truth may be cruel and harsh but both jannik sinner and carlos alcaraz are still multiple slam winners who are transitional-time greats which is already a fine achievement on its own because not everyone needs to be a true all-time great in order to be completely appreciated in tennis.

I completely know that the TRUTH really, really HURTS you so much.

Yup, the head-to-heads between true all-time greats separated by more than ten years of age have never ever lied throughout the entire history of tennis so thus, both jannik sinner and carlos alcaraz can never ever be true all-time greats ever.

With joao fonseca, the first irrefutable and indisputable sign that joao fonseca is not a true all-time great either is the fact that joao fonseca now holds a completely losing head-to-head against alex de minaur whereas novak djokovic who is a true all-time great who is two decades older than joao fonseca holds a completely positive dominant head-to-head against alex de minaur.
