The three happiest days of your life ...

Hey ... aside from your wedding day (hmmm ... maybe divorce day for others of us) and the birth days of your children ... what would you say were the three happiest days of your life?

... yeah, let's try and keep it PG ... and ... yes, this is a serious question (... although some levity and humor are encouraged) ... for me ... hmmm

(1) the day I was discharged from active duty from the US Navy; (2) the day I graduated from college with my masters degree; and (3) my first date with this really cool (as in distant and stand-offish) but very attractive lady ... "Oh, What a Night" ... a Four Seasons song, I believe ... yeah, it was the beginning of a beautiful (but problematic) relationship ...

... my hypothesis: one of your three "happiest" days will involve romance ... ah, yes ... it does make the world go round ... yeah, I'm a hopeless romantic!

I'm only 18 so bear with me....

1. Prom night - When I first saw her, holy s#!t I couldn't believe I was that lucky and we get along too so it was awesome. Couldn't bring her to the after party with me though since she had to leave early the next day but it was still fun. great night. and I hit with ttwer Rommil before it and that was fun. It was also my last day of school

2. Some day at the beginning of May and I won this tournament in a tight match after being down match points. That weekend was awesome so I'm counting it as a day since I got revenge on that Friday against the only kid to ever beat me in high school tennis. I lost the first one 5-7 5-7 and I won the second 6-2 6-0. I lost the first two games but played amazing and destroyed him. Also had some fun parties that weekend and got my prom date too

3. The weekend I went to Saint Joes Uni in Philly. It was amazing, two awesome parties and crazy nights that almost got us killed but it was awesome. Also went to the game v Temple in bball and it went to overtime.

my honorable mention would have to be picking SJU as my college for next year. I'm playing DI tennis there and my prom date (I know crazy right) is going to nova, right up the road.

Hey, T1000 ... thanks for responding ... you've had some great days (... and some great nights) already ... here's wishing you many more great days!

Come on people ... don't be shy about sharing with us ... we promise not to bite ... I know some of you out there have a few great stories to share!!

1. Watched first good porn vid
2. First kiss
3. Spent weekend with dreamboat

how ironic that I live like a cloistered nun now.

I have had so many happy days doing really simple things. They were happy because it was pure fun with no stress or expectations at all.

Common things that I don't really treasure.

First kiss - Nervous.

First "date" - Young and nervous.

Graduated HS - Boring. We were out in the heat. Girls were asking for mirrors to check for makeup running. People were losing their patience.

Graduated college - My mother was in the hospital a week prior, so I didn't go.

Truth is, some of my happiest days were going to the beach and riding waves with friends. Sitting in the grass as a kid. So many good days it is hard to rank them. First time I experienced being close to a sonic boom was cool. I am probably going to see Space Shuttle Discovery launch for the last time, so that should be memorable.

1. Bush Gardens - I had a great vacation to Bush Gardens with my mother that I will never forget. Despite getting burned on my arm by hot chocolate badly the night before going to the park, and getting lost on the way home, it was a great time. The ride to Tampa was interesting with all the sights. We found the coziest hotel (Sterling Suites) where I played pool with some business men (and nearly beat) at night.

2. Six Flags Atlantis - I went there once. Looking back, it feels like a privilege to have taken part. Wish I went down the Thunderbolt, though. I was like 9 years old and too scared.

Hey Centered ... thanks for sharing ... so, sounds like you enjoyed a pretty auspicious beginning ... so, what's the story behind your change of "habit" (sorry for the pun) and your new found life as a cloistered nun?

Hey Kobble ... you sound like a very positive and HAPPY individual ... thanks for sharing and hope your life is filled with many, many more happy days!

1. First Kick Serve - Yes, i know it sounds sports-geekish, but this was a culmination of all that I'd been through up to that point. I was in uni and I had dislocated my shoulder about a year earlier, and the doctors said that I should give up ALL racquet sports - and i play badminton, squash and tennis. Also, doctors said that if I ever tried to extend through my shoulder again, I'd pop 90% of the time. I was sooooooo terrified to serve, let alone try a kicker - i had dislocated the shoulder on a kick serve attempt. I was too stubborn to give up. Eventually went thru my own personal rehab, trained more and finally, one cloudy morning, when no one was around and i was just practicing, I hit a kick serve. Watching it arc, hit the floor and jump into the fence, i think i fell to my knees and cried a little. Just a little.

2. First Paycheck - It was the first time i had money in the bank and i knew it was MINE. ALL MINE. And from now on, i could do whatever i wanted with it and no parents to hold me back. It also brought a huge sense of responsibility and spending-power - felt like i was really my own man and i could pave my own pathways.

3. Graduation - A little background on this - im frm Malaysia, and my grandparents were from a small village, so almost no education whatsoever. My parents were well-educated - but 70s style - mostly certified courses and up to pre-u level. I was first in my entire family line to enter university, let alone graduate. Finally suiting up in the robes and all, my mom was teary-eyed, saying that i was the absolute FIRST in the family to graduate. It was f-king awesome.

Thanks, downdaline ... and congratulations!

I am having trouble even defining "happiest" let alone coming up wth three specific days.

So far I am thinking about:

1) Momentous days that mark long term situations that were the basis of a huge amount of happiness for me that might not have been all that happy that one particular day.

2) Days that happened to have within their 24 hours, brief episodes of extreme happiness

3) Days that because of events, were happy for the majority of the day even running into other days.

1. Graduating from High School-I struggled to keep my grades up, and getting that diploma was very important.

2.Graduating from college (bachelor's degree)-see previous note. This was even harder to get.

3. last summer, when I finally gathered up the courage to leave my job. I had worked for my dad since high school and was very miserable. I'm now in school learning how to be a legal assistant.

wow this is tough
1. Sky diving followed by sailing
2. First date with the women of my dreams, 5 years and going..
3. Drivers license! freedom in the form or a laminated card

... that's because you are a pretty positive person and have been blessed with a number of seemingly happy days/periods ... lucky you ... enjoy and continued contentment and happiness to you!

my first date with a girl.. I was too young to have a car,so I told her let's meet at the movie theater .. I tried taking the bus to the theater but never it showed up, so I ran all the way .. when I finally arrived she was still waiting in front of the theater for me... after the movies I walked her home(holding hands).. after I saw her to the door, she kissed me on the cheek good night.. I ran home and running home,I felt like I was floating on air..

most recent.. when on of my kids won a national title ..

the day I came home after spending a year aboard after college...

I can't tell for sure which were the happiest days of my life. But, I do tell my wife that the happiest day in her father's life was the day we got married. lol

No..No...No... The correct saying is: "Women: you can't live with them and you can't kill them."

1. The day I fell in love with God, and all the days that have followed since.

2. All the years I spent with my beloved little dachshunds (now over a decade ago).

3. The day I found that happiness and peace are inside me permanently, not something to be found outside. And I realized that my search is over.

Plenty more too, some hard to describe, and I don't want to "psyche" people out. :-D

Thanks for a positive thread.

So, what do you think posters ... was I right ... or was I right ... most of you mentioned at least one "happiest day" that involved romance ... like I said, love really does make the world go round!

first HDTV ?!

also, is it me or do Davis and Tina travel in tandem?
Not that i know either of you, but just an observation...

Hey, Oro, don't knock it *smile* ... wish I had an HDTV ... as for your observation ... no, we're not a doubles team ... we just coincidentally post on the same threads ... so there ... LOL
