The toughest test for Alcaraz this USO

I think Zverev will be the toughest test for Alcaraz this USO. If he passes it, he will win the title.

Medvedev, Rublev, Shelton or even Djokovic aren’t really going to stop Alcaraz if he passes the test.

Medvedev will be pushed for his return position and court position and loses in straights or 4 sets.

Rublev doesn’t have the weapons to hurt Alcaraz

Shelton doesn’t have the experience to beat Alcaraz in slam final if he reaches there!

Djokovic, while he won in Cincinnati - would probably push Alcaraz the most out of the above 3 guys, but if the match goes 5h mark or something, my pick would be Alcaraz in that match.

Only real threat is Zverev, who - when on song can become a matchup issue for Alcaraz. Has big first serve, has a solid back hand and has beaten Alcaraz handsomely too.

Will Zverev take down the Alcaraz campaign today?!

Djoko needs to beat Shelton fast as he will need to be able to last 4-5 hours if he wants a chance against Raz!

What I saw today of Shelton - he is not going to be an easy opponent. That serve itself is going to make it a close match.

While I hope Djokovic wins this, but he clearly is the underdog if he reaches the finals and faces Carlitos. Sad but true

It is expected at this point. However, even as the underdog you can never rule Djokovic out. He’s pulled off incredible performances before. He will fight if he gets there like he did last few times with Carlos. Carlos the favourite but it’s still a compelling rivalry and will be fun to get it regardless of who wins.

Both djokovic and zverev to a lesser extent can beat carlos, based on recent results. Carlos hasn't yet dominated novak like wawrinka did, never losing to novak at a slam when in peak form and fitness.

Stan was in peak form in Australia 2013 and us open 2013 as well as Australia 2015 when he lost to Novak. However I agree that match up wise Warwinka when on fire had all the weapons to hurt Novak.

However not sure if that would work against Novak's playing style of 2021 to 2023, Novak is more aggressive now especially on forehand and hits the ball much deeper and aggressively than 7 or 8 yes ago
