1. Like 6-1
2. Fedr never won Rome and Montecarlo, though he lost many finals of them. Nadal never won Miami, and Paris?
3. I only remember Hrbaty if I am right
4. I only remember Nadal
5. David Foster Wallace
6. Don't know. Would like to know.
7. Same as above
8. Didn't know Peter or Pete wasn't Sampras first name
9. The logical answer would be Canada, the country everybody knows he represents. I assume tricky question here. So my guess is Russia, or Spain.
10. Daniil Medvedev? This question makes me think about the way Russian players disappeared from top ATP rankings as of late.

My score is not very good here. The questions are rather difficult (at least for me).
That's pretty decent, the questions are pretty eclectic. I'll give you 6&7 in a spoiler and wait for others to respond for the rest.
EDIT: your score is 3.33

Michael Joyce, in Montreal. IMO it's an even better essay than the other one. Joyce coached Sharapova.

A bonus point on the Nadal H2H question would be Davydenko. I can't believe I forgot him. :) Aside from Djokovic he's the next most obvious.

Wow. I missed a lot. Didn't think all those guys had 5+ finals. I know how many they each won, I just didn't realize they were all RUP's enough times to have 5 or more.
Well I always knew Connors had 6 finals because that was why I put him over Nadal on grass and I knew that Becker had lots of Wimb finals.

Mac lost a Wimb final to Borg and another to Connors as far as I know. And he has 3 titles. So he is also on the list.

Apologies if I missed any responses. Answers in
1. What's the H2H between Rafa and Fedr on indoor HC?
6-1. But ATP counts 5-1 bc Shanghai is officially an outdoors event. Either 5-1 or 6-1 could be considered correct, bonus for getting the full answer.

2. Which Masters has Fedr never won? Which hasn't Nadal?
Federer hasn't won MC or Rome. Nadal hasn't won Miami or Paris. Partial credit for saying Shanghai, since he's won Madrid (indoor event that was in the same slot as Shanghai back then).

3. Name at least 3 players with whom Nadal has a losing H2H. Bonus points for more than 3.
You can look up for more, but the 3 I had in mind were Djokovic, Dreddy Brown, Davydenko.

4. Name at least 3 players with whom Djokovic has a losing H2H. Bonus points for more than 3.
The 3 I had in mind were Ivo, Roddick, Zverev. I think what everyone else said was correct except for Nadal. Djokovic still has that, 26-25.

5. Who was the author of the essay "Federer as a Religious Experience"?
David Foster Wallace

6. Which other player did that author profile, and at what event?
Michael Joyce, at the qualies of Montreal. IMO it's his best stuff, gets really into the technicalities of tennis. The Fedr essay is kinda flaky let's be honest.

7. That player later became more known as a coach. Who is he most famous for coaching? (Hint: WTA player)
Sharapova

8. What is Pete Sampras' first name?
Petros

9. Where was Denis Shapovalov born?
Israel. His mother is Jewish. he moved to Canada as a baby.

10. Who is currently the top ranked Russian player?
It's Rublev, ranked 31

Yeah. Forgot or didn't know that McEnroe lost to Connors in one of them. Always knew he lost to Borg.

I'm sick and tired of the GOAT debate now, and the relevant threads. So let's see if this idea works. For all I know this thread might just get completely ignored but hey it's worth a try.

I'll start by posting a random trivia question, try not to check wiki or other sources if you can. Once a poster gets the question right, he/she starts another trivia question, etc.

PLEASE, NO bashing and debating of GOAThood here.

OK.

Trivia 1:

To date, Nadal has only lost 5 5th sets (!) in his entire career. Name the year, tournament, round, opponent, and final set score for these 5 losses. (I can remember 4 easily from memory, but the other one took some time...)

Since my inception of the thread many years ago, Nadal has lost quite a few 5th sets:

2015 USO 3R Fognini 4-6
2016 USO 4R Pouille 6-7(6)
2017 AO F Federer 3-6
2017 Wimbledon 4R 13-15
2018 AO QF Cilic 0-2 ret.
2018 Wimbledon Djokovic 8-10

Federer 6-1-8-5
Djokovic 7-1-5-3
Nadal 1-12-2-4
Sampras 2-0-7-5
Lendl 2-3-0-3 (or 1-3-0-4?)
Edberg??? Not sure what the distribution is, but since he didn’t win the French Open it’s probably an even split of 2 titles at the other 3 Slams.

That’s all I got.

Edberg??? Not sure what the distribution is, but since he didn’t win the French Open it’s probably an even split of 2 titles at the other 3 Slams.

That’s all I got.

You are right. Edberg is 2-2-2 at Australia, Wimbledon and US Open.
Lendl is 2-3-0-3

I'm pretty sure Laver and Emerson will have multiple slams at 3 each, not sure how many at open era.

Notable misses. People who won 3/4 different slams but one of them was single slam
Connors : 1-0-2-5
Becker : 2-0-3-1
Agassi : 4-1-1-2
Wilander: 3-3-0-1

...

Wilander and Lendl

Add Rosewall too (winner at 3/4 Majors). However, Rosewall was barred from playing Majors for ELEVEN years during his career as a result of his professional status (he turned pro in 1957 and open tennis began in 1968). In addition he was barred from playing W in 1972 as a result of his status as a WCT player. And he was part of the boycott of W in 1973. That’s THIRTEEN missed opportunities to win W.

I don’t know what excuse the other two have.

It's been a while since this thread saw any light, time for a French Open quiz. It'll be all Men's Singles related.

1. How many times have Nadal and Djokovic faced off against each other at the FO? Bonus points if you can get all the years correct.

2. Who were Kuerten's three opponents in his three finals? Bonus points for years.

3. Which players have beaten Federer multiple times at the FO?

4. Who played in the first all Spanish Men's Singles final at the FO?

5. Who played the 1982 Men's FO Final and to the nearest hour, how long was the match?

6. This match used to hold the record for longest match ever, before it was eclipsed by Mahut/Isner at Wimbledon 2010. Who played in it?

7. McEnroe has stated that this match was his worst loss of his career. Who was it against and who won which sets?

8. How many times has a player came back from 0-2 in sets to win the FO final? French Championships pre open era, notwithstanding.

9. Name three opponents Wawrinka beat on route to the 2015 title? Bonus points for four or more.

10. Name four opponents Federer beat on route to the 2009 title? Bonus points for five or more.

11. Name four opponents Nadal beat on route to the 2005 title? Bonus points for five or more.

12. Who gave Djokovic his first loss ever at the FO?

13. Wawrinka famously won the FO by defeating the top two seeds of the tournament. Who was the last player prior to do so at the Men's FO and who did he beat?

14. How many consecutive FO titles did Borg win? What years?

15. Who rubbed their bum over a mark on the court during a Men's SF match? ;)

Have fun.
