The TT Football Club

Anti Spursy activated. They're giving West Ham a good beating in this second half. Most impressive. Angeball is the cream, Ange in.
FPL is dangerous, I'm sitting there seeing the 4-1 and I'm supposed to be happy but all I can think about is how none of the second half scores were tallied or assisted by the players on my team. I found myself hoping Bowen would get some bs goal against the run of play because it wouldn't change the outcome.

Oh yeah, I totally understand. I've shared some similar undesirable thoughts as far as FPL points are concerned.

And there it is, goal for Brentford. Ten Hag booked.

What can ya say? Same old United by the sounds of it.
More than likely! He’s still standing so we’re yet to discover his Kryptonite, but there must be something.

I’d say maybe we could hire some dodgy journalists, like the ones who got Big Sam when he was England manager.. but knowing ETH and Sir Jim, he’ll probably say “oh he was losing games for money! That means he was doing it on purpose and can easily reverse it. New 12 year contract for you, my cue ball friend!

Ahh, well if you are to lose the bet, hopefully it’s from an early Mbeumo goal. I could use the points! But if recent history tells us anything, it’s probably more likely to be a centre back running through the entire team to get the early goal :D maybe I should buy Pinnock

If only I’d taken my own advice :D

Damn. haha :oops:Hate when that happens, unlucky. Would have been an inspirational choice, although any defender is at the minute. That's why I brought Van De Ven in, but he hasn't been able to do it against anybody else.

The critics are going to have your head, although your competition vs the media is more in your favour due to your success. Ten Hag's mask slipping a bit with his booking. The watchalong sounded enthusiastic for about 10 minutes then as usual, it ended badly.

Good start to second half though.

At least Maddison got the assist on the early goal to make something of it. But I have to watch that situation because it feels like he is slipping a bit out of form. The early substitution was the correct move and it was not a phenomenon in isolation.

What a relief to get the much needed win against Swansea today. It was actually a pretty comfortable 1-0 win, as despite Swansea having something like 65% of possession they barely created any real chances.

5 wins out of 5 at home, and 0 wins out of 5 away is quite a sharp contrast !

Free Hit?

I think they’ve missed out the first letter of the second word :D
Reminds me of a famous stone cold quote. ''If you put an "S" in front of Hitman, you have my exact thoughts on Bret Hart.'' It has been pure unadulterated sh1t so far. :p

Need the big guns to help me out tomorrow. Bournemouth looking decent here, Arsenal's red card strategy in ruins. ArTETa oUT.

Classic!

I feel for you. Another one of those weeks where it doesn’t matter what you do, you’re going to be disappointed.

You’ve taken action and used a chip, picked a great team on paper for this week.. and got nothing. I on the other, have done nothing, made no transfers.. and have done equally as bad!

I’m not sure it’s possible to score decent points this season :-D

Sir Colewell will rescue our squads on the morn

What a goal machine Welbeck is right now.

I hope Brighton continue to do well and finish as high up the league as possible. They're a joy to watch and a jewel in the crown in the league. Also so far Rutter has been a very successful signing.

The sad reality is that most clubs in the Premier League will inevitably get relegated at some point whether that is next season, in 5 years' time, in 10 years' time etc.. Eventually they'll struggle to sufficiently replace star players that move on, make a managerial appointment that doesn't work out, and they will not be able to beat 'the cycle'.

So it's important to make the most of their time in the top flight, show as much 'realistic' ambition (i.e. without being financially reckless) as possible, and enjoy it.

Everton are a weird case, as this is their 71st consecutive season in the top flight, but were dangerously close to relegation in 2021/2022 (after not previously facing any serious relegated danger since the early 00s) and 2022/2023. Last season they weren't exactly great but they were always going to finish above the 3 promoted teams at least.

Man City pre-takover in 2008 were one of those clubs as well, after winning the lottery, they've made the most of it.

Welbeck has been incredible! Fortunately it looks like his injury isn’t too bad. At the time I thought he’d broken his back. Stretchered off, given oxygen etc.. sounds like it was just a bruise and he was ok after, so it was a bit of a strange one.

Rutter has been good too, yes. He seems to have a trademark already, somehow winning it back in dangerous areas and in winning it back, he crosses it into the middle.. all in the same action. He set up a goal against Spurs like that, and he did it again yesterday. I’m not sure he means to do it, but it’s impressive!

@optic yellow

I'm having those nasty FPL thoughts now. Wishing for Haaland goals like some sort of tratior, but gvardiol scores instead, you can bet that was not celebrated. lol You've got it all going on at the moment. Praise be.

I decided to avoid most of the United talk on YouTube. I put the start of Goldbridge on and his son was in the studio at the start, awww great scenes. Goldbridge and son went to the game to prove they support United. He didn't take son to the Goldbridge Arms because too young to drink. ''The Brentford fans were giving it. If you don't think these players are playing for Ten Hag.'' etc

I'm just imagining some other channels had to rewrite their script. Oops.

Team news is in, and Enzo is going for it!

Reece James starts. Lavia too.

We’re either going to be crocked, or Liverpool will be rocked :D

They’ll probably only last 10 minutes, but it’ll be fun whilst it lasts.

Enjoy the match.

I'd go out for a long walk now if the weather wasn't so miserable. FPL has broken me again. Only one player could have helped me and he's on the bench. Rough estimation says I'm going to end up 50-80 points off top.

I’m not expecting to enjoy it :-D it feels like the last mock exam before the real one that dictates how the next 5 years will go.

The process, performance and overall result are going to be enlightening, one way or the other.

Haha yes, FPL is up to it’s old tricks. Apparently I’ve dropped to 6 million in the world. I was 138k in the world last year! No chance I can get that again, but there are still 29 weeks, hopefully I can claw a few points back here and there and leapfrog some friends and family in the mini leagues. No idea how when my players only get 1-2 points, but we’ll see :D

I have to laugh. VAR can't even stop City, Johnny Boulders rescues them once more.

''Very controversial.'' Indeed. Same old City, always cheating. Oh wait, wrong team, same old Arsenal. always cheating.

Sounds very exciting.

I just can't believe how bad FPL has been. 10 points and only 2 players left, 1 on bench. Yeah, Palmer can do it for me but everybody has him and all these other players still to use. Complete disaster. Funny though, I have to laugh.

If Man City are at least in touching distance of the league leaders by January time even if they aren't top themselves, I'd fully expect them to win the title again for the gazillionth year in a row.

During the only seasons during which a Guardiola team hasn’t won the league title, Mourinho's Real Madrid in 2011/2012 and Klopp's Liverpool in 2019/2020 had insanely good first halves of the season piling up win after win after win to build up comfortable buffers (and ended up with record or almost record breaking campaigns), while Conte's Chelsea in 2016/2017 after some shaky results went on a huge winning streak to take charge and build up their own strong lead (and I think they ended up setting the record for the most wins at the time as well).

I fear that as long as Guardiola is at City, that's what it takes to stop them winning the title.

With City they have been pushed to the brink a lot 13/14 17/18 18/19 22/23 23/24 but the teams couldn't get over the line. Like how did City win all 5 of these.

Anyway 7 of the last 10 and 2nd finishes they are definitely the Kings and have been for a while now.
