The TT Football Club

I would have considered getting the new game if I didn't get the undisputed boxing game. All because of this commercial. No doubt Luke is thrilled because The Replacer is back.

Maybe Dalot was calculating, and deliberately missed that open goal against West Ham last Sunday, so that Ten Hag would be sacked and his compatriot Amorim would come him.

Give him a new contract and a bumper pay rise.

I like Chelsea anyway, but as I’m basically useless in fantasy football without Jackson and Palmer, I’m wanting them to score bundles of goals in every game.

Caicedo eh, what a player. Brilliant tackle there. Great strike for his goal as well. Yes, a worthy player of the match performance.

I can be disappointed that we didn't win. Some real good chances at the end.

I don’t know about you, but it always feels like the Old Trafford pitch is waaaayy too big.

Like you’re building up at the back and the centre backs need walkie-talkies to communicate, they’re so far apart.

Man Utd get blasted for not pressing well, but every team who presses there looks like a lone person frolicking in a 30 hectare field :-D a switch of play is like a goal kick. Takes an age to get there and they’re rarely accurate over such vast distances.

I’m sure it’s not overly bigger than other grounds, maybe it’s just an optimal illusion.. but yeah, doesn’t feel conducive to quality.

All in all a decent result for United against a good team. The attacking players (every one of them) leaves a lot to be desired, however.

Chelsea were bad. Looked totally unrecognisable to how they’ve been playing so far this year. No idea if the plan was different, or they just couldn’t get going. Every first touch was poor too.

Was just a poor quality game all round, for both sides. The fact both teams got a point out of it is probably more than they deserved :-D

I'm still on cloud 9 football wise just because we're free. It's been a week now so I expect the feeling will disappear tomorrow. Then Amorim will come in and lead us to the promised land. Hopes everybody at United.

Please be the one, homes.

PAOK and Leicester coming up then the ''fresh start.''

And I'm suited up for it. GGMU.

Good day for ol Kral today. Praise be and like little Carmine would say, my friend.

''Enjoy your success.''

An incredibly boring game, with such low quality passing and attacking play, but what a strike by Caicedo for the equaliser.

I'd still rather watch the awful first 70 minutes back again, than listen to any of Neville and Keane's punditry with the rinse and repeat points about Man Utd's players and recruitment though !

On the subject of Neville and Keane, while I think they're both poor pundits, I do quite like the Stick to Football podcast with them though, though not Gary Neville's uncomfortable attempts to advertise those vitamin drinks. The latest episode with Glenn Hoddle was very interesting. Keane (Hoddle was his footballing hero growing up) and Scholes (who said that he was his favourite England manager), were both in awe of him. It's more fun when the guest isn't yet another former Man Utd team-mate.

What a performance by Atalanta away to Napoli earlier today. Lookman was on fire, and Gasperini's decision to start with Retegui on the bench clearly caught Napoli on the hop.

One of my main football wishes outside the English domestic game, is for Atalanta and Gasperini to win the Scudetto in the not too distant future. There have been very few teams I've enjoyed watching over the past 8 years, more than Gasperini's Atalanta team.

My Mum's guy as well. haha Yeah, she was one of Hoddle's many female admirers.

Couldn't agree more on Keane and Neville today. I had to turn them off, I wouldn't say it was depressing, but it is so stale. Did anybody really expect more today? I was expecting a win for Chelsea.

The coverage today started at 1, and finished at 8.. so 7 hours of Man Utd talk, With a Man Utd player on commentary, followed by the Roy Keane show.. after a week of wall to wall Man Utd and Amorim talk.

Even Man Utd fans are probably bored of it.

Chelsea were really poor today and should’ve been held accountable. But they weren’t even mentioned, bar Caicedo.

No wonder fans these days are resorting to illegal streams and watching content creators online. The coverage here is so stale.

I see a good day for Barcelona as well. Winning the clasico last week and the derby today.

I know, I know, another boring United video here. But it's not your typical ''influencer doing the character assassination bravado.'' No, you can actually learn something here.

Yes it's tedious and poor. I typically merely watch the game these days and avoid all the punditry before, after and at half-time.

I understand that when a giant club like Man Utd or Liverpool (pre-Klopp) are in crisis, that's always going to attact the most wider interest and eye balls (even more than when they're doing well). But this is ridiculous and way over the top.

The Man Utd fans I know in person also say they largely avoid the punditry as well, saying that they prefer listening to Neville and Keane talking about other clubs. I don't rate their punditry when it comes to other clubs either, with from what I saw in the past a limited set of cliches and buzzwords trotted out, but at least that's more bearable.

In the distant past when we were in the Premier League, I'm sure that we received comparatively more attention and coverage than the smaller Premier League clubs receive nowadays. But barely mentioning Chelsea (i.e. one of the biggest clubs in the world with a large fanbase in their own right), which I'm not surprised to hear was the case, is just absurd.

For proper football analysis, I tend to watch things such as Tifo Football, HITC Sevens, and the like on YouTube.

I missed this earlier. Man Utd call of duty addiction there for all to see.

Where are you, captain? I can't find you.

There really does need to be some kind of seismic shake up, even if the coverage was free, it would be poor. For the amount of money they charge? It’s ridiculous.

There wasn’t any build up for the Spurs v Villa game either. For me, Spurs are a fascinating team. Numbers wise, I think they’re the best attack in the league and a top 5 defence. Obviously they get very Spursy every other game, but that makes them all the more fascinating. Then there’s Villa, who are top of the Champions League table so far and are arguably closer to the City/Arsenal/Liverpool top 3 than they are to the clubs chasing top 4. No mention of them today, unfortunately.

Ahh yes, those are some good ones! The Athletic are always good. Even regular people online are very good. Like I know there will be 3 or 4 incredible threads on Twitter this evening breaking everything down. There will be screenshots and video clips, some people are more lenient, others are quite harsh.. but they watch Chelsea games in this level of detail every week and know what’s happening on a level these pundits have no clue about. I imagine all clubs have the same. The lack of quality coverage means there’s a massive gap in the market.

You hear it today. “Caicedo looked good, finally!”.. I mean, his first few months were a struggle, but he’s been doing this every game since last Christmas. It’s news to them. They were shocked Gusto came off at half time. He’s playing as a number 10 on the opposite side to Palmer, and the position causes teams problems, but he’s a full back so when he receives the ball in those areas, he doesn’t have the ability to make it count. He’s where attacks go to die. But again, these pundits don’t know that.

Instead it’s all “Maresca is doing well, tough job keeping so many players happy innit”. Cheers for that lads, top level analysis. Most insightful! (y)

:-D

I actually did some research, Old Trafford is actually a fairly standard size pitch. Something like half of the PL have exactly the same size, and OT is in that group. Maybe it’s just the camera angles! So yes, ignore me.

Stamford Bridge and Anfield are two of the smallest though. Palace and Fulham being the other two at the bottom.

Interesting stuff.

Yeah, I was looking at an article. it sounds like the same one you were looking at. I guess it must all come down to micrometres. City Ground is the biggest, apparently, even though , like you said, I got down to Stamford Bridge at number 15 before there is a change in number.

I know good ol Simon Jordan loves the sound of his own voice, he was talking about United again. I thought he was making sense. Man United are not worthy of the clicks they get these days, winning 4 of the first 5 premier league titles made them the boss, the headline act of this new exciting time and that turned them into the supreme worldwide force. They live off that, the past accomplishments. The amount of coverage they still get might not be earned.

Sounds like it! I didn’t pay attention enough in Maths, but it’s something like 7140m as the most common. Anfield and Stamford Bridge more like 6900m (nice!).

I know it’s probably metres squared or whatever, but a 200m difference sounds a lot!

It takes Olympic sprinters 20 seconds to sprint that, and me more than double (not including the rest with hands on the knees, gasping for air after the first 100).

200m2 difference is 20m longer by 10m wider. Still pretty substantial, it's similar to an American football field vs a Canadian football field and the difference is instantly noticeable for someone accustomed to one or the other. But you more think of it in microaggression terms, each run the striker makes is 5-10m longer taking just a bit more out of them each time over the course of the match.

Ange weakness I think aside from the sometimes inflexibility is the sometimes lose mental sharpness. The system he uses clearly works though and they are a pretty class squad at every level of the pitch.

Interesting! It does seem crazy that there isn’t a standard pitch size in 2024. We’ve got goal line technology, automated offsides.. yet you’re playing on a different size pitch every other week :-D

You’d think the quality would improve with the same pitch size for everyone. Even things like high lines being a couple of metres different each time, dancing down the wing one game would have you in the front row of the stands the next. Your corner that would hit the back post one game is heading for the front post next weekend etc..

:D Brilliant, I've kept it on repeat for a few minutes.

''You make me sick.'' lol
Artetaliban knows that’s his true level. Had a few years of bottling titles now that there’s other good teams in the league outside of City and an ancient Liverpool side he’s been exposed.

Chelsea back on the come up has spooked him. United with Amorim will leapfrog him. Unai Emery outdoing him with less time and money. Nuno outdoing him in Forrest.

The cone setter knows it’s a matter of time before he’s back down to midtable where he belongs.

Well it's like this for cricket and baseball. I don't mind it, different fields inject variety to the game. As long as they are all within reason I can't find a problem.

That’s true.

I reckon if they redevelop Stamford Bridge, we should put our goal behind the main stand.

You have to smack it 90 yards, over the roof, blind and beat the keeper.
