I also heard that he wanted to stay in the Premier League. That Gaston Edul fella, who is pretty much flawless on any news relating to players from Argentina, seems to think it will be Chelsea.

Although tonight it sounds like he might actually be closer to Napoli. Which is giving me a bit of hope!

Sounds like they’ve agreed personal stuff and a fee with Man Utd, whilst we’re still deciding what to do. Could come out last minute and blow them out the water, but hopefully it’s too far advanced.

Crazy! And Khusanov, and they’ve also signed Juma Bah from Valladolid. 6’6, 18 years old, looks about 40, first player from Sierra Leone to play in La Liga.

But yes, before this window we had a list of the next great CB’s. Reis, Khusanov, Bah, Mosquera.. Man City have gone and signed 75% of them in a couple of weeks :-D
Yeah, can see a world where that happens. ''It was understandable when we sold Chelsea Mark Hughes, a great player, but on the downside. Garnacho is a Puskas winner and is still a kid.''

I look at it another way now, we're no longer using wingers, so I'm still upset, but I guess it will be understandable, at least more understandable than a lot of business we've done. I just know that's hard to accept because he's a prospect. We've seen Amad being able to adjust to one of the 10 roles.

Linked with about 5 strikers today, with what feels like no opportunity to sign them, well, not unless this sale is made. I still have huge doubts. I'm mainly hoping for the same thing I have been for a while, the lwb. Man City will probably buy them too. Arsenal might even get in there for one of those striker targets.

Was it as exciting as 0-0 sounds?

Yup! Mind numbing stuff. Like every Juventus game :-D I watch them on Sky Italia and then listen to the YouTube match reactions (the Italian Goldbridge and Saeed), podcasts etc.. I thought it would be a more fun way to learn than the Italian chick flicks they have on Netflix.

Obviously Juventus are as big as Man Utd are in England, so there’s more to listen to.. but I wish it were Inter Milan instead. I swear paint watches Juventus dry.

Interesting about the striker! Who are the 5 you’ve been linked with?

There were a few strikers rumours going about today. Cunha or Wissa to Forest.

We had more Delap links. Journalists with the “it’s an open secret in the industry that he’ll go to Chelsea in the summer”. And more Sesko ones, which I find annoying. Pretty obvious he’s 95% there to Arsenal, we won’t pay his wages and he’s someone who takes his career seriously with good people around him.. he’s not joining any team who are a shambles.

Saw the odds for Fulham v Utd this weekend and Fulham are the favourites to win, which is understandable.
o_O

Just having a look at the table (League One table, to get an idea of who can get promotion and face Man Utd in the Championship next season).

Leyton Orient and Mansfield Town are fighting for a playoff spot. Wrexham are looking good for automatic promotion. Potential opponent for the opening game of the season? That would be a fun one.

Deadpool v Dead Bad.

On the plus side, I doubt they have 60 inch plasma TV’s in lower league dressing rooms. Amorim might have to channel his inner Fergie and resort to lobbing tea cups at Onana.

The fee floating about for Garnacho seems criminal for someone still young and with potential, considering the ridiculous transfer fees going about now. Antony hello.....

Bayındır has been dodgy as well but Onana should be dropped to light a fire up his behind, dropping stupid clangers and still being in the starting 11 only helps to make him complacent.

We got tagged along with some of those names. United entered an MBeumo race. Yeah right. Just thinking of that. I did hear about Wissa and Forerst. I doubt Brentford would sell 2 of their best players in the middle of the season. But I do know what feels less believable. Cunha, Delap and Jonathan David were the other names on United's four man shortlist.

The only real transfer news today came from Fabrizio. Yes, good ol Fabrizio. I just needed ho hear this. ''There are no doubts a left wing back will be signed by the club.'' I'd like to think so. The first Patrick Dorgu bid was turned down. Also said the finances are not too far apart now. It's making it sound like it's either Dorgu or Alvaro Fernandez since we can get Alvaro cheaper than what the first bid was for Dorgu. Just going by football manager, I'd rather have Dorgu. :p

I’ve seen Dorgu 8-10 times. Don’t think I’ve ever seen him at left back, let alone wing back :-D he’s usually RW in a front 3. Might be Davies, might be Malacia. I have no clue.

Did you say there was an option to get the Benfica left back for £16 million? That one seems like a no brainer!

I recorded 2 games tonight, and watched one live.

Benfica v Barcelona
Atletico v Leverkusen
Brugge v Juventus

Guess which one I watched live :)
I watched Leverkusen Athleti live, that game was fun. So, so glad I didn’t watch that Juve game. Benfica v Barca was better, apparently. The highlights were crazy. Szczesny is amazing at what he does. He’s really good at clattering into his defenders.

Great choice!

Benfica v Barcelona was a classic, but I enjoyed Atletico v Leverkusen more, if I’m honest.

The dark arts, winding them up, Leverkusen falling into the trap, Atletico having 10 men doing the running of 12, the quality to manufacture and take a couple of chances to win etc..

It’s great that we get games like this in the group stage of the UCL. I think the group of death last year had Newcastle v PSG as the highlight :-D we get 5 better matchups each week with the new format.

That's hilarious because I signed him in my Milan game to compete with Theo at left back. Instead, Pulisic suffered broken foot and plans had to change. Now I wouldn't even consider using Dorgu as left back because he's been so good at RW. Fortunately, Milan do have a prospect left back, Davide Bartesaghi. But who knows how that will translate to real life.

Yes, we have the option to sign Alvaro back from Benfica. Apparently, the Garnacho deal could play a big part. If Napoili can't get him then they turn attention to Dorgu, they will also allow Lecce to loan him back until the end of the season. It's sounding like something will happen with Garnacho. Get ready. haha

Speaking of the Milan game. Atalanta won the league, Milan second, 2 points behind. grrr, also lost the Europa League final to. wait for it. Spursy. Also, we have the MVP.

Damn, a lot of moving parts! Sounds like Napoli have turned their attention to Adayemi, so they are more likely to get Dorgu?

It also means we will probably get Garnacho. Fingers crossed something happens last minute, for both our sakes.

Either way, I think resigning him for £16m makes a lot of sense for Man Utd. Even if it’s just to sell him on again. After last nights performance I’m sure there will be clubs willing to pay £20m+. Easy profit, even if you don’t use him.

Yeah, being able to get a cross into the box is worth about 100 million to me. Getting skinned by Raphina doesn't bother me when you consider Raphina skins everybody. I'm not sure, maybe the Napoli and Dorgu story is to try and make Man Utd put the price down but I've no idea really. Again, we have to wait patiently and find out.

What would I give for Brugge to get a draw next week so these Arab lot don't make it to knockouts at all lol...

Brugge are a really solid team. With the way City are playing (when it’s not Leicester or Ipswich), I’d say they have a decent chance at getting a result!

What a crazy couple of days it’s been. All of the match days have been brilliant, and we’ve got one crazy day next Wednesday where it looks like some real big hitters could be falling at the first hurdle :D

One thing I will say, Chelsea really need to be in next years competition from a financial perspective.. but there’s no chance we would do anything in it. The quality of the football and just the mentality and game awareness of these teams is several levels ahead of us. We’d have a job making the playoffs, that’s for sure.

After being told by Alice that there would be big news yesterday and to be prepared. Here I am 4:30 am next morning and still nothing happening. But lucky enough, I was prepared,

Speaking of champions league. We could be there through Europa. That there is wide open, my dear. pardon me. Although I might still be a bit delusional since we such rubbish. But it in an ideal world, all being well, we can win. Would probably still favor Rangers to beat us later though. And Fulham.

Chelsea signed Renato Veiga this past summer and he’s just been loaned out to Juventus.

Lots of crackpots on Twitter complaining about it but he said he wanted more playing time and was open to leave… on loan only. He made it apparent he still wants to be here longterm. We gave him exactly what he wanted, a loan to a team where he’ll get playing time (they are struggling with injuries). And he’ll be back in time for the Club World Cup this summer.

Still on the hunt for news and I landed on talksport. It was quite shocking. Gabby fully on board with Ruben and telling the players to wake up to avoid his wrath. He has a soft spot for the boss because they took coaching badges together over here (yeah lol) in 2019.

The article about Man Utd hijacking the Enciso bid was amusing. I'm glad his loan to Ipswich has been confirmed so there is no confusion. ''It just shows the state of Manchester United. We're not hijacking Real Madrid, now we're going after Ipswich.''

actually, Brugge is interesting in the UCL. they’re in the bottom quarter of clubs in the UCL for scoring, but top quarter of conceding. they’re in the bottom quarter for xG created, top quarter for long balls per match, and in the bottom quarter again for xG conceded.

No news is good news!

We currently have Caicedo as the only fit central midfielder. Do we recall 6’4 Big Les? What about Santos who is dominating the position in Ligue 1? Of course not, they need to stay on loan to increase their transfer fee for the summer :)

Instead we’re buying Belahyane from Verona, who I mentioned back in early October. I have a friend who told me he was one of about 20 we had sent scouts to look at. Most scouting missions come to nothing, but this time he seems to be the chosen one.

Have you seen this Hellas Verona player, Reda Belahyane, we like the look of?

I’ve seen him at Verona, he looks quite good. Kind of like a Lobotka or Bennacer.

The problem is, he’s 5’3 :-D

Just made me laugh trying to picture him going up against 6’4 Ryan Yates today.

In a world where everyone is trying to sign big, physical, road runners, “duel winners”.. we’ve gone and signed a 5’3 Verratti. Insanely talented, but calling him lightweight would be too kind. He’s more of a strawweight.

Looks like Garnacho is happening.

How would you describe that one?

We are no longer a football club, in a sporting sense. We’re an investment fund that would look more at home on the stock market than it does on any Premier League table.

I've heard Garnacho is in the squad tonight, not sure what to think really. We have fena describing what Chelsea do business wise but even I'm wise enough to know there is a plan here. Sadly, I don't have thoughts with United and that's why it's so hard to describe.

Going through one of my 80's phases again, even though I can on ly remember certain things, but anyway. I listen to this and everything is alright for a couple of minutes. Until the next click breaks me.

If ya wanna be my lover you have got to give (me a left back.)

But yeah, I came to report on Garnacho. Looks like Chelsea have made their move.

So come on then. Now things are getting real, what’s your opinion on him?

I’ve had Man Utd fans screaming “he’s the future, the heir to Ronaldo!” for the last couple of seasons. Which was always ridiculous, he’s not even the same type of player, let alone being anywhere near as good.

He’s always struck me as someone who runs around a lot, but doesn’t really do much. Makes poor decisions, runs with his head down etc..

But you’ve seen more of him than I have. What are we getting?

Seen one Garnacho match you've seen them all. Nah, I think you're getting a lot of potential. His moments of brilliance are maybe a little overstated, he can be frustrating, but I also think that's because he's been in a bad environment. Hate to say it but just judging United ever since he broke through pretty much. He can be great, I think. Maybe all he needs is a fresh kit. I'd hold on to him if I could. I'd sell Rashford yesterday, for whatever that's worth

Sounds like a fair assessment, and you are correct, it’s kind of hard to judge players at Man Utd these days.

Sancho has been fantastic at Dortmund and for us, awful at Man Utd. McTominay is playing like a man possessed in Italy. Maybe Garnacho would be the same.

I’m just clinging onto the hope that Tel changes his mind about leaving Bayern. We want him, Bayern want to sell and replace him with Nkunku.. he’s just refusing to leave :-D he’s been an unused sub and is being frozen out by Bayern, so you never know. He needs to make his mind up quickly though, this Garnacho stuff is getting a bit too advanced.
