You can tell Slot is cool and collected 99% of the time. He lost it and didn’t know what to do
then you’ve got Pickford doing a 20 yard knee slide in the background and Jimmy Tarkowski doing the aeroplane celebration.Obviously that was before the fans stormed the pitch, Doucoure winding up the Liverpool fans and the brawl that followed, then the 3 red cards.

Shame Goodison will be no more, but the new stadium looks good. Can’t imagine they’ll have a chicken on the roof, a cheese room and have Taylor Swift performing there every other week like some clubs, but good luck to them.

Probably nothing, these things happen.. but you never know.

I think we play Arsenal in a few weeks, which should be funny. They’ve been talking about playing Merino as a number 9, and I’m not sure what we’ll do with no Jackson or Guiu. Maybe Tosin. Big lad who’s good in the air and enjoys shooting.

I think Spurs vs Man Utd is no 1 box office. Can't help feeling we'll outshine Spurs in how to do it worse once more. I want to be positive and tell myself things that might happen, but I am expecting another beating, definitely.

Arsenal would gag it if they were up 7 not down 7 right now, lets be honest. To me Liverpool would have to play its second team in every game the rest of the season for Arsenal to have a chance.

As much as we enjoyed the madness last night, Liverpool managed to be in a winning position until the last kick of the game against their local rivals, in the last Derby at their stadium, in a game where they had turned it into an old school physical battle. It was end to end, technical ability didn’t count for much, the fans were going crazy, the emotions, the Moyes factor etc.. but Liverpool still had the answers.

7 is a pretty substantial gap, especially since Arsenal drop points to guppies frequently. If it was the City teams of yore down 7 pts it would be one thing. Teams like that could rack up 3 pts every game for 3 months straight. Arsenal can....not.

I think the next Madrid v Barcelona game is the penultimate game of the season. Or at least very late in the season.
Hopefully it’s all riding on that. And Atletico still in it by then would make it even better.

Goes to show what an astronomical amount of luck can do for your trophy count, off the top of my head I can think of Ronaldo being offside for two goals against Bayern, Ramos being offside in the 2016 final when he scored, Keylor Navas being yards off his line in that final's shootout, Casemiro's massively deflected goal in the 2017 final, the last minute penalty vs Juve in 2018, Ramos being allowed to commit GBH in the 2019 final. And that's just for the hat-trick under Zidane!

People seem to think that Pochettino was fired, which wasn’t the case.
In the last few months he was becoming more outspoken in the media, hinting at pressure being put on him to play certain players, the owners not giving him what he needs to compete (he wanted height, physicality, experience. The owners only wanted kids and “opportunities”). The owners wanted to sell Gallagher, Chalobah etc..
So it was effectively a mutual decision to part ways.
It’ll be interesting to see if Maresca snaps at some point and stops towing the party line. Or maybe he continues with the “no UCL is fine, we’re on track to be good in 10 years”.

Unreal, it could all be scare tactics, the 2 articles contradict each other anyway. I would never agree with a guy turning 27 in the summer is too old, especially when you need a goals now type of thing. So I think that is bs, but not getting Gyokeres at all does feel like the most truthful thing. So they put this story out to get people prepared. Only time will tell. Other articles saying he's looking elsewhere and stuff, so I'm now just hoping it's not Vardy and DLC.
I wasn't taking a shot at Vardy. I'd take a younger version of him without a doubt now. Can't say the same for Calvert Lewin at any age, although there might have been a transfer window in the past when it didn't feel like he was such a bad idea. My version of Adebayo.

Vardy is definitely past it, and DCL has more pairs of high heels than he has PL goals. I think there’s a stat where he has the worst shot conversion rate in the league over the last 10 years.Which is saying something when you think there’s Darwin and Jackson taking out fans in the stands weekly. People say a striker being like a sniper is a good thing, but those two take it a bit too literally.
I think Gyokeres makes perfect sense. There’s no need to overthink it. He’s ready made, the relationship with the manager, release clause is reasonable in the summer etc..
We had reports of our scouts being at the last few Sporting games, looking at the striker.. only it’s not Gyokeres. It’s his back up, Harder. Raw as it gets with 16 appearances (most of the bench for 5 mins). It’s very on brand.
It’s going to be Delap, surely? If not, drag Emegha kicking and screaming from Strasbourg. Sesko, Gyokeres, Isak or any other young kid with ambition will laugh in your face if you put a bid in.
“We might be able to compete in 10 years”. Any player with the slightest ambition isn’t taking us seriously. They haven’t for awhile, to be fair. The signings are all favours to agents to get them big commission (Neto/Felix), PSR deals, whoever Joe Shields has a strong relationship with (Lavia, Palmer, Tosin, Delap) or it’s bang average players who know they’ll get a pay rise, Chelsea on the CV and be sold to a better club to the one they originally left (Amougou, Veiga, KDH etc..).

Yes, always has been. The decent runs were built on sand.
It’s a load of kids who have been bought with money that the owners give the club in exchange for the hotels, the training ground, the women’s team etc.. they own them now. Asset stripping basically.
The owners then sell those players to their agent friends, grab some nice commission and proceeds for them and their shareholders. Invest what’s left on more kids and do it all over again.
They’ve also taken out a £500m loan with a bank they are in business with that needs to repaid in 2030. The interest on that loan means the repayment will be £1.2bn.
They’ll be long gone by then.
As I say, I don’t expect other fans to dig deep into it. They just judge the football. Spend a billion? Good owners! Team is worse now than it was 3 years ago? Hahaha! Which is understandable.
But they don’t realise what is actually going on. The club is being destroyed, essentially.

All of La Liga are my allies because I want Liverpool to lose. Hoping Atleti-Real don't draw each other assuming City don't pull a rabbit out of their hat here. I give them a 25 percent or so chance to still pull it back - Real Madrid really hasn't been as good at home as they usually are and the defense is still banged up. City also have nothing to lose. They really should have lost by more than the one goal, so they're not fully dead yet.
Talent-wise, I personally believe City are still the 2nd best team in the Prem. They just have no belief right now, and Pep has negative belief (and it shows in the whole team).

I seriously don’t have the strength to deal with this anymore and I’ve tried to be positive and get on board but this is not Chelsea and will never be Chelsea. I cannot fathom a Chelsea manager being ok with Top 4. Let alone Maresca who said we’re not even supposed to be top 4, so this season has been really good.
The standards have dropped so much. The players have gotten worse. Eghbali and the rest of this lot just do not care and if they did they wouldn’t just sit there and let this happen every year.
