Pandemic killed all sports tbh. NBA has been absolutely awful since the bubble. The players are so talented but the product is just so one dimensional. OKC putting up a historic net rating only to lose to the Zombie Warriors is enough to make a grown man cry.

Any remaining life left in sport was extinguished in that long three year winter - if you look across all sports, 21-22 was the absolute nadir. 2021 specifically was probably the worst year of my sporting life I can remember - everything was just crap.

Football isn't in the dirt. Just most of the Premier League . Like I said the other day, the league tries to market itself on Chelsea/United/Tottenham still being good.

You can still watch high caliber football outside of the little bubble of England and their gatekeepers. Now to be fair to the Prem, Liverpool are capable of this world class football. City/Arsenal are borderline but not quite there this year.

Plenty of teams in Europe that play entertaining football.

Premier League holding onto the dying embers of fanbases of Spuds/Manseventher to try to hype you up for matches like today still. Sad thing is you cant even call them Manseventher anymore. They can't even get near 7th these days.

I just remember 2021 and getting into the final vs Villarreal and just so depressed. Think this was the time when I had special powers and could inspire a win if I was here. But no, now that seems like a golden age compared to now, now it just gets worse every week.

Champions League has been consistently quality content for 25 years. Most finals are extremely competitive and entertaining. Even City's behemoth team going for the treble was an interesting final. Could have been more interesting if Lukaku was ever clinical in big games.

NCAA has always been a case of having to pick gold out of the crap. NIL shifted the goalposts some what but by and large it's still the same. The 2000's had some real borefest NCAA champions (Not sure anyone was more boring than those Florida football/basketball champion teams).

NBA nowadays is sure of a hell lot better than watching the Warriors beat hospital teams over and over a decade ago. Or 74-72 games two decades ago.

NFL has always been picking gold out of the crap. Even back in the "golden days".

I swear the only reason they signed Hojlund was cuz his name sounded similar to Haaland and they could milk the Hojlund vs. Haaland; United vs. City marketing. Let idiots like UTDTrey and Goldfish run up the propaganda.

Zirkzee to be fair didn’t look bad, it’s just he’s surrounded by total and utter garbage around him in attack. None of them have the IQ to think ahead of the current situation and their touches are non-league level.

Hojlund and Garnacho are examples of why the physical thresholds needed to play top level football make the product worse. Hojlund is one of the most physically impressive players I’ve seen play Spurs but he couldn’t control a ball from 2 feet away. Garnacho’s fast but his brain is on a much slower frequency.
